The main elements describing these capabilities are the supprted DICOM Service Object Pair (SOP) es, Rles, Infrmatin Object Definitins (IOD) and Transfer Syntaxes. It shuld be read in cnjunctin with the DICOM standard and its addenda. This statement is cnfrmant with the recmmended frmat as described in PS 3.2 f the DICOM standard. When anther applicatin cnnects, DICOMBurner expects it t be a DICOM applicatin. DICOMBurner will accept assciatins with Presentatin Cntexts fr SOP es f the Strage Service. It will receive images n these Presentatin Cntexts and it will stre them t files in a frmat cmpliant with Part 10 f the DICOM standard Query/Retrieve as SCP DICOMBurner waits fr anther applicatin t cnnect at the presentatin address cnfigured in the DICOM Cnfiguratin sectin. When anther applicatin cnnects, DICOMBurner expects it t be a DICOM applicatin. DICOMBurner will accept assciatins with Presentatin Cntexts fr SOP es f the Query/Retrieve Service (Patient Rt and Study Rt, FIND and MOVE) Verificatin Service as SCU When certain functinalities f the sftware are called, DICOMBurner will cnnect t ther DICOM peers, acting as a SCU. 10 2.1.3 Sequencing f Real-Wrld activities DICOMBurner receives DICOM images frm ther DICOM mdalities r DICOM wrkstatins. It then stres these images t a lcal database. DICOMBurner is als able t imprt DICOM images frm lcal disks r frm remte DICOM hsts: als in this case, the imprted images are stred t a lcal database. In additin, as an independent functinality, DICOMBurner is able t send images t remte DICOM archives. A different (lwer) setting may be chsen by the user in the DICOM Cnfiguratin Sectin f DICOMBurner. As a SCU, DICOMBurner will pen new DICOM assciatins depending n the peratins requested by the user thrugh the GUI.
