How to enroll SMC owned Android device into Microsoft 365 Intune

1 How to enroll SMC owned Android device into Microsoft 365 Intune Open Google Play app store and download Microsoft Corporation Intune Company Portal. Search for company p or Intune for example. After you installed it please open it. NOTE: After you are done enrolling it, see the Tips & Tricks section towards the end of the document to finish the secure enrollment etc.

2 You can also find the Company Portal among your other apps on your phone

3 Follow along prompts and Continue or Next or Allow configuration changes. Screens might be in slightly different order (Cloud setup changes occasionally) or screens might be missing if a setting was already previously set. IMPORTANT: When signing into Microsoft 365 Cloud and Intune products always use your network/computer credentials followed not your address.

4 Sign in redirected to 1smc Okta page

5 Answer prompts for CONTINUE and NEXT

6 If security prompts come up for this app, please ALLOW or ACTIVATE them or it might not work

7 In case these screens come up please select that you have read and agreed to all the terms and select Confirm

8 Select Continue, then select Accept in dialog window.

9 This step might take a minute or more. On the second screen select Done.

10 While the device setup is finishing up you might get several additional prompts. For example in this one select the device type Company Owned Device. If you don t you might not be able to use all available applications on your device.

11 Certain default apps are automatically installed, please go to Apps inside Company Portal and then the special Work Google Play store for additional available apps to install.

12 All SMC Android for Work Apps are contained in the Workspace folder. Outlook is installed by default. When opening it please again use your Network/Computer ID to add your account, do not use your address. Then select CONTINUE.

13 Your will populate gradually. For how to change the Inbox to now display the Focused Inbox please see training in Actuate or other FAQs

14 You re all set! Device is enrolled. Now for install of applications.

15 You can see a list of Apps provided/suggested by SMC in the Company Portal app version of the Google Play app. Required apps will be installed automatically. Please check through the other apps to see which ones you will need and install them

16 You will most likely receive several prompts to update your security settings. Company policy requires a minimum of 6 characters now for your phone password. It can t be consecutive or repeating numbers. (Can t use or etc)

18 Tips and Tricks Below are some suggested settings/changes that we recommend setting after enrolling your device. Security & Compliance settings SMC is implementing more secure settings for all devices including our mobile phones. Make sure to follow the prompts inside the Company Portal to for example Set the Passcode/Pin to 6 digit minimum Turn on Secure Startup/Require PIN to start phone to encrypt the data on the phone (Under Settings Biometrics & Security Secure Startup) See this document in our SMC IT Help Center for instructions/screenshots on this: Company-Portal-Compliance-Policy-update Workspace Settings to unhide Workspace app from Android menu While in Microsoft Workspace folder tap on the three dots in the upper right corner and open the Workspace settings

19 In the WORKSPACE SETTINGS menu tap on Workspace style

20 By default Hide Workspace apps is turned on. Turn it off to show Workspace apps next to your other Android apps on the phone. That way you can also show them on your home screen.

21 Microsoft Outlook contacts in Samsung Contacts Personal contacts that synced over from Notes/Outlook contacts are showing automatically in the Outlook app. Some users prefer to also have them show in the Samsung Contacts app. See below how to turn that on. Tap on the search icon to see recent contacts as well as contacts on your device already by selecting See all contacts

23 In the Outlook app menu select the Settings gear icon to enable contact sync. In the 2 nd screen tap on your username@smcusa.com Office 365 to change settings for your account

24 Tap on Sync contacts switch to turn on synchronization of contacts. Make sure to Allow Outlook to access your contacts, or this won t work.

25 After you confirm that Sync contacts is now active, go back to your Workprofile folder and open the Samsung Contacts app

26 Your contacts might already show if the sync has happened, but if not you can doublecheck the settings by tapping SYNC WITH YOUR ACCOUNTS and making sure Outlook is active.

27 Your contacts will show in the contacts app.
