2 ECOPotential description ECOPOTENTIAL is a large European funded H2020 project that focuses on serving Protected Areas; blending Earth Observations from remote sensing and in situ measurements, data analysis and modeling of current and future ecosystem conditions and services. ECOPOTENTIAL considers cross scale geosphere biosphere interactions at regional to continental scales, addressing longterm and large scale environmental and ecological challenges. ECOPOTENTIAL focuses its activities and pilot actions on a targeted set of internationally recognized Protected Areas in Europe Protected Areas include mountain, arid, coastal and marine ecosystems
