5 Section 1 - New Features and Enhancements Trend Data FTP Upload Section 1 - New Features and Enhancements Compatibility with Niagara 4 Appliance Firmware Revision is fully compatible with the Niagara 4 Appliance. DXR and RDY Applications Firmware Revision has added support for Room, Laboratory and Fume Hood DXR applications. The TC controllers now support RDY2000BN Series sensors. Ability to discover and add RDY devices to the field panel using Field Panel Web Server (FPWeb) UI. Additional Driver Support Firmware Revision has updated Modbus Driver on the PXC Compact 16/24 controllers and Johnson Driver. Trend Data FTP Upload The BACnet Field Panel Web Server (FPWeb) Trend Editor and Panel Configuration Editor have been updated allowing you to configure the FTP Server. NOTE: This feature is not supported if you are using the TALON View workstation as a mass storage device. If the workstation restores the database, the FTP Upload Enabled check box will not be set properly for trends already configured to use this feature. The FTP Upload Enabled check box allows you to enable FTP upload of data collected for a Trend Object. 5 17

6 Section 1 - New Features and Enhancements Trend Data FTP Upload The Panel Configuration Editor has been updated, allowing you to configure automatic export of Trend data to a user-defined network location using the FTP Server tab. 6 17

7 Section 1 - New Features and Enhancements Trend Interval Modification without Deletion of Existing Trend Records The IP Address field allows you to enter the IP address of the FTP server. The Username field allows you to enter a user name associated with the user account registered with the FTP server. The Password field allows you to enter a password associated with the user account registered with the FTP server. NOTES: - If you have no intention to use the Trend Data Upload function, there is no need to enter information to these fields. - If no IP Address or Username is entered, the FTP Server is considered to be undefined. A reminder will appear in the Trend Editor if you try to enable FTP upload for a Trend Object. - Saving FTP Server settings will not result in a panel coldstart. The newly saved settings will take effect upon the next FTP upload attempt. Trend data is now in a.csv format and can consist of one user-defined trended object in a single.csv file export. NOTICE! The export file is then appended with each export event. You now have the ability to change buffer size and/or interval of a BACnet Trend Log object, without losing Trend buffer data at the field panel. If external data storage is full or If the FTP upload is not successful, an indication displays in the FPWeb UI and at the HMI. Trend Interval Modification without Deletion of Existing Trend Records NOTE: This feature is not supported if you are using the TALON View workstation, as a mass storage device. If the Trend Interval is modified, the changes to the Trend Definition are not uploaded to the workstation and will not be downloaded on a coldstart. Max Samples Modification without Deletion of Existing Trend Records If the number of Max Samples is modified, existing trend records will be kept as long as the new buffer size allows. NOTICE! If the number of samples is decreased, some of the trend records are inevitably removed from the buffer as the buffer will be reduced in size. Modbus 250 and Modbus 500 Driver With Firmware Revision, support is provided for the Modbus Driver on TC Compact-24/16 F models with limited point count for Modbus 250 or 500. For more information see the Modbus and Modbus 250/500/1000 Drivers for TC Modular, TC-36 and TC Compact 16/24 Technical Reference ( T), Supported Hardware section. 7 17

8 Section 1 - New Features and Enhancements TX-I/O Modules TX-I/O Modules The number of TX-I/O modules on TC Compact -36 controllers has been increased from two to four modules. Import and Export of Database to the Field Panel The Field Panel Web Server (FPWeb) now supports both the.db and.zdb file formats for import and export of the field panel database. The file format is created by using TALON Commissioner that is then imported to the field panel. You can also take the database (.db) file from the field panel and make it accessible to the TALON Commissioner. Field Panel Web UI Field Panel Web (FPWeb) UI now displays the Panel ID string for use with the licensing of compatible product features. Siemens Installer The Siemens Installer program allows you the option to install the WCIS files, along with Launch Pad, and provides a shortcut icon to WCIS from the Launch Pad home page. 8 17

10 Section 2 - Fixed Issues Section 2 - Fixed Issues Solutions for the following issues have been implemented in TALON Firmware Revision : Remote Notifications now work with SMTP Servers. Improved performance of BACnet FLNs, including the ability to add more DXRs to a field panel. The field panel no longer sends an initial value before the UEC is reloaded from flash. UECs last restore time used to detect quick failures. It now has improved recovery after a cold start or power failure. Field Panel Web Server (FPWeb) is compatible with Internet Explorer (IE) 9, 10 or 11, Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Chrome. Directory and file level security has been added to prevent unauthenticated access and change to the files, steal passwords, and so on, on field panels. Field panels no longer lock up when it receives a large amount of Subscribe COV or when it sends out an Unconfirmed COV Notification repeatedly. Field panels no longer send too many COVs for points outside of the COV Limit while in the alarm proofing state. BACnet field panels no longer lock up after deleting trends log from TALON View or TALON Datamate Advanced (DMA). Web Server field panels configured for SMTP now commands a point properly and sends an notification even if the SMTP Server sends out long greeting messages to the client. Field panels no longer lock up when the panels receives an invalid IP packets. MBE1.0 points with a slope of 0.1 no longer get commanded to the wrong value in a TCP slave controller. The ability to add an integration device in a TALON field panel with a Johnson Driver has been added. The ability to command a BACnet IP BT300 device on a TC-36 has been added. The Field Panel Web UI Panel Configuration Editor now allows you to set the FLN settings of the secondary port on the first attempt. This build adds support for the Siemens RDY2000BN Series sensors known as Siemens BACnet devices: The RDY application range is 14,900 to 14,999. The RDY device on a TALON system must be a master (not a slave) device. The RDY device can be discovered and added to the field panel using the Field Panel Web User Interface (UI). Trend samples collected during a one day span has been corrected

Flash upgrades are installed using Firmware Loading Tool (FLT) Revision 5 and later. 12 Section 4 - System Requirements and Compatibility User Interface and Firmware Compatibility Section 4 - System Requirements and Compatibility The current Firmware Revision in our field panel controllers is fully compatible with Desigo CC 2.1 and later. If TALON View, TALON Datamate Advanced (DMA) or TALON Commissioner are to be used with Firmware Revision, then Revision 5, SP-2 is required for compatibility. One of the new features of Firmware Revision, Auto-export of Trend Data, is not recommended on job sites using a workstation. See the following table for recommended configurations in which to use the Trend FTP backup feature. Backups of field panels do not include the FTP configuration for a Trend. This means restored panels must be manually reconfigured for this feature. Desigo CC can be used to backup field panels using this feature, but if you re not using Desigo CC, then field panels using the Trend FTP feature must be backed up to flash to ensure the settings are not lost after a restart. If this feature is to be used, the parameters must be manually reset after a database restore. ** As of TALON View Revision 5, if a trend interval is modified at the FPWeb UI or HMI, the modified trend definition will fail to upload to the TALON View workstation. The modified trend definition will upload successfully to TALON Datamate Advanced (DMA) and TALON Commissioner, but no procedure is available to change the trend interval stored at the workstation without erasing the existing trend object. User Interface and Firmware Compatibility This section outlines which user interface revisions are compatible with certain firmware revisions. For proper functionality and access of the new features, you must upgrade the user interface (UI) at the field panel as well as upgrade the firmware. The UI upgrade is free and provides you with the latest defect resolutions. See the following compatibility chart for the minimum firmware revision required to fully support each revision of FINlite and the FPWeb UI
