Unsupported Browsers Safari Atlas Cloud are planning to announce official support for Safari in the near future, although this will not include the use of in-application testing. Microsoft Edge The Microsoft Edge web browser provided with Windows 10 is not compatible with Java or the PSI Java-free Plug-in. If you are using Windows 10 then please use Internet Explorer 11 which comes pre-installed on Windows 10. To change the default web browser from Microsoft Edge to Microsoft Internet Explorer, follow the instructions below: 1. Within the search field type: default browser and press Enter 2. Then click Choose a default web browser from the top of the search results

Internet Explorer is now the default web browser within Windows 10 Pop-Up Blocker/Tabbed Browsing If you use a pop-up blocker, pop-up windows must be allowed for *.enlight.net and *enlightks.com. 11 PSI Java-free Plug-in Unsupported Java Atlas Cloud will no longer be providing support for Java-based in-application testing. Java-based testing will continue to be available within ET2 and should work for the foreseeable future, providing no changes are made by the third-party application providers (Microsoft and Oracle) that affect its operation. Supported Java-free Plug-in In-application testing will now be supported using a Java-free environment. The Java-free environment requires all system requirements to be met and a Plug-in installation prior to use. Installing the PSI In-application Plugin prior to Testing 1. Download the PSIIAPlugin.msi installation file from the link below: 2. Press the Run button.

12 3. Press the Next button 4. If a prompt appears, click Yes. The installation should not take long.

13 5. A message will appear to show that the Setup Wizard is complete. Click the Finish button.

15 Printer Configuration (Required for all versions of Microsoft Office) ECDL/ICDL tests require that you have a functional printer and driver installed. Please perform the following steps on all computers used for testing. Windows 8/10 1. Click the Start button, or press the Windows key button 2. Type Devices and click Devices & Printers 3. Underneath the Printers section, ensure the green tick is marking a functional printer (you can test if a printer is functional by using right click > Properties > Print test page) 4. If the required printer is on the list, but does not have the green tick covering it, right click the printer and click Set as default printer 5. If the printer does not reside within the list at all, then please follow the manufacturer s instructions for installation Windows 7 1. Click the Start button 2. Click Devices and Printers 3. 16 Issues with.net Framework Another problem that you might encounter with Atlas Cloud is the.net Framework error. Your computer must have the.net Framework version 3.5 installed. Even though you might have version 4 installed, you still need to have the 3.5 version. In order to install.net Framework 3.5 go the following website: Click the Download button.

17 Click Download and install this feature in order to start the installation. Wait until it downloads and installs the required files.

18 Click the Close button to finish the installation process. If an error is still being shown, there are only 2 options left from our end to help out: Option 1: To make an appointment with Holistic Technologies, to come at our testing centre to work out the diagnostic test on one of our PC s. Please note that a fee of 3.00 is applicable. Option 2: To make an appointment with one of our technical staff, in order for them to install the required setup files on your device. Please note that a fee of 5.00 is applicable.

19 Logging into Your Account After the Check System Requirements marks everything OK, you can logon into your account using the provided username and password. Once you login, the following screen should appear. The diagnostic tests are found under I/ECDL Diag Standard.

20 Diagnostic Test From the list of available diagnostic tests, select the test you wish to take. Then the Automatic System Requirements Check window will appear. The check verifies that the computer fulfils the requirements to run the selected test. Click Continue when it s ready.

21 Another screen appears with the test properties. It explains the rules for this test and what are you allowed to do. Just click on the Start button to start your Diagnostic Test.

However, it is your responsibility to make sure that you have the latest Java application installed on your machine. In order to launch the diagnostic test using Java, you need to click on the Launch with Java link which is found at the bottom-right corner. Press the Continue button and Start to start the diagnostic test.

24 The Test Window Once you have started your test, you will see the test window displayed which consists of 4 parts: 1. Control Panel 2. Question Text 3. Question Area 4. Answer Button Please note that in some questions (especially the multiple choice questions) there might be two answer buttons, one at the control panel and one below the question area. They serve for the same purpose and it does not matter which one you use.

25 Working Through the Control Panel Answering a Question When you have made your answer to the specific question you must press the Answer button to confirm that answer you will automatically move on to the next question. Note: The Answer button will be greyed out (disabled) until you attempt to answer the question. Clearing an Answer The Clear button is used when you have made an attempt to answer a question and would like to clear that answer and attempt that specific question again. Note: In an ECDL Certification test, once you have selected the Answer button you are not permitted to clear that question and re-answer it. Suspending the Test The Suspend Test button can be used to leave a diagnostic test without ending it. Using this button will take you back to the catalogue page, from where you can also resume the test at a later time.

26 Note: This button is not available in the actual Certification Exam. However the invigilator can suspend the test if any problem during the actual exam arises. Therefore ECDL Certification Exams cannot be suspended by the students and must be completed in one attempt. Ending the Test The End Test button is used if you want to end a test prior answering all questions. Kindly note that once answering all questions within the test, you will automatically see a message confirming this. Navigation Buttons The Navigation buttons are used to navigate between questions. Clicking the Nav button will display the navigation window and allow the user to move to another question within the test. The Prev and Next buttons allow the user to skip forwards or backwards. Navigation Bar

27 The Navigation Bar is a scrollable bar located below the question area. It shows the current position within the test by highlighting it. It also shows which questions have already been answered and which remain to be answered. Note: For Diagnostic Tests, the navigation bar can also be used to select and navigate to a different question.
