1 CLOUD STORAGE INTEGRATIONS Orion provides integrations between both a Firm s cloud storage solution and a user s personal cloud storage account from the Client Portal and Reports app. Orion users can utilize this integration to securely and efficiently share documents and files between Advisor/Rep Level users and the end Client (investor). Additionally, you can send Orion Reports directly to your integrated cloud storage provider for easy sharing or storage. INTEGRATION PARTNERS ShareFile sharefile.com Box box.com Dropbox dropbox.com NetDocuments netdocuments.com Egnyte egnyte.com Orion has two different methods for Cloud Storage Integration - AdvisorShared and My User Connection AdvisorShared (Firm Level) The AdvisorShared feature allows a Firm to connect their company cloud storage solution to create an organized directory for Client Level documents. Users can then access documents via the Orion Client Portal. You will also be able to generate Client Reports and send them directly to an AdvisorShared folder for each specific Client. Firm adds documents (private or shared) via your cloud storage account or the Client Portal. Advisor Client Users can connect their personal cloud storage accounts so documents are accessible via the Orion Client Portal. Client Portal My User Connection (Personal) Client can access shared documents via the Client Portal. The My User Connection allows an individual user to connect their personal cloud storage account to their Orion user account. You can then send Orion Reports directly to your cloud storage account! Users have access to personal or shared documents via the Client Portal under the Cloud Storage tab. Choose to use this method in addition to or independent from the AdvisorShared connection. 2 How do I setup my AdvisorShared connection? 1 Go to Orion Connect and open the Client Portal app. 2 Select a Client and click Launch (you must have existing Client Level Users available). 3 Now select Admin> Settings> Documents> Advisor Cloud Storage 4 Under Cloud Providers, choose one to begin the linking process. 5 Follow the steps on the next screen to link your provider credentials to Orion. Administrative Level credentials should be used here in order to provide full access to your cloud storage provider. 6 This may take a few minutes, but once linked you will be redirected back to the Client Portal. The Cloud Providers dropdown will now display your account to unlink if your connection has been established. Click to unlink your cloud storage account at any time. Before Linking After Linking Your AdvisorShared connection is ready to use! Go to Documents> Cloud Storage and you will see that the Cloud Storage menu shows AdvisorShared is available. You can use the interface to Add Folders and Upload Files to this AdvisorShared Folder (these will be restricted to the specific client). You can also do this through the Cloud Storage solution s user interface as well. This way you would be able to organize or have specific folders created in advance for the Client to use. For example:

3 How does AdvisorShared look on the other side? Orion makes the magic happen by creating a folder in your cloud storage provider s Root Directory titled OrionFolder. This is a specific folder to be shared with the Orion platform for the AdvisorShared connection. You will want to keep it! See below for an example: Ex. ShareFile Root Directory Inside the OrionFolder, Orion will create a folder for each Client. A new Client folder is created when a user (either an Advisor or a Client) access the AdvisorShared screen within the Client Portal. The folder is named with the Client s Household ID and then name i.e. 555 Smith, John. This ensures Orion links the folder to the correct client. If this folder is renamed, Orion will not find an existing folder for the Client so a new folder will be created. Private vs. Shared Inside each Client folder, two additional folders are created - Private and Shared. Anything added to the Private folder is hidden from the client, but can be used by the firm for internal purposes. Anything added to the Shared folder is immediately available to the client via the Client Portal.

4 Additional Features Client Portal app Reports that are run from the Client Portal can be delivered directly to the client s shared folder. Go to Documents> Reports> Select a Report> Delivery Method> Choose My Advisor Shared. After you generate the report a PDF will be delivered to your client s shared folder. Reports or Report Builder app Report(s) being generated from these apps require you to select a specific Client s shared folder. This gives you the flexibility of determining where you want the report to go, but use care when selecting the appropriate folder.

5 How do I setup My User (personal) connection? 1 Go to Orion Connect and open the Client Portal app. 2 Select a Client and click Launch (you must have existing Client Level Users available). 3 Now select Admin> Settings> Documents> Advisor Cloud Storage 4 Under Cloud Providers, choose one to begin the linking process. 5 Follow the steps on the next screen to link your provider credentials to Orion. Quick Note If you already have the AdvisorShared feature connected, this page will default to that folder. To get back to the connection interface shown in the above, click the Home link You can toggle between the AdvisorShared folder and your My User cloud storage account from that interface using the Connected Providers list. You can disconnect your account from here as well.

6 Quick Note Even though you are logged into the Client Portal app as a specific Client, your cloud storage account is connected to your personal user account and NOT that client. That client will not have access to your personal cloud storage account, nor will you have access to a client s personal cloud storage account if they connect their own personal account. Besides having the ability to see and interact with your personal account, you can also run reports directly to your personal cloud storage account! If you have chosen both connection methods, you will now see both options appear under Delivery Method when generating a report either from the Client Portal app or the Reports app in Orion Connect. Client Portal app Reports app FAQ Q: Do clients need their own login to the Cloud Storage solution? A: No, this is one of the benefits of our integration. The end client does not need a login, or even need to know a Cloud Storage option is used. The client has full access to their AdvisorShared folder through the Client Portal. However, if a client does have a user account to a Cloud Storage provider or wants to access the folder through the provider s user interface, you can share that client s specific folder through the tools of the provider. This would all be handled outside of the Orion platform. Q: How does a Representative Level user access these client folders? A: Representative Level users can access the AdvisorShared folder the same way as the Client through the Client Portal when logged in as that specific Client. They can still upload and download files as if they were the Client. If you want to provide additional access or access outside of the Orion system, through the Cloud Storage provider you can create additional users and permission rights/access to specific folders. This would all be handled outside of the Orion platform. Q: I already have Client folders in my solution can you connect to these folders instead? A: Orion is not able to connect the integration to custom folders. It must connect to the folder that the integration creates i.e. OrionFolder. You cannot rename those folders either, otherwise the integration does not know where to look and what to connect to. This is a security feature to ensure the correct folder connects to the correct client. Rev
