1 NeurOptimal Upgrade Guide 2.0 to 3.0 ATTENTION NO2 PERSONAL USERS: YOU MUST LOG ON FOR A ZENCONNECT SESSION (FORMERLY MOUSECALL) PRIOR TO YOUR UPGRADE OR ALL OF YOUR REMAINING SESSIONS WILL BE LOST. Please Note: Acer Systems do NOT support the NO3 Upgrade. Do not attempt this if you have an Acer system.

2 **This upgrade requires you to follow prompts as it runs. Please stay by your system throughout the process. 1. Is your system a Microsoft Tablet? If yes, go to Step 2. Is your system a Microsoft Laptop? If yes, go to Step 2. Is your system an Asus laptop? If yes, go to Step 2. Is your system an Acer Laptop? We re sorry, the Acer systems are too old and will not support NO3. Please do not attempt to install NO3 on your Acer system. Contact carolann@neuroptimal.com for guidance on purchasing a replacement system. 2. Do you have W10 installed on your system? To find out, type About your PC into Cortana and look at the Windows Specifications. If you do not have W10, you will need to purchase and install it. You can use this link: Microsoft Products require W10 Pro, Asus Products require W10 Home 3. Perform all Windows updates. You can find the instructions to do this here: 4. Perform a Disk Clean. Here s how: 5. Defragment your drive. Here s how: 6. If you are upgrading a Personal system, please logon for a ZenConnect Session (formerly mousecall) now, so we can take your sessions off your system. Continuing without doing this will result in losing all sessions currently on your system. Pro upgrades continue to the next step. 7. Start the download process. Click on this link: Use these Login Credentials: Username: zengaruser Password: no3upgrade Select Save and then Run when prompted. 2

After you have successfully downloaded the Upgrade_to_NOv3.exe file from the link we provided you in this , double tap on it and the following window will appear: This is a standard Windows defense mechanism that is meant to protect the system from running unknown applications. Given we know what this application is, it can safely be ignored. Select More Info. 9. The Window will now look like this. Select Run Anyway. 3

4 10. The first page of the Upgrade to NeurOptimal 3 Setup Wizard will now appear. Click Next. If this doesn t automatically appear, hover over the NO head on your task bar at the bottom of the screen, you will see it appear, click on it to bring it to the front of your screen. Keep an eye on the task bar throughout this process if something doesn t appear as it should. 11. The wizard will now move to the next phase, which is for the most part hands-free and automatic. 4

5 12. Another window will appear, pictured below. This is the removal of NO2 components. 13. When prompted to uninstall VISA Shared Components, click OK. If it doesn t appear on its own, look at the task bar for an icon that looks like a v. 14. Accept the End User license Agreements and continue. 15. After NO2 and its associated components are removed, the wizard will display the Installing NeurOptimal progress. 5

6 16. You will see this window pop up at least twice, in both cases select OK. (May be in task bar) 17. When the Almost done window appears Please READ IT and press OK. 18. Lastly, the Ready to reboot window will appear. After you press OK, your system will reboot. 6

7 19. The system will reboot and the desktop will be black. This is normal. 20. Type Neuro in Cortana to find NeurOptimal. When it pops up, right click it and select Pin to Start menu. 21. Find NO3 in the Start Panel and launch it by double tapping the icon 22. As NO3 launches, you will need the Activation code. In Cortana, perform a search for About and select About Your PC. Look for Device Name and copy what is next to it. 23. Send an to licensing@neuroptimal.com with the following information: Your Name Device Name (very important!) Which version of NeurOptimal you want licensed and any special instructions, if applicable. (ie. If you own a Personal unit, how many sessions you want loaded on it from your session bank) 24. Upon receipt of your activation code, launch NO3 and enter the code. 7

On the first launch of NO3, two windows will appear, one for G-Force (this is the screen you watch when doing a default session using NO3) and one for Kodi (this is the screen you use when doing a session watching a video). The G-Force window will appear as follows: 26. Check both boxes, then select Allow access. 8

9 27. Kodi will have a window like this. Again, check off both items and press Allow access. 28. Kodi and G-Force are now configured with Windows Defender Firewall. 29. Well done! You have successfully uninstalled NO2 and installed NO3. PERSONAL SYSTEMS: At this point the system will automatically backup the data from your NO2 system. The time it takes to do this will depend on how much data there is. PRO SYSTEMS: Follow the prompts concerning Data Migration (ie. Bringing your old client data into NO3). The time it takes to do this will depend on how much data there is to migrate. 30. Click Continue when you see this window. 31. You are now all set to run sessions! Log on for a mousecall when you can (not urgent) for your final cleanup (desktop set, different settings set etc). Mousecalls are open on a first come first served basis, M-F, 7am-7pm EDT. 9

10 Woohoo! I m done! Now What? 1. Join the NO3 PASS Support Group on Facebook. This is the way we are supporting our NO3 users. If you don t do Facebook, join just to access the group. NO need to post pictures or status updates Join the Facebook NeurOptimal Community Group Go back to the NO3 downloads page (where you got this guide) and download the NO3 manual and the NO3 Need to Know Guide. Sometimes a message similar to the one pictured below will appear from Zengar. Please take note of it and follow any instructions to update NO3. 10
