2 Notes on System Architecture The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver with Firmware 2.x (Figure 1) supports the following: A maximum of 96 devices. Three physical FLNs (FLN 1 through FLN 3), which can be used for connecting and addressing Johnson Controls N2 Master devices on RS-485 FLNs. TX-I/O Modules. Maximum of 8,000 APOGEE points per driver. Three virtual FLNs (FLN 4 through FLN 6) for mapping devices on P1. NOTE: P1 devices are connected through physical FLNs 1 through 3, but are addressed through virtual FLNs 4 through 6. 3 Notes on System Architecture The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver with Firmware 3.x (Figure 2) supports the following: BACnet MS/TP or BACnet/IP ALN on Firmware 3.x. If the driver is on a BACnet MS/TP network, you can use a standard field panel with Firmware Revision 3.1 or later as a router to connect to an Insight workstation or Desigo CC management station. Do not use an Integration Driver as the router. A maximum of 96 devices. Three physical FLNs (FLN 1 through FLN 3), which can be used for connecting and addressing Johnson Controls N2 Master devices on RS-485 FLNs. TX-I/O Modules. Maximum of 8,000 APOGEE points per driver. Three virtual FLNs (FLN 4 through FLN 6) for mapping devices on P1. NOTE: P1 devices are connected through physical FLNs 1 through 3, but are addressed through virtual FLNs 4 through 6. Functionality The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver provides communication between the APOGEE Automation System and the Johnson Controls N2 Master system. The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver can be loaded into PXC Modular or PXC-36 hardware. The driver is a microprocessor-based, multi-tasking platform designed for multi-system communication and control. When using a P2 ALN, the Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver communicates with Insight software, other APOGEE field panels and controllers, and the JCI N2 Master devices plus the APOGEE Automation System. When using a BACnet ALN, the Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver communicates with Insight workstation or Desigo CC management station software, other APOGEE field panels and controllers, and the JCI N2 Master devices plus the APOGEE Automation System. Through the Insight workstation or Desigo CC management station, the Johnson Controls points can be monitored and commanded. The Johnson Controls points integrated into the APOGEE Automation System can be accessed by system applications, such as Powers Process Control Language (PPCL), scheduling, trending, and alarming. The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver will not affect, in any way, the operating sequence or safeties as factory-programmed into the JCI N2 Master devices plus the APOGEE Automation System. The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver is fully compatible with the Field Panel Web Server. You can now incorporate the benefits of Field Panel Web Server user interface and Launch Pad in combination with this popular Integration Driver. This driver is also compatible with FIN Builder and FIN Lite based graphics which are licensed options. Integrated points are fully available in FIN Builder graphics, plus the controller database is supported by the Field Panel Web Server configuration tools. Keys to Success Ensure that all Johnson Controls equipment to be integrated is supported by the Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver. 3
