1 STUDENT LAPTOP INTRODUCTION
2 WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR? Laptop Power supply
3 POWERING ON YOUR LAPTOP! Power button is at the left side, toward the back. LIGHTLY depress with index finger. Do not press too hard.
4 LOG IN TO THE NETWORK User name: (letters and numbers you were given) For example: ab12345 or s12345 If you are a new student to the district, your temporary password is: ccsd2017 Press ENTER
5 CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD (Skip this step if you have already reset your password.) Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete Select Change a password Press ENTER
6 NEW STUDENTS CONFIRM YOUR OLD PASSWORD: ccsd2017 Create new password = 8 to 10 characters (include at least one number) Type your new password twice. Register for Self-Service Password Reset You will need to register for the self-service password reset. To get started, visit this site.
7 Troubleshooting Your Laptop What if my laptop freezes? {Reboot the laptop}. What if I cannot access the Start menu? {Power it off by the power button}. What if the internet will not connect? {Turn off the Wi-Fi then back on}. What of my laptop will not power on? {Make sure the battery was charged}. Connect the power adapter and data cable. Then RESTART the laptop.
8 UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING: You are not allowed to download any copyrighted materials, music, videos, games, unauthorized software ($10 fine per violation)
9 Removal or intentional damage of CCSD identifying stickers ($10 fine per violation) Damaging the computer In the event of loss or damage to the device, a fee must be paid in accordance with the established Fee Schedule as set forth in the Parent and Student Guidelines for use of CCSD Personal Learning Devices booklet. Actual cost of repair or replacement cost of the mobile computing device for incidents of damage. The principal has the discretion to remove the device from the student. Mobile computing devices must be transported to school each day fully charged in a mobile computing device bag and with the protective shell on. Students must secure the mobile computing device at all times.
10 Where is my Laptop? Parents or adult students will file a police report in cases of loss, theft or vandalism that occur away from the school campus. The police report must be turned in to the principal within 48 hours. Loss or theft will result in paying full replacement cost of the mobile computing device. Mobile computing devices that are not returned to the principal when a student leaves, transfers, or withdraws from school will be considered stolen.
11 WHAT HAPPENS IF IT NEEDS REPAIR? 1. TEACHER inputs a Help Desk ticket. 2. STUDENT completes the Online Repair Form. 3. You can access through a QR Code or through a link that will accessible in many places.
12 FILL OUT REPAIR FORM COMPLETELY: Make sure you provide a detail of how damage happened. Once all is completed, you will be called to the Tech Office to drop off your laptop.
13 SHUT DOWN LAPTOP DAILY TO RECEIVE IMPORTANT UPDATES Always shut down your laptop properly Windows button > Power

18 Printing Paper Cut Open Word Click File Print Choose DRMS HP FindMe
19 PaperCut If you have sent a document to print, you have to release your print job. Open Start Menu All Apps Scroll down to PaperCut User You can also Right-Click and Pin to the Start menu
20 Printing - Paper Cut Log in with your username and password you use to access your computer.
21 A window will open with jobs pending Click print to the right of the document name.
22 Select the printer A list of printers (by room number) is listed. Pick the printer you would like to print to.
