3 INTRODUCTION BACKGROUND Microsoft Intune is a cloud service that provides management capabilities for mobile devices, mobile applications, and PCs. These management capabilities help organizations provide their employees access to corporate data, applications, and resources, while helping to protect their corporate information. The scope of this project is to enroll ios and Android mobile devices during the transition from the current Rogers contract to the new Bell contract, in order to more effectively manage company-owned devices and protect corporate data on these devices. Microsoft Intune provides IS Div with the ability to take the following actions after you enroll your mobile device to make sure information is secure: Remotely reset your device to factory settings, reset the PIN, or lock your device if it is lost or stolen. Remove organization-related files and apps (without removing your personal files or apps). Ensure personal security on the device by requiring a password on a PIN. Make your device compatible with our security standards, which helps you as well as the organization. Furthermore, as one of the early adopters of a mobile device enrolled with MS Intune at CFMWS, you are uniquely placed to facilitate the transition for your co-workers. Page 3

5 GETTING STARTED STAGE 1 MS INTUNE GETTING STARTED Intune enrolment requires downloading the Intune Company Portal app. In order to access the app store on your device you will require an account (Apple ID or a Google Play account, depending upon your OS). Prior to following the enrollment steps below, sign in to the app store (Apple Store or Play Store) if you already have an account, or follow the steps on the sign in page to create a new account. For new accounts, we recommend that you use your cfmws.com address. Once you have successfully signed in to the app store, complete the following steps to enroll your device in Intune (Videos Google Play, App Store): Samsung Android: 1. Press Home Play Store 2. Sign in Use existing Google account or create a new account (consider using CFMWS address) Follow prompts Sign In 3. Search in the Search box, type company portal Intune Company Portal 7. Sign in sign in to work using your CFMWS address NEXT network password Sign In 8. CFMWS Access Setup (Create work profile) CONTINUE CONTINUE NEXT 9. Set your workspace ACCEPT 10. Hold down power button Slide to power off Power on Enter device passcode Swipe up from the bottom of the screen Turn off Airplane Mode Note The Android and ios warnings you see simply verify that you want to enroll your device. STAGE 2 DEVICE TESTING You are encouraged to work with your device to complete your typical personal and business functions. If you run into technical problems that require IT support (e.g. your device hangs or locks you out; a feature does not work as expected; you cannot view a required document), please open a ticket with the ITSS Help Desk at: itss.cfmws.com. 7 CONTENT TRANSFER GUIDELINES Below is a summary guideline intended to set expectations and ensure that Customers are aware of the role of IS Division during this transition. Please Note Non-business apps and related data may be lost during the transition, and these are not IS Division s responsibility. It is the users responsibility to move /reset these apps. Business s, Contacts, Calendar, memos and tasks (IS Division is responsible) Automatically saved and transferred (because the device is synched with Outlook). Check for any local contacts (saved on the device/sim) and transfer these manually. Pictures, Music, Videos, Documents (IS Division can assist) Can be transferred by using Blackberry Link (which saves locally on your PC) and then copied to the new device. If Link does not work, ITSS can assist with a MicroSD card technology. BBM contacts (IS Division can assist) BBM is available for Android and iphone. You can download the app from the Store. Contacts will be ported over by logging in to the app (with BlackberryID). TXT message (Not easy User is responsible) There are some (free) Android apps that may help to transfer SMS messages. An easy solution for iphone is not available. Generally, we recommend that users manually save any important data from SMS-messages before returning their Blackberry. Transferring APPS (User is responsible) Apps that are cloud based (such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and many others) should be available in Android/iOS versions (and just logging-in should bring back the data). Apps that are not cloud based (local) or Blackberry-only: The data may be lost during the transition (hint: some apps may save backup data on SD card more investigation required) but Customers are advised that there is a potential risk of data loss.
