1 Login to Blackboard on the Development System Log into our DEV system at with your MyFSU username and password. You should have courses there. If you have trouble with your courses there or if you need a course, please contact Mary Holmes, Terri Aldrich, or Scott Randle. Please Note: You must have the s in to access our development system. STEP 1: Connect Blackboard to Echo 360 Lecture Capture Before you connect your Blackboard course to Echo 360, you need to create a profile. You only have to do this one. You will need to go into one of your blackboard courses. 1. Go to a content area. 2. Expand the Tools link. 3. Click the Echo 360 option. 4. Give the video you will create a name and click the Submit button. Page 1

2 Click on the link that was just created. Click the Launch button to connect Blackboard to Echo 360. You will not have a section listed in the drop- down menu, so click the blue Create it link to create a section. Expand the Choose a course box and click the Create a new course link. Type in a Course code and a Course name. Click the Save button. Page 2

3 Type in the Section Code and click the blue Continue to Echo360 button. You will end up in a new tab on your web browser with the screen as seen below. Important: Before proceeding, get your from Echo and create a password that will be used in the next step. Make the password the same as your MyFSU so that you do not forget it. Page 3

4 STEP 2: Download the Personal Capture Before recording videos, you will need to install the Personal Capture onto your computer. While in Echo from the previous step, click the gear and select the Downloads link. In the Personal Capture section, click the link to download the Personal Capture software for the operating system you are using. Double click the downloaded file to install the Personal Capture software. Follow the install instructions through completion. Page 4

5 STEP 3: Record Lecture To get videos to the Echo Personal Capture library, you will first need to find and run the Personal Capture program you downloaded previously in the steps above. On your computer, find the Personal Capture software and start it up. You can Record a Presentation After opening the Echo Personal Capture software, click the Start Recording button. Give the video a name and description. Click the blue Launch Desktop Recorder button. You will see the screen below. It has a list of previous recordings. Click the Start Recording button. Page 5

6 You will have options to configure your setup before starting the recording. The mic is working as indicated by the green bar on the left. The web camera is not working, as it is not enabled. Click the Configure button below to set up the web camera or multiple screens. The Audio/Video Settings allows me to record my screen on Video (Left) and to record my web camera on Video (Right). Any inputs available to my computer (Doc Camera, Two video cameras, Two screens, etc.) will appear in the drop down selection box. Click the Save button to continue. Page 6

7 Now the web camera option will allow me to enable it and the web camera video will appear. Click Start Capture to begin recording. After you stop the recording, you will be in the screen shown on the right. Give your recording a title (at the top left of the screen). You can edit your video (click Apply Edits button at bottom when finish editing). Click the Publish Recording button to save the recording to the library. Page 7

8 Before your students will see the video, it must be published. If it has a Recorded status, select the video and click the Publish Recording button at the bottom of the screen. Page 8

9 STEP 4: Add Recordings to a Content Area for Students to View In STEP 1, you created a link using the four-step instructions below. Now you simply need to click on the link you created. 1. Go to a content area. 2. Expand the Tools link. 3. Click the Echo 360 option. 4. Give the video you will create a name and click the Submit button. Click on the link that you created earlier so that you can direct it to the video you created in STEP 3. Page 9

10 You will get this screen once again. Click the Launch button to connect Blackboard to Echo 360. This time, you will see a screen similar to the one below, except you will not have any classes listed. In the example below, the Course name is COMM 121 and the Class for this recording was held on Monday, October 12. The Class stores the recording. To add your recording, click the New Class button and give the recording a name and a date. To add recordings to the class, click the blue + button. Select the Add video option. Page 10

11 You can upload a video file from your computer or you can import a video from the Echo 360 Personal Capture library. Click the Import from your library button. Select the video to import from the library and click the blue DONE button. When the students log into Blackboard, they will see the LTI screen and will click the Launch button. Page 11

12 The student will next see the list of classes. They will select a day and click the blue Go to Classroom button to watch the video. Page 12
