2 Service Console Programming and Auditing the Ecast system is accomplished via its Touchscreen. To access the Service Console, simply open the dome. Router Configuration Options Navigating the Service Console Fig. 1E From this screen, you have access to the Audit, Programming and Diagnostic features. An arrow next to a choice indicates that there is only one screen behind it. A plus next to a choice indicates that there are additional menus (screens) behind it. To access an area, touch the description of the feature or option you desire. The screen will then change to the selected item. As an aid to know where you re at in the screens, your current location will be displayed in yellow along the bottom. To resume Normal Operation, touch the Quit button. Additionally, you may touch the Help button for more information about the currently displayed screen.

3 Feature and Option Descriptions Although the feature and programming screens are very intuitive, following are descriptions of the features, options and settings along with instructions for their use. 3. Payment and Credit Management Options The following screen allows the setting of pricing, adding or deleting credits and setting the jukebox on Free Play. 1. System Auditing and Collection Screen Fig. 3E This screen displays the current period, last period and all period audits. To clear the current period, touch the Collect Now button. The figures will move from the Current Period column to the Last Period column and the All Periods Column will recalculate to reflect the new total figures. Fig. 5E To set, touch the desired option. The display will then change to the appropriate screen. 3a. Configure Payment Settings. This screen sets the basic pricing structure. Normally it is not necessary to change these settings. In fact, it is best to leave these at the defaults as unpredictable results may occur if they are changed. 2. Configuration Summary Screen This screen shows a summary of the current jukebox setup. The display includes Credit Configuration, Music Configuration and Location Configuration. Fig. 4E This screen is informational and no provision is available to change or program this screen. To change a setting, access the appropriate screen. E - 3 Fig. 6E Currency Type: Touch the arrow to display and choose the Country currency type. Default is $ English (United States) Display Format: Touch the down arrow to display and choose the currency display format. Currency Unit Value: Touch the down arrow to display and choose the base monetary base unit value. In the United States this should be set for 5 cents. Hardmeter Increment: Set the mechanical cash meter pulse rate. Default is every 1 unit (5 )

4 3b. Configure Cash and Coin Values. This screen is where the coin and bill input values are set. Fig. 7E Each Coin and Bill Input value is set as a multiple of the Currency Value Unit as set in the Payment Settings screen. In the United States Coin Signal 1 is set for 25 (5 currency units) and Bill Signal 1 is set for $1.00 (20 currency units) The remaining inputs are not used and should be set for Not in Use. To change a setting, touch the Down Arrow in the desired channel then use the up or down arrows in the drop down box to display and choose the values. Once the desired value is displayed, touch the Channel box to lock it in. Fig. 9E To add credits, touch either Add One Free Credit or Add Five Free Credits. The number of credits chosen will be added each time the button is touched. To clear all credits, touch Clear All Credits. This screen also shows the current number of available credits as well as how many were added. 3e. Set Credit Recovery Mode. This screen is where you set whether or not the jukebox will hold the current credits when it is turned off or if a power interruption occurs. A green button with a checkmark indicates the current setting. 3c. Set Credit Pricing. This screen is where the credits for money are set. A green button with a check mark inside a table indicates the currently active table. Fig. 8E Touch the button inside the desired pricing table to set. 3d. Add-Delete Credits. This screen allows you to add or clear credits from the jukebox. Credits added from this screen will be shown as Free Credits on the Collection Screen. Fig. 10E To set, touch the desired mode. If Only Recover Credits within a limited time period is chosen, you must also set the amount of power off time the credits are to be held. To set the time period, touch the down arrow in the time window then choose the desired amount of time by using the up or down arrows until the desired time period is displayed. Touch the time window again to lock in your choice. E - 4

5 3f. Set Free Play Mode. This screen allows the jukebox to be put onto Free Play. CAUTION: The operator will be charged 10 cents for each song played while the jukebox is on Free Play. A green button with a checkmark indicates the current setting. Fig. 13E To change a setting, use the up or down arrow to find the desired type/genre then touch Allowed or Blocked. Fig. 11E To change, touch the desired mode. 4b. Set Autoplay Mode. This screen allows you to set the jukebox to Autoplay. This mode may be used as a play stimulator during slow times. A green button with a checkmark indicates the current setting. 4. Music Management Options This set of screens allows the setting of Music Filters, Autoplay, Play Order, Play Queue Recovery and clearing of the play queue. Fig. 12E To set, touch the desired option. The display will then change to the appropriate screen. 4a. Configure Music Filters. This screen allows you to choose a particular type or genre of music to be allowed to play. You may also allow or block music with explicit lyrics. A green button with a checkmark indicates currently allowed types/genre. A red button with an X in it indicates blocked types/genre. Fig. 14E To change the setting, touch the desired option. If Auto Play On is chosen, you must also set the Auto Play will play Background Music every time. To set the time, touch the down arrow in the time window then use the up or down arrows to display the desired amount of time. Touch the time window again to lock in the setting. 4c. Set Song Play Order. This screen is where the Play Order is set. Choose from FIFO First selected, First Played or Shuffle Random Play Order. A green button with a checkmark indicates the current setting. E - 5

6 Fig. 15E To change, touch the desired option. 4d. Set Queue Recovery Mode. This screen is where you set whether or not the jukebox will hold the current play queue (songs in memory) when it is turned off or if a power interruption occurs. A green button with a checkmark indicates the current setting. Fig. 17E To cancel a song or play queue, touch the desired option. 4f. Configure Remote Music Access. This option is used if the jukebox is installed in a location with Ecast Powered devices that have remote music selection capability. Fig. 16E To set, touch the desired mode. If Only Recover the Music Queue within a limited time period is chosen, you must also set the amount of power off time the credits are to be held. To set the time period, touch the down arrow in the time window then choose the desired amount of time by using the up or down arrows until the desired time period is displayed. Touch the time window again to lock in your choice. 4e. Clear Music Queue. This screen allows you to either cancel the currently playing song or completely clear the play queue. (All songs in memory.) Fig. 18E Unrestricted Access. Use this option to allow any devices on the network to make selections on the jukebox. Restricted Access. Use this option to select which devices may have the ability to select music on the jukebox. The list will automatically be populated with devices on the network that have the ability to make remote selections. If there are none, the box will be empty. 5. Location Management Options This set of screens sets the time zone, language configuration options, monthly connection charge and software update options. E - 6

7 5a ii. Set Software Update Time. Use this screen to set the time at which software updates, if pending, will be installed. NOTE: It s a good idea to set this to a time at which the venue will not be playing the jukebox as it is necessary to stop the system to apply the update. Fig. 19E 5a. Software Update Options. This set of options sets how software updates are handled. Fig. 22E To set, touch the down arrow then, using the up or down arrows, choose the time. Once the desired time is chosen, touch the Software Update Time window to lock in the setting. Touching the Skip Update button will prevent the next reboot from occurring. The next reboot will be at the preset time of the following day. 5b. Configure Language Selection. This screen is where you may choose a display language. You may also choose to allow the user (patron) to toggle between languages. A green button with a checkmark indicates the current setting. Fig. 20E 5a i. Check Software Update Status. This screen shows the currently installed software modules. It also shows any updates that are ready to be installed. If no action is taken, the updates will be installed at the scheduled time. You may choose to install the updates immediately. Fig. 23E To change, touch the desired option. 5c. Set Monthly Connection Charge. You may set the dollar amount of your monthly connection charge. This amount will appear on the Collection Screen and on the Configuration Summary Screen. (The monthly connection Fig. 21E Rock-Ola Mfg. Corp. E-7

8 charge set here is informational only and does not affect the audit totals.) Fig. 24E To set, touch the down arrow then, using the up or down arrows, choose the desired dollar amount. Touch the Monthly Connection Charge window to lock in the figure. 5d. Set Current Time Zone. This screen is used to set the jukeboxes computer for the Time Zone it is in. It is important to ensure this is correct as some features depend on the correct time to function properly. Fig. 26E Reset. Used for pre-installation testing. The download and play feature works if connected. JukeNOW. Use this option if placed in a location without broadband service. The Download and Play option will display a Coming Soon message to the user and attract loops will advertise Coming Soon, over 200,000 songs. As soon as the broadband connection is detected, the system will change to a Now Available, over 200,000 songs attract loop and banners for 30 days. After 30 days, the normal Download and Play messages and attract loops play. Normal Operation. Use this option if installing with broadband service. Only the normal attract loops and messages are used. 5f. View System Build Configuration.. This screen displays the System Time, Time Zone, Hard Drive Info and Product Information. Fig. 25E To change, touch the down arrow then, using the up or down arrows, select your time zone. Touch the Time Zone window again to lock it in. 5e. Set JukeNOW Operating Mode. JukeNOW is a feature by where the machine may be placed on location prior to having a broadband connection. This set of options manages the JukeNow feature. Fig. 27E This screen in informational and cannot be changed. E - 8

9 6. System Settings and Diagnostics This set of screens allows you to set the amplifier features, set up remote volume controls, calibrate the touchscreen, view system build configuration, shut down the system and access the diagnostic tests. 6d. Invoke System Shutdown. Use this screen to turn off and shut down the system for the purpose of moving or major system component replacement. Fig. 30E To shut down the system, touch the Shutdown Now button. Once complete, it is safe to turn off the UPS and unplug the jukebox from AC power. Fig. 28E Touch the setting or feature you desire. The display will change to the appropriate screen. 6e. Diagnostics. This screen is used to access System Logs, View Hardware Status, Test Hardware Signals, View Network Configuration and Test Network Status. 6a. Configure Audio Amplifier. This set of screens allows you to configure the amplifier settings. (See Section D) 6b. Configure Remote Controls. This screen is used to configure remote volume control behavior. (See Section D) 6c. Calibrate Touchscreen. Use this screen to fine tune the calibration of the Touchscreen. To calibrate, follow the instructions on the screen. Fig. 31E To use, touch the desired feature. The display will change to the appropriate screen. 6e i. View System Logs. This screen displays system events sorted by day and time. This information may be used to help troubleshoot system failure issues. Fig. 29E E - 9

10 Fig. 32E To use, choose the day you wish to view by touching the down arrow in the Log File window then, using the up or down arrow, find the day. Select it by touching the Log File window again. To view the events, use the up or down arrow in the Event window. This is informational and cannot be programmed or changed. 6e ii. View Hardware Status. This screen displays information about the various hardware components. Information includes Core Unit Temperature, 5 Volt and 12V Supply Status, CPU and Cabinet Fan Speeds, Currency, Coin and Credit Card Acceptor Status, Cabinet Buttons and Lights Status and COIM Power Status. This information may be used to help diagnose cabinet service issues. For instance, a slow running cabinet fan indicates that it is probably dirty and should be cleaned. Fig. 34E To use, activate the desired switch or input. The counter for that signal should increment. 6e iv. View Network Configuration. This screen displays the current network configuration. Information includes the Windows IP Configuration and Ethernet Adapter Configuration. This information may be helpful when troubleshooting network connection issues. To view, use the up or down arrows to scroll the screen. Fig. 35E 6e v. Test Network Status. Use this screen to test the Network Gateway, Ping the Ecast Network and test the RPC Server. These tests are useful when troubleshooting Network Connection issues. Fig. 33E As this screen is purely informational, there are no programming provisions. 6e iii. Test Hardware Signals. Use this screen to test the cabinet switches and currency or coin inputs. E - 10

11 6f. i. Router Configuration Information. This screen is used to enter original router configuration information. Fig. 36E To test, touch the desired test button and the test status will show in the window. To view test messages, use the up or down arrows. Gateway and Ecast tests report in the upper window and the RPC test reports are viewed in the lower window. As data is purely informational, there is no provision to change or program it. Fig. 38E 6f. ii. Router Configuration Information - continued. This screen is used to enter original router address and protocol configuration information. 6f. Router Configuration Options. This screen is used to manually program the router in the event that it loses its original configuration. See Section C1 or C2 for detailed step-by-step instructions for manually re-programming the router. NOTE: To program the router manually, the original router configuration information must be available. Each location has a specific configuration. Fig. 39E 6f. iii. Router PPPoE. This screen has a touch keyboard and is used to enter the location s PPPoE User Name and password. Fig. 37E Fig. 40E E - 11

12 6f. v. Router Addressing. This screen is used to enter the location s Gateway/LAN, WAN, and DNS information and to submit all configuration data and begin programming the router. Fig. 41E 6f. vi. Router Programming Results. This screen indicates whether the manual programming of the router was successful. If so, a SUCCESS message comes on screen. If not, a notification to try again will be displayed. Either of these screens are informational and cannot be changed. E - 12
