3 1. Activating your account The Novia platform provides you with access to up-to-date portfolio valuations and transaction information in respect of your investments. This guide is designed to help you login on to the Novia platform, and learn how to use the services available. You either have, or will shortly receive, a login activation from Novia, which is used to access your portfolio online. If you do not receive an within the next week, please contact us and we will arrange for an to be sent. The will read: Dear John Smith, I am pleased to inform you that your use of the Novia online service has been successfully registered. Please find below your unique username and password which you will need to access the secure extranet. Username is " " Password is "Cy8he7v4" To begin using the Novia extranet you will first need to activate your online account. This can be done by clicking on the link below and entering your details on this page. You will be asked to enter the login details above and select a new password. For added security you will be asked to enter your date of birth and select a security question with an answer likely to be known only to you. " ntactivation.html?accountactivation= " This link should only be used to activate your account initially. Please do not use it to access your account once you have activated your password. To access your account once you have activated your password please go to Please do not reply to this address. Thank you for choosing the Novia service. Yours sincerely Scott Caine Head of Client Services Important: Once your account has been successfully activated, please do not use the original activation link again, as this could result in your account being temporarily locked. When you click on the link in the , your internet browser will open, and the Novia Account Activation screen, shown on the following page, should appear. Your user name will appear automatically in the first box (marked A), so check this matches the one received on your . If it is correct, please complete all fields on this page. The old Password will be the one provided in your activation , and you need to enter a new password of your choosing. 2

4 For security, please ensure that the new Password is case-sensitive (ie, a combination of capital and lower-case letters), at least 8 characters and includes a number. For example Buckley1 Complete the form, by retyping your new Password, and entered your date of birth and security question/answer. A Once you have completed all the details, click the Activate button (marked B). Your browser screen will then change to the following Log In screen. Then click the Login button (marked C), and you will be taken to the Novia Home Landing Page. 3

5 2. How to log in on subsequent occasions You can log into the Novia platform via our website Simply, click on the client login link in the top right hand corner of the screen. Once the screen below appears, click on the Novia log in here link, and you will be taken to the Novia Home Landing page. 4

6 3. What to do if you forget your Password Should you forget your Password, click on the forgotten password link shown below. When the link is clicked, a screen will appear asking for certain details about your account. After you have confirmed these details, confirmation of your Password will be sent to your address. 5

7 4. Finding your way around the Novia platform Home Landing Page The first screen you see after you log-in, is the Home Landing page. Client Summary On the Home Landing page is the Client Summary, which provides you with a current valuation of your portfolio, by wrapper ; ie, whether your underlying investments are held directly with a General Investment Account, or within a specific financial product, such as an offshore bond, Individual Savings Account or pension arrangement. Money In This column includes transactions where money has been added to the cash held on your behalf; such as deposits, transfers, distributions, interest and investment rebates. It excludes incomplete transfers and re-registrations, Money Out This column includes transactions where money has been deducted from the cash held on your behalf; such as withdrawals, our fees and Novia s platform charges. The information in both the Money In and Money Out columns can be checked using the Transaction History (see below). Main on-line functions These functions are grouped into the following dropdown options (marked by the red arrow above): 6

8 Home Wherever you are, click Home if you want to return to the home landing page. Documents This option provides PDF copies of all of your client documentation, as illustrated below. Investments List This function provides access to details of all investments that can be transacted on the Novia platform. User Profile This is where your security information is stored, and you can use this function to change your details whenever you desire. For example, you can change your password as often as you like. Wrapper Summary By clicking on a product wrapper, you are provided with a Wrapper Summary, which provides details and values of the underlying investments. You can obtain, and print, a valuation by clicking on the Download Report button (marked by the red arrow above). 7

9 Transaction History As mentioned earlier, you can view the transaction history of each individual wrapper. All details are available from inception, in yearly intervals, and can be exported to Microsoft Excel by clicking on the Export Data button (marked by the red arrow below).
