2 I. Preface - IMPORTANT **NOTE: Connecting to FS-Wireless requires that the staff/student has, at least once, logged into a Desktop COMPUTER. If you know of staff/students that have yet to do so, please go through the following; otherwise, proceed to the appropriate sections to learn how to connect to FS-Wireless 1.) Please proceed to ONLY any desktop computer (classroom computers, computer lab, etc). If the computer is not on, please power on the computer. After the boot up process, you will be presented with a login screen. Press, Ctrl+Alt+Del on the keyboard. Fig. 1a - Windows7 Login Screen

4 3.) Next, you will be presented with fields to enter in your User Name and Password. Please enter in your User Name and Password at this time in the appropriate field and press Enter User Name - Staff: <First Name, Last Initial> (Ex. WarrenH) **Some logins will use the first and second letter of the last name** (Ex. Mark Sitjar = MarkSi) Student: s <Student Number> (Ex. s123456) Password - Staff/Student: Birthdate in <mmddyyyy> (Ex. March 3, 2005 = ) **NOTE**: If you get an Incorrect User Name and/or Password message even after verifying you entered in the correct information, please give Help Desk a call so they can further assist you. 5 4.) After entering in your User Name and Password successfully, you will be notified that you MUST change your password. Click OK. Fig. 4a - Windows7 Password Change Notification Fig. 4b - WindowsXP Password Change Notification

5.) The next screen will present you with the Password Change screen. You will be asked to type in a New Password and then type it again to Confirm the Password.

If you d like, you may type your birthdate (mmddyyyy) again if you wish to keep the same password, but this is not recommended for students that are 5th grade or older. 7 6.) You may or may not see a screen letting you know that your password is changing. Once, however, your password change is complete, a confirmation screen will appear notifying you that your password has been changed. Click OK. **NOTE**: This process may take a few minutes depending on how fast the computer is,

After successfully changing your password, the login process will continue and will eventually take you to the desktop of the computer. **NOTE**: This process may take a few minutes depending on how fast the computer is, the network, and other external factors. 9 8.) Once you arrive at the desktop of the computer, you can safely shut the computer down or log out. Proceed to the rest of the guide to learn how to connect to FS-Wireless using various devices. II. How To Setup FS-Wireless On idevices - ipads, iphones, and ipods (Staff & Students) **This includes: ipads, iphones, and ipods** 1.) From the Home screen, tap Settings.

10 2.) Tap WiFi on the left hand side, which will produce a list of all the available wireless nextworks on the right hand side. Tap FS-Wireless in the list of available networks.

11 3.) Next, a box will appear asking you for Username and Password. Please type in the user name and password you normally would use to log into the computer every day (Ex. WarrenH) and then click Join.

12 4.) The next screen will ask you to accept a Security Certificate. Tap Accept.

13 5.) You will then be successfully authenticated and connected to FS-Wireless as denoted in the graphic by a checkmark next to the wireless name. 6.) Please keep in mind, you only need to supply your User Name and Password for FS- Wireless ONCE. Wireless authentication is permanent and does not need to be logged in on a regular basis (i.e. FS-Student). Congratulations and welcome to the FS-Wireless network! Happy browsing!
