3 Page 4 January 2019 Reduced Fat Doritos Chips A few months ago a fire severely damaged the Fritos plant in Arkansas that manufactures the Reduced Fat Doritos that are on the order guide. This was the only plant that produced RF Doritos in the country. A Tennessee plant has since picked up the RF Dorito production while repairs are in place at the Arkansas plant. Normal operations at the Arkansas RF plant are expected to resume in March. This means that you may see some shortages or outs on the RF Dorito products listed below. What should you do? Continue to order the chips you want. The distributors will let you know if they have shorts or outs and will make recommendations for substituting another product. The State agency will continue its communications with Frito Lay, and will update you of any changes. The following 4 items are affected by the plant fire. Continue to order them, however realize that there may be shortages and or outs and be prepared to make a substitution from the other chips RF Tortilla Chips, Nacho Cheese WG RF Tortilla Chip, Cool Ranch WG RF Tortilla Chip, Flama WG RF Tortilla Chip, Spicy Sweet Chili WG These chips should not see any shortages or outs. Spaghetti Pasta WG will be replaced by Spaghetti Pasta, Enriched. The New Product Preview Sheet will be provided. After reviewing the information, please contact your Food Distribution Advisory Committee regional representative (see page 5) by with your thoughts on items to be placed on the SY20 Food Distribution survey. This should be done on or before Friday, January 18 th. Your opinion matters!
