2 CRITERIA FOR RESULTS: Supervised assessments must be completed under test conditions, with access to notes or textbooks. Only one resit will be allowed for each assessment. Students who do not pass assessments at the first attempt may be eligible to undertake a resit at the discretion of the lecturer. Competency must be demonstrated in all sections of the course in order to pass the subject. Students who pass all assessments at their first attempt are eligible for credit and distinction grading for the subject, based on demonstrated excellence and additional research. Grading: This module will be resulted with a Distinction, credit or Pass Other results that may be given are: NC FN W Not Competent student has not successfully completed the unit Student has commenced and withdrawn without notification Student has formally withdrawn from the unit Grades will be given for each assessment. An overall grade will then be given dependent on these results. A student who needs to resit all or part of any assessment (supervised or unsupervised) can only achieve a P for that assessment. 3 ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW In order to gain competency the following assessments AND assignments must be completed and passed. Assignment 1 Computer Operations, Internet & Unsupervised assignment on Learning Outcomes 1, 5 & 6 comprised of two parts: Theory and Practical tasks related to your understanding of computer file management, use of the internet and use of . (see pages 4 6) Efficient use of folders and file management will be included in the Spreadsheet and Word Processing assessments. Assessment 1 Word Processing Assessment Format: Set tasks covering Learning Outcome 2 requiring formatting of a supplied multi-page document; composing and editing letters, construction and formatting of a simple table, use of tabs and a mail merge. The completed assessment is to be printed and all files submitted. Assessment Conditions: Under supervision at campus, or as arranged with lecturer. Assessment 2 Spreadsheets Assessment Format: Set questions covering Learning Outcome 3 requiring construction of spreadsheets, manipulating data, use of formulae and functions including IF and VLOOKUP, linking of worksheets, creating charts and exporting to a word document. The completed assessment and the formulae are to be printed and all files submitted. Assessment Conditions: Under supervision at campus, or as arranged with lecturer. Assignment 2 PowerPoint, Internet, , Business Equipment Assignment Format: Assignment in the form of a PowerPoint presentation including use of a design template, transitions, animations, handouts and graphics covering questions on Learning Outcomes 1, 4, 5 & 6. This assignment is to be sent to your lecturer as an attachment. (See pages 7 8) Assessment Conditions: Assignment may be completed off-campus. 8 Transitions Animations Timing STUDY GUIDE for DESIGN AND PRODUCE BUSINESS DOCUMENTS - BSBITU306A / FTPF Use Fade through Black or one of your choice Animate the Graphic and Bullet Points to appear by Dissolve (or your own choice) in your Ergonomics slide Set the timing to Automatically after 00:10 secs For Slide 6 and 7 Once the accounting students are qualified, they will need to purchase office equipment to set up an accounting office. List the office equipment and other hardware on slide 6 that they might need to purchase. Use slide 7 to let them know what software they might need. They have heard of Office Works, Harvey Norman and Radio Rentals (or you may wish to recommend another supplier). Paste in a graphic of USB storage devices, from the supplier s site. They will also need to use the Australian Tax Office website and the Australian Bureau of Statistics website so please let them know the web address of both of these on slide 7. Also give them the web address of your favourite search engine when using the Internet, as they may find this useful. 9 Financial Services ASSESSMENT SUPERVISION FORM When you are ready for a supervised assessment, please arrange to have this form completed by the person you nominate to be your supervisor and please return it to: Bronwyn Pile TAFESA 19 George Main Rd., VICTOR HARBOR SA 5211 Fax: Try to arrange to sit this at your local TAFE campus. If that is not possible then the person you nominate as supervisor needs to be in a position of responsibility, such as a teacher, JP or business proprietor and not someone who is a relative or friend. Some suitable venues can be your local police station, school, your work place or library. Please allow at least 10 working days so that the material can be sent to the supervisor. The conditions of the assessment will be outlined in more details on the assessment / examination paper. This assessment is open-book.
