4 Save As File Tl Intrductin Overview The Save As File is an Output Tl which is used t create a Task Step that saves the utput frm a Frmat type Step as ne r mre files n disk. Yu can als save a variable r any clumn value expsed by an Input Step such as a Database Query (ODBC). This methd culd be used t update an Intranet, t save dcuments fr later prcessing by anther Task r simply t expse infrmatin t anther system r applicatin. Fr example, HTML utput frm a Frmat as HTML Step may be saved as ne r mre.htm files, r utput frm a Frmat as Text Step may be saved as a.csv file fr use by anther applicatin, such as Micrsft Excel. Cnfiguratin The Save As File Step is cnfigured thrugh the Save As File dialg which is the main interface fr creating a new Step. The dialg is displayed thrugh the methds described belw. 8 Save As File Tl The Main tab (Ref: Figure 2) allws the selectin f the file cntents and the lcatin and the file name under which it is t be saved. The tab cntains the fllwing: Path - The file path may be manually entered r selected thrugh a 'Brwse' buttn. A dynamic value may als be used by dragging and drpping a clumn r variable cntaining the file path, frm the Task Brwser int the field. Filename - A new file name may be manually entered r an existing file name selected thrugh a 'Brwse' buttn. A dynamic value may als be used by dragging and drpping a clumn r variable cntaining the file name, frm the Task Brwser int the field. Create destinatin flder if nt fund - If this ptin is checked then a new flder is created fr the destinatin entered in the 'Path' field abve when the Task is run. Optins The Optins tab (Ref: Figure 3) f the Save As File dialg is used t set ptins fr the Save As File Step if a file f the same name already exists and if the Step fails n a particular file. The fllwing ptins are prvided fr selectin: Figure 3 Save As File Optins tab. Never Overwrite - If the destinatin file name already exists then it will nt be verwritten and the new file data is therefre nt saved. 6

9 Save As File Tl Always Overwrite - If the destinatin file name already exists then it will be verwritten with the new file data is saved. Abrt Step - If an errr ccurs then the Step is abrted. Cntinue - If an errr ccurs then the Step will cntinue. Abrt Task - If the Step is abrted then the Task is abrted. Cntinue - If the Step is abrted then the Task will cntinue nt the next Step in the prcess if ne exists 7
