2 Introduction These instructions are for installing the GCSimplePlayer software to and running the software from a hard drive or flash drive. Choose where the program is going to be installed. Click on the Browse button. NOTE: You will need approximately 80MB of free space. Download Software 1. Go to downloads/software/ NOTE: This program can also be installed and run on a flash drive. After installation the program should open automatically. If the GCSimplePlayer does not open, go to the location where it was installed. You will see the GCSimplePlayer folder. 2. Click on GCSimplePlayer.exe Run Installation Double Click GCSimplePlayer to open the GCSimplePlayer folder. Double click on the file named GCSimplePlayer or right click and choose Send to Desktop to create a shortcut. An installation window will open. To begin installation do one of the following: Click Run to start the program Click Save to save the executable and install it later Click Save and Run to save and install immediately 2 Gulfcoast Software Solutions GCSimplePlayer Software Installation Solutions

3 Viewing Video Viewing All Videos in a Folder Once the player is open, the screen should look like this. A dialog box will open. Choose the destination of where the video was saved. If multiple cameras are to be viewed simultaneously a Video folder is required (whether on a CD or a flash drive). Click on Files in the upper left hand corner on the player. Click on Open Folder if you want to watch a range of clips across different cameras. In the Video folder there will be: Folders named Cam01, Cam02, Cam03 depending on how many cameras were recording. Inside of the Each of the CamXX folder is a date folder named 1031 (which is the month and day of the video recorded). Inside the date folder is the AVI Video files. Click on either the CamXX folder or the AVI Video inside the CamXX folder. 3 Gulfcoast Software Solutions GCSimplePlayer Software Installation Solutions

4 View by AVI File If you would like to view video by the AVI file. Play Controls If you click on the Video folder then all cameras will play from the earliest time to the latest time. If you click on File > CamXX folder only the video footage from that specific camera will play. For example, Cam02 will play the video footage from camera 2. In either view, the play controls are at the bottom of the player (See example above). NOTE: Some Gulfcoast video records on motion detect. Often, cameras are set to record on motion only. This will show in the viewer by a camera stopping (no motion) and then starting again (motion). Click File Click Open File Click the CamXX folder you wish to view Click the Date folder Then select the 5 min clip you wish to view. 5 Reviewing Fisheye Video To review video saved in a fisheye format: 1. Open the Video file The example above is a Dual 180 Degree View. Once a view is selected the user can play the video in this new view. NOTE: Changing the view will not alter the format of the original video. Merging and Converting Video 2. Right-click on the Video to bring up an options menu 3. Choose Render>Fisheye>Geo Fisheye 4. Choose one of the four views. Right-click on the Video you would like to merge and/or convert. 6 Click on the Settings tab Choose the location where you would like your new file to be saved by clicking the... Button near the top. IMPORTANT: Under Codec Selection make sure Codec is set to WMV9. Click OK to start the video merging/conversion process. A Merging List window will open. Next, select the Start and Stop Times for the new video clip. A privacy mask can also be added at this time. NOTE: When merging/converting fisheye video, the new video will be saved in the current view, see the example above for video being saved in Dual 180 Degree View. 7 Choosing Which Gulfcoast Video Player to Use GCSimplePlayer Gulfcoast StoreKeeper Easier to install. Can be installed and run on a flash drive. Can Convert Video to WMP by exact start and stop times; no 5 minute limitation. Can play Fisheye video.
