5 1. EDS Overview EDS (Electrnic Dispsitin System) is an nline service that allws clients t submit specified applicatins/amendments and dcuments fr surface dispsitins t SRD electrnically. Presently EDS has 5 subsystems: Public Land Dispsitin Applicatins & Amendments - This selectin will enable yu t submit applicatins r amendments fr dispsitins n public lands fr EZE, LOC, MSL, PLA, PIL, REA SML & VCE purpses. Dispsitin Maintenance - This selectin will enable yu t submit AOA Mnthly Status Reprt and create a Site Entry ntificatin. Reclamatin Certificate Applicatin Submissins - This selectin will enable yu t submit applicatin fr Reclamatin Certificate n Public Land. Public Lands Dispsitin Enhanced Apprval - All applicatins fr upstream il and gas activities, (excluding in-situ ils sands prductin, il sands mines peratins and thse dispsitins being applied fr thrugh the AOA prcess) fr the dispsitin types f Mineral Surface Lease (MSL), License f Occupatin fr access (LOC), Pipeline Agreement (PLA), and Pipeline Installatin Lease (PIL) must be submitted thrugh the "Public Land Dispsitin Enhanced Apprval" selectin #4, effective September 1st, Any dispsitin applicatins that are utside f the scpe f the "Public Land Dispsitin Enhanced Apprval" selectin #4, must be submitted thrugh the "Public Land Dispsitin Applicatin & Amendments" selectin #1, r "Dispsitin Maintenance" selectin #2,as apprpriate. Any dispsitin applicatin submissins that are in scpe f the "Public Land Dispsitin Enhanced Apprval" selectin #4, and submitted thrugh any ther selectins will be rejected. Any dispsitin applicatins submitted thrugh the "Public Land Dispsitin Enhanced Apprval" selectin #4, that are utside f the defined scpe will be rejected. Applicatin/Amendment Status Check Request - This selectin will enable yu t send a request fr the status f applicatin/amendment. This must be used t request a status f an applicatin prcessed by the Industrial, Oil and Gas Applicatins Unit. Fr details abut each f the subsystems please review the individual User Manual. EDS will allw clients t submit applicatins and amendments during extended hurs. It will als prvide validatin f selected data fields at the client wrkstatin thereby assisting the client t minimize the pprtunity fr errrs n the submissin. Applicatins that are accepted by EDS fr uplading t GLIMPS (Gegraphic Land Infrmatin Management Planning System) will be assigned an activity number by EDS and ed back t the client alng with a cpy f the applicatin. The pprtunity that will be prvided by this autmated system will ensure that clients are prvided with efficient and cnsistent service. 1.1 Hurs f Operatins EDS Supprt help desk is available Mnday t Friday 8:15 am t 4:30 pm except statutry hlidays. The system is available frm 6:30 am t 10:00 pm everyday. 1.2 Site Entry Use Restrictins One site entry fr each dispsitin nly. 8 2.1 Help The three Help functins, lcated at the tp f the page, are Cntact Us, EDS Website and Help. Selecting Cntact Us will generate an t EDS.supprt@gv.ab.ca where yu can indicate any questins r cmments. 9 Clicking Help will take yu t the nline EDS manual. The Online Help will shw a number f tpics are displayed. T print any tpic right click yur muse and select print. 3. Site Entry Submissins Page T better manage industrial peratins ccurring in the field, ntificatin f site entry is required. The Site Entry mdule can be fund under the EDS Main Menu ptin # 2, Dispsitin Maintenance. Yu must btain an EDS accunt and be granted the prper permissin in rder t access this mdule. Shuld yu require an accunt, g t srd.alberta.ca and search fr the EDS, LAT & PCS User ID Request Frm and send the cmpleted cpy t eds.supprt@gv.ab.ca 3.1 Site Entry Data Input Page Entry f an apprved site is t ccur within the fur year time perid f the shrt term dispsitin. Ntificatin must be entered int EDS by the dispsitin hlder within 48 hurs f entry n t the land. The date f the site entry can nt be befre the date the shrt term dispsitin was issued and it can nt be a future date Gvernment f Alberta Page 9 f 14

10 T submit a Site Entry ntificatin: 1. Select ptin # 2, Dispsitin Maintenance, frm the EDS Main Menu. 2. Select ptin # 2, Site Entry Submissins, frm the Dispsitin Maintenance menu. The screen is displayed belw. 3. Enter the dispsitin number being applied fr. 4. In the LAT # bx, specify the LAT number assciated t the dispsitin as generated frm the LAT tl. 5. Enter the date f entry in the Site Entry Date bx using YYYY/MM/DD frmat 6. Click dwn n the Land Use Area Office and select the land use ffice the dispsitin falls within. 7. Input the name f a persn in the cmpany that can be cntacted by the Land Use Office in the Cmpany Field Cntact Name bx. 8. 12 3.2 Site Entry Data Cnfirmatin Page Upn cmpletely supplying all the required infrmatin n the Site Entry screen, pressing the Next buttn will display the Site Entry cnfirmatin page. This is an pprtunity t cnfirm the infrmatin yu prvided. Select the Back buttn t crrect any infrmatin. Pressing Cancel will cancel the submissin and rute the applicant back t the EDS Main Menu. Pressing the Submit buttn will check yur entry and generate an EN number if it passes all validatins. 13 3.3 Site Entry Issue Number Page The EDS applicatin will execute a number f real-time validatins when the Submit buttn n the Site Entry screen is pressed. If the submissin is successful, the EDS will: Generate an EN number Send an message t the applicant Send an message t the Land Use Office Create an lg f wh/when the submissin ccur Create an lg f what Land Use Office was the sent t Click n the Print buttn t acquire a printable cpy f the Site Entry ntificatin details. Press the Finish buttn t be ruted back t the EDS Main Menu. 14 3.4 Site Entry Sample Shrtly after the EN number is issued, the EDS applicatin will generate an ntificatin t the applicant. The ntice shuld cntain the same infrmatin prvided during submissin. Shuld yu fail t receive an after EDS after has generated yur EN number, the applicant must cntact the Business Operatins Unit at r via at eds.supprt@gv.ab.ca 4.
