5 Before Installing Kubotek Validation Tool assures manufactures that two CAD models that visually appear the same truly are geometrically identical. Kubotek Validation Tool performs a critical test for manufacturers that rely on the 3D model as the product specification and distribute models to suppliers. The minimum system requirements necessary to support the Kubotek Validation Tool program are covered in this chapter. Installation procedures are covered in the following chapter of this guide.

6 Setup Recommendations It is recommended that you complete the following BEFORE installing your copy of Kubotek Validation Tool: 1: Review the system requirements on the following page. Make sure that your systemspecifications at least meet the minimum requirements. It is recommended, however, that your system meet or exceed the listed recommendations for increased perfomance. 2: Backup any important files. Before upgrading from an older version, it is recommended that you backup any customized files that you expect to use with the copy you are installing.

9 Downloading the Kubotek Validation Tool Software Follow the procedures described in this chapter to download your copy of the Kubotek Validation Tool software.

10 Downloading Procedures Steps: 1: Go to the Kubotek Validation Tool web site (validatecad.com) and select Request Trial of Kubotek Validation Tool button.

11 2: Please fill out the form to register for the Kubotek Validation Tool and select Submit at the bottom of the page.

12 3: Confirmation page. You will receive an with information on how to get the Kubotek Validation Tool.

13 4: You will recieve an with information that a licensing representative will be contacting you shortly to assist with your software installation and to review the features and functionality of the software.

14 Installing the Kubotek Validation Tool Software Follow the procedures described in this chapter to install your copy of the Kubotek Validation Tool software properly.

15 Installation Procedures Steps: 1: Locate your the Validate*.exe downloaded from the WEB. Choose which file you would like to install by clicking the selection with the mouse. The InstallSheild Wizard welcome screen appears. 2: Click NEXT > to proceed with the installation. The License Agreement appears.

16 3: Review the agreement. To accept the agreement and proceed with the program installation, click I accept, then click NEXT >.

17 4: Type the desired username and organization in the provided fields. 5: Decide who will be able to use the product on the computer and then select the appropriate option under Install this application for. 6: Click NEXT >.

18 7: Choose a destination folder (directory) for the installation files. It is recommended that you install Kubotek Validation Tool to a clean directory. To install the application to the default directory that appears, click NEXT >. To select a new destination folder, click CHANGE. Click NEXT > to proceed with the installation.

19 8: Specify the standard/units by choosing either International (Millimeters, ISO) or Customary American (Inches, ANSI). Click NEXT > to continue. **CatiaV5 files are unit-less and will be read using the units chosen here. File formats that are not unit-less will be read using the units stored in the file.

20 9: Specify which version of the Kubotek Validation Tool you would like to install. Click NEXT > to continue.

21 10: InstallShield is now ready to install the application. To review or change your installation settings, click < BACK. To install the application as is, click INSTALL.
