1 Hardware Announcement June 5, 2000 Options by IBM: Options ThinkPad 1200/1300 i Series Overview ThinkPad 1200/1300 i Series NiMH Battery The ThinkPad 1200/1300 i Series NiMH Battery is a rechargeable, nickel metal hydride, system battery that supports the ThinkPad i Series. This battery contains eight cells providing an output of 9.6 V and can be recharged in 2.0 hours (power off), 5.0 hours (operational) depending on the ThinkPad system usage. Spare system batteries provide the convenience of extended untethered ThinkPad use. ThinkPad i Series Dual Chemistry The ThinkPad i Series Dual Chemistry enables convenient spare battery recharging without tethering the ThinkPad to the wall. Consider the charger for maximum unplugged flexibility. The charger supports 1200/1300 NiMH batteries and some Li-Ion i Series batteries. Convenience and flexible operation are enhanced with charged batteries that are ready to go when you are. IBM USB Portable Diskette Drive This super-slim, lightweight, sturdy, and attractive USB-attached diskette drive takes its power requirements from the USB port. external power adapter is required making this diskette drive fully mobile. The USB Portable Diskette Drive reads and writes 1.44 MB and 720 KB diskette media. Industry-standard USB connectivity offers convenient connectivity to the ThinkPad i Series 1200/1300, NetVista S Series, and laptops/desktops with a USB port. Key Prerequisites The USB Portable Diskette Drive is supported on any computer with an available USB port using either Windows 98 or Windows The ThinkPad i Series Dual Chemistry requires an AC adapter, included with the system and available as an option.
