These include: Monarch Printer Control Language II (MPCL-II) emulation IER 520A and 520B emulation Enhanced wireless security for g Intelligent Mail barcode Additional RFID tag support for the Model R40 Key prerequisites InfoPrint 6700 Models R40, R60, and R80 Planned availability date December 19, 2008 Description New feature availability The new function described in this announcement will be included on printers shipped on December 19, 2008, and later. These features can be added to installed printers by upgrading to the latest level of microcode after December 19, Intelligent Mail barcode The Intelligent Mail barcode is available with IGP (PGL) and IPDS tm on the InfoPrint 6700 (machine type 5504) Models R40, R60, and R80. The Intelligent Mail barcode (formally known as the 4-State Customer barcode) is the next generation of USPS barcode technology used to sort and track letters and flats. Most important, Intelligent Mail barcode technology combines the capabilities of the POSTNET barcode and the Planet Code barcode into one unique barcode. 2 Monarch printer language emulation (MGL) This emulation is available on the InfoPrint 6700 (machine type 5504) Models R40, R60, and R80. This emulation is for the Monarch Printer Control Language II (MPCL-II), including 203 and 300 dpi support. IER printer emulation (IEGL) This emulation is available on the InfoPrint 6700 (machine type 5504) Models R40, R60, and R80. The emulation is for the IER 520A (203 dpi) and the IER 520B (300 dpi) printers only. Enhanced wireless g security The wireless security has been enhanced with the addition of: MS-CHAPv2: Second release of Microsoft's version of the Challenge-handshake authentication protocol PEAP: Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol LEAP: Lightweight Extensible Authentication Protocol RFID Tags (Model R40 only) The InfoPrint 6700 Model R40 (5504-R40) supports Class 0/0+, Class 1, and Class 1.19 RFID; Class Gen 2; and Class Zuma tags and labels. Gen2 has superseded Class 0 and Class 1 technology, and the list of available RFID tags is increasing; consequently, all the tags supported by this printer are not listed.
