They re considered grey literture since they re scientific literture which rrely undergo peer review nd if so it is mostly limited to the originting orgniztion. Also there re no generl forml publishing procedures for such reports but institutionl wide ones. In this guide the procedure for publishing Technicl t IST Austri is described. If you hve troubles with ny of the steps of depositing there is user guide for describing the process more thorough. It is possible to deposit Technicl nonymously for review purposes. If you wish to do so contct librry@ist.c.t. 4 Te c h n i c l D e p o s i t Te c h n i c l R e p o r t Go to ist.c.tpubrep nd login to your ccount with your intrnet credentils. After the login you get to your user re. Click on <New Item> The consists of six steps: Ty p e First you define the type of publiction, this genertes the msk for the publiction detils. Uplod In the first section you uplod nd license the publiction. D e s cr i ptio n Here you describe the publiction (metdt). Subjects In this section you select the fitting subjects from prefbricted list. FP7ERC projects Here you enter informtion in cse the publiction reltes to FP7ERC grnted project. Depos it These re the lst steps. At this point you gree on the terms of deposition nd declre full responsibility on copyright issues. The current step you re in is indicted green. You cn jump between the steps. Informtion lredy filled in will be retined. If you use the browser s step-bckbutton, though there could be some informtion loss. You cn puse the deposit vi <Sve nd Return> nytime. Then the item will be sved in <Mnge s>

If the file you re going to uplod is nmed in generic mnner you my consider renming it specificly (e.g. Cretor_Title_Yer). You hve different options how to dd the dt: Browse file from locl disk Drg nd drop file from locl disk Provide URL - 5 -

6 Te c h n i c l After the uplod you hve to dd some further informtion for the Technicl. Click on <Show options>. If you need ny help chnging the settings, ech entry field hs n explntory description. Just click on the checkbox with the question mrk to show the hidden help text. Amongst others here you mke the settings to generte cover pge. Tick 'Yes, prepend n utomticlly generted coverpge'. Click <Updte Metdt> before proceeding to the next step

Just click on the checkbox with the questionmrk to show the hidden help text. Amongst the individully differing entries there re some fields to fill in eqully for every Technicl : For Monogrph Type tick Technicl - 7 -

8 Te c h n i c l Within the Publiction Detils select Published for Sttus nd IST Austri for Publisher. The Dte of Publiction is the Dte of. Subjects Select one or up to three subjects. Click on the checkbox with the plus to view the min nd sub subjects you cn choose from

9 Te c h n i c l Add subjects with the <Add> button nd then click on <Next>. FP7ERC projects In cse this is FP7ERC grnted project fill in its detils: The Grnt Agreement Number nd the vilbility of the publiction nd then click on <Next>

The item will be sved in your workre nd you cn view them nd mke djustments under <Mnge s>. If everything is redy nd you gree to the terms of deposition, click on < Item Now>. You will receive sttus report showing tht the Technicl is deposited nd under review. Also preview of the record will be displyed. After the review your Technicl cn be found in (ist.c.tpubrep). And lso in chronologicl list t the Librry homepge (

(Contct the librry to receive the credentils for this ccount vi librry@ist.c.t). Moreover you hve to fill in certin fields differently. The following description leds through the whole process of depositing Technicl report if you re fmilir with this process just focus on the mrked ( ) steps which indicte the fields you hve to fill in differently. First of ll you hve to prepre two files: the nonymised mnuscript nd file with list of the uthors' nmes. (Anonymous1: Willrd Chester; Anonymous2: Hetherington, Jck etc.) Go to ist.c.tpubrep nd login to the nonymous ccount. After the login you get to your user re. Click on <New Item>

19 Te c h n i c l new version Especilly Technicl s re often published in vrious versions. So if you wnt to deposit n upgrded version of Technicl in we strongly recommend tht you link those versions in the repository, so users cn see t once which versions exist nd decide on which they prefer. To crete new version of Technicl you hve to be the owner of this prticulr document. If you re not plese contct the Librry (librry@ist.c.t). First you gve to open the older version of the respective, which you cn find in <Mnge deposits> Click on the <View item> icon. Select the tb <Actions>

20 Te c h n i c l Select <New version>. When the new version is creted you cn chnge the informtion ccordingly nd then deposit it. Select the tb <Description>

21 Te c h n i c l Click on <Edit item>. This leds you to the deposit form where you cn lter the informtion which differs to the old version nd uplod the new file

22 Te c h n i c l After depositing the new version you cn see the version's reltions in the preview. When the new version is finlly ccessible in (fter the review), the versioning is displyed in the serch results
