1 ================================== HEADS Pro Release 14.1, User s Guide for Tutorial Data Tutorial 04 Highway Strengthening & Widening ================================== USER's Guide to run Project Data from real life design project for a road section of Four Lane Configuration having Two Fly Over Sections, Two Service Road Sections & One Concentric Widening Section. The Sections are defined as mentioned below: TABLE 1 : WIDENING SCHEDULE CHAINAGE WIDENING FROM TO LEFT_HAND_SIDE FLY_OVER_SECTION, with reduced Median, At Grade Service Roads CONCENTRIC/NEW, Changed Cross Section FLY_OVER_SECTION, with reduced Median, At Grade Service Roads RIGHT_HAND_SIDE TABLE 2 : CROSS SECTION TYPE SCHEDULE CHAINAGE FROM CHAINAGE TO Cross Section TYPES Type Type Type Type Type2 TABLE 3 : SERVICE ROADS AT TYPE2 SECTIONS FROM TO FROM TO

2 ======= NOTE:- ======= The data files "Project Data Part1.txt", "Project Data Part2.txt" and Total Station Survey file "SURVEY.TXT" are supplied in the folder: "Tutorial 04 Highway Strengthening & Widening>> Project Data", Copy the Three data files outside this folder. 2

3 =============== Process Part 1: =============== Run HEADS Pro by double clicking Icon from the desktop. Using HEADS Menu option "File >> Open as Project Data File", Select File "Project Data Part1.txt", Click on open. 3

4 The Project Work Space box comes with list of all the process options serially as mentioned in the Project Data File, click on button "Proceed" at the bottom of the screen, At start the box below will come, click on WRITE TO DGM (Digital Ground Model) FILE, 4

5 A set of Dialog Boxes will come one-by-one, every time click on button "Proceed", As the process is over a message will come click on button "OK" and click on button "Finish". When the Ground Modeling Process will come, the dialog box will come as shown below, click on OK, 5

6 As the Ground Modeling process is over the message will come as below, click on OK, When the Contour Modeling Process will come, the dialog box will come as shown below, click on RUN, As the Contour Modeling process is over the message will come as below, click on Save, 6

7 At the bottom of the system screen, click on the icon, as shown, then click on Quit, When the HALIGN (Horizontal Alignment Design) Process will come, the dialog box will come as shown below, click on OK, For processes OFFSET & MODELEDIT Click on Proceed, Ok and Finish, as they will come one by one. When the GLONGSEC (Ground Long Section) is processed for EL01, Click on Proceed, wait till the dialog box will come as shown below, click on OK, 7

8 When the GLONGSEC (Ground Long Section) is processed for ER01, Click on Proceed, wait till the dialog box will come as shown below, click on OK, When all the processes are over click on button "Finish" at the right bottom corner of the screen. 8

9 =============== Process Part 2: =============== Run HEADS Pro by double clicking Icon from the desktop. Using HEADS Menu option "File >> Open as Project Data File", Select File "Project Data Part2.txt", Click on open. 9

10 The Project Work Space box comes with list of all the process options serially as mentioned in the Project Data File, click on button "Proceed" at the bottom of the screen, a set of Dialog Boxes will come one-by-one, every time click on button "Proceed", as the process over a message will come click on button "OK", click on button "Finish". When all the 23 processes are over click on Button "Finish" at the right bottom corner of the screen. A message will be come for opening the Drawings, Click on the "Yes", 10

11 All the Drawings will be opened in HEADS CAD Viewer, with a list on the left side, select a drawing in the list, the drawing will be displayed, User has to save the drawing to make it compatible to AutoCAD (In Demo/Trial version the save & Print are restricted).
