On call features - Provide the ability for the ticketing system to auto-escalate to new technicians based on an escalation matrix and technician availability. Knowledgebase enhancements - Provide functional and usability enhancements, including user interface changes, improved search, new fields, and improved ability to rate, track validity, and search based on priority of solutions. Integrated live chat - Provides ability for end users to initiate online chat with a service technician to speed up problem resolution. Map integration - Embeds a map tool in the incident and asset applications that enables users to determine the location where an incident may be occurring. Auto fill and type ahead - Enhance the ability of the system to auto fill text in specific areas (for example, Self Service Center). Improved data cleansing and reconciliation functionality between configuration items (CIs) and assets - Provides the ability to cleanse newly created and existing assets and CIs, and use the cleansed data to purge duplicates and improve reconciliation success. Usability and navigation enhancements - Focus on further improvements to the Self Service Center, CI application, and search functionality to improve the overall usability, intuitiveness, and ease of use in these areas. IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager integration - Provides direct integration from SmartCloud Control Desk to Tivoli Endpoint Manager to allow you to leverage Tivoli Endpoint Manager functionality to request software for Service Catalog offerings, perform improved license management, distribute software, and complete the audit trail for deployed software. InDesign Markup Language (IDML) loader - Provides a mechanism directly in the SmartCloud Control Desk to load IT resources and smarter infrastructure resources from IDML formatted books without a separate tool or intermediate process step. Pricing for catalog offerings - Leverages price books to allow you to associate costs to catalog offerings for improved cost tracking. Security, auditability, and control IBM SmartCloud Control Desk V7.5.1 uses the security and auditability features of the operating system software. The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities. Licensing metric definitions and pricing examples Licensing metric definitions Authorized User Authorized User is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. An Authorized User is a unique person who is given access to the program. The program may be installed on any number of computers or servers and each Authorized User may have simultaneous access to any number of instances of the program at one time. Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Authorized User given access to the program in any manner directly or indirectly (for example, via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person. 8 Concurrent User Concurrent User is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. A Concurrent User is a person who is accessing the program at any particular point in time. Regardless of whether the person is simultaneously accessing the program multiple times, the person counts only as a single Concurrent User. The program may be installed on any number of computers or servers, but licensee must obtain entitlements for the maximum number of Concurrent Users simultaneously accessing the program. Licensee must obtain an entitlement for each simultaneous Concurrent User accessing the program in any manner directly or indirectly (for example: via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. IBM SmartCloud Control Desk is priced per Authorized User and per Concurrent User. License entitlement is priced per Authorized User, Concurrent User, or a combination of both types of users. An Authorized User may log on at any point in time without restriction. The maximum number of concurrent users who may log on simultaneously must be less than or equal to the number of entitled concurrent user licenses. There is no charge for end users (sometimes referred to as self-service requestors). Pricing examples Pricing example 1 A customer wishes to purchase IBM SmartCloud Control Desk to help manage an environment of 5,000 employees with 130 service desk, change management, and asset management personnel. Of the 130 personnel, 10 are supervisors who must be able to log on at any point without restriction. The remaining 120 personnel are representatives who are scheduled to work during each of three shifts as follows: First shift: 40 representatives Second shift: 40 representatives Third shift: 40 representatives 40 is the maximum number of concurrent users who will need to be logged on during a single shift. In this example, the customer must purchase 10 Authorized User licenses and 40 concurrent user licenses. No licenses are required for the 5,000 employees (the end users of the services). Note that the number of personnel and number of employees in this example are not intended to imply a standard ratio. The ratio (as well as Authorized User and Concurrent User license entitlements) can vary by enterprise. Pricing example 2 A large customer wishes to purchase IBM SmartCloud Control Desk to improve the overall efficiency of their operations. The customer's IT organization includes two major locations (Location A and Location B) in two different time zones. The number of personnel at both locations combined totals 500. Location A employs 250 personnel. Twenty five of these 250 are supervisors who guide teams of representatives or manage content and delivery. These supervisors must be able to log in at any time without restriction. The remaining 225 representatives work across multiple shifts, with a maximum of 75 logging at once. Location B is staffed in the same manner as Location A.
