1 MetService Online Advertising Technical Specifications Updated: 01 October 2013 FORMATS & DEADLINES Please note: If advertisements do not meet the specifications below, MetService may be unable to load the campaign, and the client will be asked to revise the creative at their own cost. Terms and Conditions can be found here. Deadlines The creative must be received no later than 3 working days (usually a Wednesday) before the commencement of the advertisement. Formats Accepted formats are:.jpg.gif.png.swf, please include a backup.gif or.jpg Third party redirects (HTML iframe, Object, Javascript). Note about 3 rd Party redirects: Please be advised that the MetService uses and recommends Google redirect tags. While we are happy to facilitate the usage of other 3 rd Party creatives, we are not responsible for any discrepancies in impression numbers. For further information, please contact Clarissa. Resolution All images must be 72dpi. CREATIVE SPECIFICATIONS Big Banner Dimensions: 760px x 120px, 728px x 90px. Max file size: 40kb (hosted) Location: Top of page Format: Third party redirects,.swf (with backup gif ).png.jpg or.gif (No transparency) Expandable: 760px x 120px expands down to 760px x 240px, 100Kb polite.

Max file size: 50kb (hosted) Location: Right hand column (all locations) Format: Third party redirects,.swf (with backup gif).png.jpg or.gif (No transparency) Medium Rectangle (Mrec) Dimensions: 300px x 250px. Max file size: 40kb (hosted) Location: Right hand column (all locations), Below page fold - towns, maps, rural. Format: Third party redirects,.swf (with backup gif).png.jpg or.gif (No transparency) Tiles Dimensions: 300px x 60px Location: Site-wide Format:.png.jpg or.gif (No transparency, static images only, no animation) Max file size: 15kb Currently do not support auto-scroll Billboard A'Billboard' is an extra large big banner. RICH MEDIA RICH MEDIA IS AVAILABLE, SUBJECT TO NEGOTIATION. Standard formats HTML Javascript Adobe Flash Creative files must be included with third party tags, and all click through urls must open in a new browser window or tab

3 FLASH CREATIVES To run flash (hosted.swf files), we require the following The flash creative (.swf) A backup.gif or.jpg The destination URL Specifications: Destination must use _blank (opens webpage in new tab or window) CPU usage to be kept to a minimum No transparent backgrounds please Any sound in a creative must be user activated via a obvious PLAY button (no rollovers please) AND contain a STOP/MUTE button. Speed: 18fps or below Looping: Unlimited, less than 15 seconds per loop. Please note: Many of our users have earlier versions of flash so to ensure that they get the best functionality of our website, we require flash versions to be exported as version 9 or 10. The above specifications include third party re-directs. Please also test that it works on all Internet Explorer Chrome & Firefox browsers. Flash Banner click tags Here are examples of Google recommended clicktag's : Preferred: on (release) { geturl (_level0.clicktag, "_blank"); } (more information) OR on (release) { if (clicktag.substr(0,5) == " { geturl(clicktag, "_blank"); }} (more information) Make sure the code is placed on the top layer. Must be exported in Flash ActionScript 2.0 is recommended. ActionScript 3 is supported by DFP but is currently untested. 3 rd Party Impression tracking urls This is not supported. Please use 3 rd party hosted creatives if you wish to do this.

4 HTML CREATIVES The following specifications are required to run HTML creative JavaScript is allowed. All common tag formats accepted Ensure that _blank is set as the destination within the HTML code Expanding creatives are accepted, please inform beforehand if you are going to use them. Expansion must be user initiated (either rollover or click). Any sound in a creative must be user activated via a obvious button (not a rollover) AND contain a mute button. Note: The website visitors use a wide range of different browsers, versions and platforms which can interfere with the appearance of HTML advertising. Please ensure that the material leaves room for expansion if a site user has a low screen resolution or has their text size set to medium or greater. ***Please test that it works on Internet Explorer 7+, Chrome or Safari and Firefox browsers.*** Accepted third party redirects Double Click (preferred) Eyewonder Facilitate Atlas Other formats may require more testing. Floating Layer An ad that plays within a limited area in a transparent layer, over a Web page. Cost: Additional 40% of banner rate. File size: 100k. Dimensions: 400px x 400px. Duration: 8 seconds maximum Frequency cap: 1 per unique user per day Sound: User initiated. Close button must be active and clearly displayed. The ad must not impact another advertisers ad and must be supplied with a corresponding standard display ad. Expandable Banners Advertisements that expand when a user moves their cursor over or clicks on the ad. Cost: Additional 30% loading File size: 40k Standard Banner, 100k Polite Banner Dimensions: Big Banner: 760 x 240 pixels (maximum area when expanded is 760 x 240 pixels). Rectangle: 300px x 250px expands to a maximum of 500 x 500 pixels or left to 600px x 250px. Sound: User initiated. Other: Close button must be active and clearly displayed and the image must close

5 automatically. Format: Third Party Redirects. Polite Big Banner or Rectangle The Polite Banner is a Flash enabled banner ad that uses polite, sequential downloading and proprietary compression technology to allow for extra large file sizes that load after the page content has loaded. Cost: Additional 10% loading File size: 40k Initial. Sound: User initiated Video Cost: Additional 20% loading File size: 40k Initial. Up to 1mb. Sound: User initiated Video must have a maximum duration of 30 seconds Video content must not loop and can be re-initiated by a replay button The video or video player should have obvious "play/stop" and "mute" buttons Auto-play video on page load is allowed. File types.gif image of the ad (.gif file) Publish Flash File (.swf file) Adobe Flash File (.fla file)* Click tag embedded within.swf file (refer to the following instructions) Required click-through URL for the ad A Flash ad shouldn't consistently use more than 20% of CPU on a standard computer. * It may be necessary to have the.fla file in order to ensure the click tag is inserted correctly. Additional Notes Rich Media creative must be submitted at least 5 working days in advance. Campaign/flight dates must be set up in Third party supplier to start at least one day prior and end one day later than the actual campaign is due to be run. The ads will not be served in these extra days, which are required only to ensure that potential timing issues with supplier do not affect the flight. Where there are multiple campaigns for the same advertiser, multiple creatives may be required. Please note that many types of Rich Media are only available via Third Party Suppliers such as DoubleClick, Eye Wonder or Facilitate and that additional costs incurred for Third Party serving are to be absorbed by the client or advertiser.

6 FULL PAGE TAKEOVERS Dimensions Background non-clickable: Background image 1290px width, max height: 1500px or 2 Side Gutters 140px width and transparent or white center. Top clickable banner: maximum width of 990 x 120px, or a width of 961px which matches the site width. 300px x 250px Mrec Formats Max total of all files: 200kb Format: supports.png or jpg for background. Third party redirects,.swf (with backup gif ).png.jpg or.gif for top banner. All images must be 72dpi. (see template next page) ***Full page takeovers must be received at least 5 working days before go live date.

7 FORECAST IMAGE TAKEOVER The Forecast image on towns and cities pages representing current conditions which can be replaced by a custom image. Above is an example of what we would accept. Specifications: Size: 502px x 120px Format: Any static image or photoshop file accepted. Submission time: 7 working days minimum before commencement of campaign. Details: No click-throughs available. Minimal Branding, Logo OK. No Packaging shots 100% contextual/relevant (e.g. BBQ on sunny day) 99% Content, 1% Advert No guaranteed page Impressions. Min buy 30k (includes 10k banners) Max buy 2 months (55k, includes 25k of banners) MetService will only commit to a maximum of these campaigns 4 per year. All Creatives need to be signed off by Interactive Manager Concepts to be discussed early with Interactive Manager Advert only on 1 weather condition (e.g. fine or rain not both) This list is not exhaustive, so please discuss early with Interactive Manager

8 MOBILE WEBSITE ADVERTISING Banner sizes 300px x 50px Banner file formats Static or animated.gif.jpg.png Rich Media Rich media is available, subject to negotiation: HTML Javascript Creative files must be included with third party tags, and all click though urls must open in a new window or tab. Please note that Flash is not supported in many mobile phones. File Sizes Mobile banners should not exceed 15kb per banner. IPAD APP ADVERTISING The ipad App advertisement space is located where the traffic webcams are at the bottom of page, which flips around to show the ad. Banner Size Dimensions: 756px x 216px. Max file size: 40kb Banner file formats jpg/jpeg/png/gif (no transparency) Rich Media Rich media is currently not available for the ipad. ADVERTISING Available on the following s: Weekend Weather, Seasonal Outlook, Powder Alert & Powder Watch. Banner Size 300px x 250px 160px x 600px Banner file formats: Static jpg/jpeg/png/gif (no transparency)
