Prerequisites You must hve the system dministrtor rights to ccess the vcloud Director Service Provider Admin Portl. In browser, type the Service Provider Admin Portl URL of your vcloud Director site nd press Enter. For exmple, type VMwre, Inc. 5

The tsks view is good wy to view the sttus of tsks in your tennt portl t glnce. The view shows when the tsks were executed, nd whether they were successful. This tool cn be good first step for troubleshooting ny issues in your environment. The blue nd red infotips over the Tsks icon show the number of run nd filed tsks, respectively. u From the upper-right menu, select the Tsks icon ( ). Execute Service You cn execute vrelize Orchestrtor workflows s imported services. From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. From the left pnel, select Service Librry. 14 Mnging Custom Entities 4 The custom entity definitions in vcloud Director re object types tht re bound to vrelize Orchestrtor object types. When service provider publishes custom entity definitions to either nother service provider, or to one or more tennts, users vcloud Director cn own, mnge, nd chnge these types ccording to their needs. By executing services, service provider users nd orgniztion users cn instntite the custom entities nd pply ctions over the instnces of the objects. You cnnot chnge the type of the entity or the vrelize Orchestrtor object type, to which the entity is bound. These re the defult properties of the custom entity. If you wnt to modify ny of the defult properties, you must delete the custom entity definition nd recrete it. From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. From the left pnel, select Custom Entity Definitions. The list of custom entities displys in crd view of twelve items per pge, sorted by nmes in lphbeticl order. Ech crd shows the nme of the custom entity, the vrelize Orchestrtor type to which the entity is mpped, the type of the entity, nd description, if vilble. 2 In the crd of the selected custom entity, select Actions > Edit. A new dilog opens. 3 Modify the nme or the description of the custom entity definition. 4 Click OK to confirm the chnge. Add Custom Entity Definition You cn crete custom entity nd mp it to n existing vrelize Orchestrtor object type. From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. Note If you hve more thn one vrelize Orchestrtor server, you must crete custom entity definition for ech one of them seprtely. Type Review Click the view list icon ( ) to browse through the vilble vrelize Orchestrtor object types grouped by plug-ins. For exmple, SSH > Host. If you know the nme of the type, you cn enter it directly in the text box. For exmple SSH:Host. Review the detils tht you specified nd click Done to complete the cretion. The new custom entity definition ppers in the crd view. Custom Entity Instnces Running vrelize Orchestrtor workflow with n input prmeter being n object type tht is lredy defined s custom entity definition in vcloud Director shows the output prmeter s n instnce of custom entity. From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. From the left pnel, select Custom Entity Definitions. The list of custom entities displys in crd view of twelve items per pge, sorted by nmes in lphbeticl order. Ech crd shows the nme of the custom entity, the vrelize Orchestrtor type to which the entity is mpped, the type of the entity, nd description, if vilble. 2 In the crd of the selected custom entity, click Intnces. The vilble instnces disply in grid view. 3 Click the list br ( ) on the left of ech entity to disply the ssocited workflows. A new dilog opens. 3 Follow the steps of the Associte Custom Entity to VRO Workflow wizrd. Step Select VRO Workflow Select Workflow Input Prmeter Review Assocition Detils Select one of the listed workflows. These re the workflows tht re vilble in the Service Librry pge. Select n vilble input prmeter from the list. You ssocite the type of the vrelize Orchestrtor workflow with the type of the custom entity definition. Review the detils tht you specified nd click Done to complete the ssocition. For exmple, if you hve custom entity of type SSH:Host, you cn ssocite it with the Add Root Folder to SSH Host workflow by selecting the sshhost input prmeter, which mtches the type of the custom entity. Dissocite n Action From Custom Entity You cn remove vrelize Orchestrtor workflow from the list of ssocited ctions. From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. From the left pnel, select Custom Entity Definitions. The list of custom entities displys in crd view of twelve items per pge, sorted by nmes in lphbeticl order. Ech crd shows the nme of the custom entity, the vrelize Orchestrtor type to which the entity is mpped, the type of the entity, nd description, if vilble. 2 In the crd of the selected custom entity, select Actions > Dissocite Action. A new dilog opens. 3 Select the workflow you wnt to remove nd click Dissocite Action. The vrelize Orchestrtor workflow is no longer ssocited with the custom entity. VMwre, Inc. 7

From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. From the left pnel, select Custom Entity Definitions. The list of custom entities displys in crd view of twelve items per pge, sorted by nmes in lphbeticl order. Ech crd shows the nme of the custom entity, the vrelize Orchestrtor type to which the entity is mpped, the type of the entity, nd description, if vilble. 2 In the crd of the selected custom entity, select Actions > Publish. A new dilog opens. 3 Choose whether you wnt to publish the custom entity definition to service providers, ll tennts, or only to selected tennts. 4 Click Sve to confirm the chnge. The custom entity definition becomes vilble to the selected prties. Delete Custom Entity You cn delete custom entity definition if the custom entity is no longer in use, if it ws configured incorrectly, or if you wnt to mp the vrelize Orchestrtor type to different custom entity. From the min menu ( ), select Content Librries. From the left pnel, select Custom Entity Definitions. The list of custom entities displys in crd view of twelve items per pge, sorted by nmes in lphbeticl order. Ech crd shows the nme of the custom entity, the vrelize Orchestrtor type to which the entity is mpped, the type of the entity, nd description, if vilble. 2 In the crd of the selected custom entity, select Actions > Delete. 3 Confirm the deletion. 19 Mnging Orgniztions 5 The vcloud Director Service Provider Admin Portl llows you to crete, configure, nd mnge vcloud Director orgniztions. Use vcloud Director Service Provider Admin Portl to mnge orgniztions, set policies to determine how users consume resources llocted to n orgniztion, nd mnge publishing nd shring of ctlogs. This chpter includes the following topics: Crete n Orgniztion Configure Ctlogs for n Orgniztion Configure Policies for n Orgniztion Crete n Orgniztion You cn crete new orgniztion from the vcloud Director Service Provider Admin Portl. From the min menu ( ), select Cloud Resources From the left pnel, select Orgniztions. The list of existing orgniztions displys in grid view. 2 To crete new orgniztion, click the +Add button. From the min menu ( ), select Cloud Resources From the left pnel, select Orgniztions. The list of existing orgniztions displys in grid view. 2 Use the list br ( orgniztion. ) on the left of ech item to disply the ctions you cn tke for ech 3 Click Ctlogs. The orgniztion's Ctlog Settings dilog opens. 4 Configure the following shring nd publishing options. Shring Allow publishing to externl ctlogs Allow subscribing to externl ctlogs Allows orgniztion dministrtors to shre this orgniztion's ctlogs with other orgniztions in this instnce of vcloud Director. If you do not select this option, orgniztion dministrtors re still ble to shre ctlogs within the orgniztion. Allows orgniztion dministrtors to publish ctlogs to orgniztions outside of this instnce of vcloud Director. Allows orgniztion dministrtors to subscribe to ctlogs outside of this instnce of vcloud Director. Configure Policies for n Orgniztion Leses, quots, nd limits constrin the bility of orgniztion users to consume storge nd processing resources. You cn modify these settings to prevent users from depleting or monopolizing n orgniztion's resources. From the min menu ( ), select Cloud Resources From the left pnel, select Orgniztions.
