1 There are numerous websites and services (some free, some for a fee) that will allow you to download videos from YouTube and other internet sites. However, this brochure is a foolproof and simple method that has endless applications and is completely free. First, Download from Go to YouTube or other online source, and select a video. As the video is playing, hover your cursor over the video and this button will show up.

2 If you click on the the video will start to download. Depending on your system s settings and preferences, the video will probably be downloaded to a folder in your Libraries > Videos > Realplayer Downloads. This folder is often difficult to locate. Instead, before clicking the Download This Video, click the down arrow which will bring up a set of menus. You can now choose your video download destination, such as the desktop or other location. This is recommended, but not required. When you click your video will automatically download.

3 The first part of the process is now complete. You can view or share your video. However, once the video has downloaded and the downloader window is still open, you can do several other things. Two of the most useful are discussed here. If you close the downloader window and need to access the Real Trimmer or Real Converter, they are both located in the Start Menu > All Programs > Real Networks folder. You can select the and use the slider bar to edit the length of the video.

4 Your video will automatically downloan in FLV (Flash) format. This format is NOT supported by Microsoft products (such as PowerPoint) and most mobile devices. In order to embed the video into PowerPoint or other Microsoft product, you will have to it. However, this is not true of How to convert: 1. Click the or open the Realplayer Converter. 2. Select a device. Choose Video Formats. WMV is the easiest for PowerPoint. 3. You can also select Audio Formats from the drop down menu and convert your video to MP3 audio, which will separate the audio track or music from the video.

5 EMBED VIDEOS INTO POWERPOINT PRESENTATIOND In earlier versions of PowerPoint, you will have to click Insert > Videos > From File Find the video location and insert it. Embedding a YouTube video in PowerPoint 2010 If you are using PowerPoint 2010, you can follow the steps below to embed a YouTube video in your presentation Under the video, click Share. Get the video embed code from YouTube video page In PowerPoint Normal view, click the slide in which the video needs to be inserted Under Insert tab, in the Media group, click the arrow under Video Click Video from Web Site and paste the embed code in Insert Video from Web Site dialog box Click Insert and the video will be inserted

6 If you are going to play your PowerPoint on the same computer where it was created, then you are finished. Embed, Save As, and Enjoy your presentation. However, if you create the presentation on a different computer, want to share it, want to transport it, want to save it permanently, or want to post it on your blog or website, YOUR VIDEO WILL NOT PLAY until you do some more steps. Pictures become a permanent part of all PowerPoints. Videos and Audio do not. Instead, they are internally linked. When you play your video, PowerPoint goes to the video s saved location and plays it from there. If you change computers, rename a file, or do something else to alter that internal link, YOUR VIDEO WILL NOT PLAY. You will need to package your presentation, which bundles all the associated files (including video and audio files) into one place. You can load the presentation on a CD (the original purpose of this option) or transport it from machine to machine. In early versions of PowerPoint (2003 and before) select Pack and Go, and follow the Wizard.
