This allows the node electronics and ancillary I/O to be driven by isolated network power (per customer request). There is no direct connection between (V+ & V-) Network supply and +24 VDC (Network derived & isolated). -4 -

5 DeviceNet CONFIGURATION: The configuration of this device requires an EDS file. This file is programmed within the communication node and thus can be read with appropriate software. Alternatively, the EDS file is available on disk or can be downloaded from our web site. SWITCH or SOFTWARE SETTABLE ATTRIBUTES: The Numatics DeviceNet interface in the Robot or Pedestal Welder manifolds can be configured manually via the internal DIP and Rotary switches, or can be software configurable. The configuration mode is selectable via DIP Switch bit # 5. Refer to Table 1 below: Configuration Mode Via Switches Via Software DIP Switch bit #5 ON OFF Table 1 MAC ID (Network Address): The MAC ID (Network address) is set via the two rotary switches. Rotary switch #1, designated by RSW1, is the tens digit. Rotary switch #2, designated by RSW2, is the units digit. BAUD RATE: The baud rate is set via DIP switch bit #1 and #2. 8 DIAGNOSTICS: Communication Node LED Functions DeviceNet TM Device Net Upon power up, the Network Status LED and Module Status LED indicate the status of the communication node unit. The table below details the LED indicators status. Network Status LED - Indicates the status of the communication link. Status Indication Description Device is not on-line. This may be due to not having Off Not Powered/ Not On-Line completed the Dup_MAC_ID test or power may not be applied to the device. Check Module Status LED. Flashing Green On-Line, Not Connected Green Link OK, On-Line, Connected Device is on-line but has no connections in the established state. The device has passed the Dup_MAC_ID test, is on-line, but has no established connections. For a group 2 only device, it means that the device is not allocated to a master. The device is on-line and has connections in the established state. For a Group 2 only device it means that the device is allocated to a Master. Red Critical Line Failure detected an error that has rendered it incapable of communicating on the network. (Duplicate MAC ID, or Failed communication to device. The device has Bus-off) Flashing Red Comm. Failure Communication failure - one or more I/O connections have timed out. Module Status LED - Indicates the device status Status Indication Description Off No Power There is no power applied to the device. Green Device Operational The device is operating in a normal condition. -8 -

9 VALVE COILS: Diagnostic information on the state of the valve solenoid coils is available via internal input status bits. Information on whether the valve solenoid coils are shorted or open can be decoded using the tables below: When an Output (coil) is energized (Output = 1) the following faults can be identified: Internal Input Status Bit State Fault condition 0 No faults Shorted Valve Coil, Over 1 Current, or Over temp.
