3 IBM US Announcement Supplemental Information February 12, 2002 Additional Information WLS Packaging and Products Products, the elementary building blocks of CATIA WLS, may be ordered in two ways, depending on the objectives of the customer: 1. As shareable products: CATIA V5 User Companion for Mechanical Design (5691-MDC) CATIA V5 User Companion for Hybrid Design (5691-HDC) User Companion for DMU (5691-DNC) Shareable products are suited for the customer who needs a limited number of licenses available. These products are delivered with their own license key, allowing the user to obtain the license at the beginning of the session, or to leave it for another user. 2. As enterprise products: CATIA V5 User Companion for Mechanical Design Enterprise Option (5691-MDE) CATIA V5 User Companion for Hybrid Design Enterprise Option (5691-HDE) CATIA User Companion for V4 Mechanical Design Enterprise Option (5691-M4E) User Companion for DMU (5691-DNE) This licensing option offers a reduced primary license charge (PLC) and requires that, the customer purchase licenses in a quantity equal to the quantity of each licensed configuration as described by the following terms: The CATIA WLS V5 product 5691-MDE is licensed to customers on a one-to-one (1:1) relationship between the 5691-MDE product and each licensed configuration (and any future configuration) which would include the CATIA V5 Part Design 2 product. In V5.8 this would include the 5691-MD2, -HD2, -ME2, -MS2, and -XM2 configurations and any other custom configuration built utilizing add-on products in combination with these configurations. The CATIA WLS V5 product 5691-HDE is licensed to customers on a one-to-one (1:1) relationship between the 5691-HDE product and each licensed configuration (and any future configuration) containing the Generative Shape Design 2 product. In V5.8 this would include the 5691-HD2 configuration and any other custom configuration built utilizing add-on products in combination with the HD2 configuration. The CATIA WLS V5 product 5691-M4E is licensed to customers on a one-to-one (1:1) relationship between the 5691-M4E product and each licensed configuration of 5626-SBD, -ADD, and -DWD. The CATIA/ENOVIA WLS V5 product 5691-DNE is licensed to customers on a one-to-one (1:1) relationship between the 5691-DNE product and each licensed 5693-DMN add-on or 5691-DMN shareable product as well as each licensed configuration (and any future configuration) which includes the CATIA/ENOVIA V5 DMU Navigator 2 product. In V5.8 this would include the 5691-DPS, -DM2, and -DH2 configurations, any custom configuration built utilizing add-on products in combination with these configurations and any other installation of the 5691-DMN add-on or shareable product with other configurations. Once the minimum requirements are met, a customer may also buy additional WLS licenses to support other CATIA V5 or V4 licensed configurations not listed in the enterprise option terms. For example, in V5.8, 5691-MDE must be deployed on all CATIA mechanical seats that license at least the products of the MD2, ME2, HD2, MS2, and XM2 configurations. All subsequent orders for the applicable licensed configurations must be accompanied by an equivalent order for the supporting CATIA User Companion. The price of an enterprise seat is greatly reduced compared to the price of a shareable order. There is no minimum seat requirement for CATIA WLS Enterprise Option products (5691-MDE, 5691-HDE, 5691-M4E, and 5691-DNE). Note: When the enterprise option is deployed, the shareable option is no longer necessary. CATIA WLS Migration/Upgrade Offerings CATIA WLS V5 provides a migration path from CATIA V4 Computer Based Training (5799-CBT) Enterprise License Option, to the WLS CATIA User Companion for V4 Mechanical Design Enterprise Option (5691-M4E). The migration can be ordered up to the current quantity of the existing from product install base. CATIA V4 Computer Based Training (5799-CBT) Training Room Support, Build Time and Manufacturing CBT options are not supported in this migration offering. The CATIA User Companion for V4 Mechanical Design Enterprise Option on UNIX (5691-M4E) will provide a no-charge migration to the CATIA V5 User Companion for Mechanical Design Enterprise Option (5691-MDE) for CATIA V5 customers. 4 MDE Enterprise Option Rules: In V5.8, the to product install base is defined as 5691-MD2, -HD2, -ME2, -MS2, and -XM2 configurations, any other custom configuration built utilizing add-on products in combination with these configurations, and each licensed configuration (and any future configuration) which would include the CATIA V5 Part Design 2 product. Subsequently, when migrating from M4E to MDE, Enterprise Option rules apply: 1. The customer acquires, at a minimum, MDE licenses as specified in Enterprise Option rules. (See above) 2. Customer will get MDE licenses at no charge based on the M4E licenses previously installed. Upgrade paths have been developed to protect your V4 investment by providing, in most cases, a path to upgrade existing V4 CBT products to their V5 WLS functionally equivalent packages. Also, upgrades are offered to take advantage of the evolving capabilities of CATIA V5. Technical Information Hardware Requirements: This product is designed to run concurrently with CATIA V5.8. For additional information on CATIA V5.8, refer to Software Announcement , dated February 12, You can also visit: Disk Drive: An internal or external disk drive is required to store program executables, program data, usage environment and paging space (minimum recommended size: 2 GB). Memory: 256 MB of main memory is the minimum required. Requirements may be greater when large amounts of data are used. Internal/External Drives: A CD-ROM drive is required for program installation. Display: A graphic color display compatible with the selected platform-specific graphic adapter. For usability reasons, at a minimum, a 17-inch display is recommended. Minimum resolution for Windows workstations is 1024 x 768. Keyboard: A specific keyboard compatible with selected installation locale may be required for national language support. Although CATIA V5 products might run on other configurations or other graphic adapters, incidents specific to these configurations or adapters would not be accepted for support. Hardware Requirements in a Windows Environment System Unit: Intel Pentium II, Pentium III, or Pentium 4-based workstations running Microsoft Windows NT Workstation Version 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP Professional Edition. Graphic Adapter: A graphic adapter with 3D OpenGL accelerator is required. Graphic performance on local transformations (panning, zooming, rotating model) will depend on the selected graphic adapter. The graphic adapter should have the following capabilities: 24 bits, true color, double buffered visual 24 bits, Z-buffer Stencil buffer Minimum supported resolution is 800 x 600. A resolution of 1280 x 1024 is recommended for usability reasons. Network Adapter: An active LAN adapter (Ethernet or Token Ring, installed and configured) is required for licensing purposes. Hardware Requirements in an AIX Environment System Unit: Any RS/6000 based on PowerPC 604 (166 MHz minimum clock speed), Power2, or Power3 processor families, supported on AIX V4.3.3 provided that requirements described below are met. For software requirements, visit: Browser Plug-ins: Some products of the WLS may provide learning resources using the Portable Document Format (PDF). This requires Adobe Acrobat Reader at minimum level 3.0 to be installed as a plug-in for the browser used to run the system. Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 5.0 may be downloaded from: Although access to CATIA WLS might work on other HTML browsers, incidents specific to other browsers than above-mentioned products are not eligible for support. Prerequisites for the Licensing Environment Windows workstations must have a LAN card (Ethernet or Token Ring) and TCP/IP installed and properly configured, even in the case of nodelock licensing. It is not required to have the workstations connected to the network. LUM software is not required on a client using a nodelock license. IBM License Use Management (LUM) is required to serve concurrent licenses across a network. A LUM configuration file (i4ls.ini) is required, on CATIA clients to access concurrent licenses from these servers. At minimum level is required on UNIX or Windows NT license servers. At minimum level is required on Windows 2000 Professional license servers. At minimum level is required when High Availability Licensing (HAL) licensing mechanism offered by LUM is used

Access to Product Documentation: If installed in server mode, the product documentation must be installed on the same server the WLS product is installed. If used in file mode, the documentation may be installed at any place on the client. The location of the documentation is defined via the settings tool of the CATIA User Companion Desktop. Using the Mail Feature: The mail feature launches the mail utility that has been declared on the NT client. If no mail application has been defined, then the feature is equivalent to issuing a mail to command. On UNIX platform, the mail feature always behaves as if a mail to command was issued. Planning Information Installability: CATIA WLS products are delivered on CD-ROM, including documentation. It is designed so customers can install the system, customize it and get started with few manual interventions and minimum skills within one hour. Direct Customer Support: Direct customer support is provided under the PLM ESO. This fee service enhances the customer s productivity by providing voice and electronic access to the PLM Support Center. The ESO help desk will answer questions pertaining to the installation, administration, use, and handling of suspected software defects for eligible products. The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities. 7 Shipment of this release is scheduled to be completed by April 19, Basic License: To order a basic license for a 5691 program type, specify the program number (5691-XXX) and feature number 9001 for asset registration. Select the charge option, either primary license charge (PLC) with the corresponding quantity-based annual license charge (ALC), or the quantity-based yearly license charge (YLC). PLC/ALC Licenses: The first license must be at usage level 1. The maximum number of licenses at a usage level must be ordered before ordering the next usage level. Customers may report problems against a given release of CATIA WLS V5 for a limited time only. This service period ends four months after the general availability of the second subsequent Release of CATIA WLS V5. Therefore, the end of service (EOS) date for CATIA WLS V5.6 will be four months after the general availability date of this release. Problems may be reported electronically, by facsimile or mail and will be responded to via the same medium used to submit the problem. IBM will respond to customer inquiries within two business days of electronic or facsimile receipt and seven days of mail receipt advising of the problem disposition. When using the PMR option, all communications will be through the PMR. It is the customer s responsibility to monitor and update their problem no less than once a week. If the problem reported is not known to be a code-related problem, the customer will be informed that IBM will continue to work on it provided the customer has an Enhanced Support Offering (ESO) contract. On the left side, click on Service and Support Offerings, and then on the next frame expand Support Offerings, and select CATIA/ENOVIA Enhanced Support Offering. Preventive Service is delivered through the next Release of CATIA WLS V5. The new Release will also include corrections to problems, depending on the time of their submission and their severity. Corrective Service for CATIA WLS V5 Releases is delivered through Service Packs. A Service Pack includes corrections for Severity 1 problems in CATIA production systems reported on this Release and all corrections available for all components at the time it is built. Service Packs are provided at the same time for all platforms currently supported. Each Service Pack supersedes the previous one and may be installed on top of the released level or on top of a previous Service Pack. No individual corrections will be delivered between two Service Packs. No update of online documentation will be provided through Service Packs. Customers may request a correction via a Service Pack for Severity 1 problems. A Severity 1 problem is defined as: A problem stopping production this means the customer is already using the level for which he requests a fix in a production environment. A problem preventing migration in this case, the customer must provide the migration plan. A problem halting testing of a given level in this case, a fix will allow the customer to continue the testing. Installation problem a problem which prevents the customer from installing or using the CATIA WLS. Regression problems reported as regressions may be due to an operation which was being performed erroneously or created incorrect data with a previous release and the current release no longer permits these operations. Therefore, each problem reported as a regression must be evaluated, and true regressions will be handled as Severity 1 problems. Requests for corrections to a given Release of CATIA WLS V5 may be made up to four months after the next Release of CATIA WLS V5 becomes generally available. After that date, no new Service Packs will be built for that Release. This final Service Pack will still be available for ordering on CD-ROM via the IBM Support Centers for the duration of the service period of each Release. (This service period ends four months after the general availability of the second subsequent Release of CATIA WLS V5.) With the availability of this release, the end of corrective service date for CATIA WLS V5.7 will be four months after the general availability date of this release; the end of service (EOS) date for CATIA V5.6 will be four months after the general availability date of this release.
