2 Video Requirements Hosted via YouTube, with either a public access or corporate YouTube account access. Company should provide a 180 character caption for the video. Must allow embedding Must be public or unlisted True streaming is not allowed Maximum Video Length: Up to 130 seconds for long-form Format: H.264 (MP4), FlashVideo (FLV), and WebM video file types must all be included (other formats may be included but will not be used) Aspect Ratio: 4:3, 16:9, 5:2 Resolution: 480x360, 640x360, 1920x800 Audio Format: MP3 or AAC preferred Frames per second: 30 Maximum file size: 100 MB Supported file formats: WebM files - Vp8 video codec and Vorbis Audio codecs.mpeg4, 3GPP and MOV files - Typically supporting h264, mpeg4 video codecs, and AAC audio codec.avi - Many cameras output this format typically the video codec is MJPEG and audio is PCM.MPEGPS - Typically supporting MPEG2 video codec and MP2 audio.wmv.flv - Adobe-FLV1 video codec, MP3 audio
3 Placement Specifics Leaderboard ads are run-of-site. Targeted ads are subject to availability. Contact your sales representative for more information. There is a 10% premium on expandable units. Must be user initiated. Top Rectangle can only expand left; Lower Rectangle is non- expandable; Leaderboard expands down and the Skyscraper ad is non-expandable. Creative Requirements Standard formats accepted: JPEG SWF (Adobe Flash) GIF PNG 40K HTML Lead Time: 5 Business Days Rich media formats: 3rd Party Ads HTML, DHTML Redirects JavaScript Rich media formats accepted: Eyeblaster Klipmart Pointroll Unicast Others, please inquire Rich media restrictions: (Animated Ads) Looping limit: 3 times Length: 15 seconds Rich Media - Lead Time: 5 Business Days User-initiated Expandable Ads: Maximum width of 600 pixels Landing Spots: Maximum of 2X the initial ad size position. User initiated only. Needs to have a close button Up to 15 seconds within ad Third-party ad serving We accept third-party ad serving, but impressions are counted and invoices are issued based on SpaceNews ad serving system, Google Ad Manager (GAM) % impression tracking discrepancy is expected. All formats will be considered and require extra processing time for testing and implementation. If possible, submit a test ad for any third-party ad shown or not shown on the list below. Advertisers are responsible for maintaining a working URL. Click-through rates are not guaranteed.
4 Guidelines Company name or advertiser s URL/recognizable logo must appear on all creative as advertiser branding. The URL must include to-level domain name (e.g.,.com,.net,.org etc.). Creative must adhere to any and all trademark and copyright laws. SpaceNews will not assume responsibility of illegal usage. All artwork must be accompanied by traffic instructions including linking URL and rotation instructions, if applicable. All leaderboard ads will be targeted to open a new browser window upon clicking. All advertiser submitted rich media, or third party tags should also be coded to open a new browser window upon clicking. Online creative is due at least five full business days prior to the ad start date and/or rotation date. Flash Delivery Specs The following components are required to run Flash creative: advertiser must submit a back-up GIF to be served to those visitors who do not have a Flash plug-in and in case there are problems with the Flash file. In the.fla file do not code the destination URL (e.g., Flash 8 ActionScript 2.0 on (release) { geturl (clicktag, _blank ); } Flash 9 ActionScript 3.0 on (release) { geturl (_level0.clicktag, _blank ); } The following must be included when sending Flash creative: Final.swf files Back-up.gif File destination URL when ad is clicked upon. This allows the click-through URL to be modified at any time during a campaign, as opposed to hard-coding the click command in the.swf file. Target= _blank is required in the Basic actions to make sure user click through opens a new window.
