3 I. System Requirement At this stage, the InSite system just provides content approval (replacing ozalids or plotter proofs) for client. If you wish to use InSite only for contentt approval,, then you don t require any special software as long as you can connect to the t internet. It is recommendedd that you have thee following hardwaree and operating system in order to run InSite successfully. 1) For Mac Display resolution: : 1024 x 768 or higher. If thee display resolution is lower than 1024 x 768, you may be unable to see all of the available tools and features. Memory: 1 GB of RAM Operating system: : OS or higher Java: 1.5 or later Internett Browser: : Safari 3..x, 4.x Bandwidth: At least 64KB/ss 2) For PC Display resolution: : 1024 x 768 or higher. Crop Mark must be set back from the bleeding by b at leastt 1mm. Trim Box: The trim box should be fitted within the t crop mark as below image: The trim box will be shown as a red frame by Acrobat. If your file is exported by InDesign, Illustrator or QuarkXpress the t trim box can be the exact trim size. 4

6 IV. Upload Procedure 1) Type in the web site addresss ( and click System Diagnostics too check whether your system configuration is suitable. Most importantly, please check the Connection Speed which will affect the turnaround time of uploading and downloading.. Ideally, the connection speedd should be 64KBytes/sec. 2) Type in your user name and password then click Login. 6

7 3) Click the Jobs button. 4) Click the job name to access the individual job folder. 7

8 5) There are three buttons on top of information plan. p They Files, Smart Review and Preview. are Upload 6) Click Upload Files. You will see a dialog box for upload files. Then type in Upload Name. 8

9 7) Click the Add Files button (Green circle) to add the filess or drag the files into the upload list from your computer andd then click Upload. 9

10 V. Check the pagination in Preview Modee 1) Come back to Summary and click the Preview to check the pagination in 3D mode. 2) Select the More to choose viewing in single page or spread page. 10

11 3) Move the button (Red frame) ) to zoom in/out thee pages and type in the page number to jump into that page immediately. 4) You can select the right/leftt side tab for right/ /left page.. There are some options which you can select Approve page or Reject page to make the page approval in Preview directly. Or, select Launch Smart Review going to Smart Review for check the details per page or make the page approval. 11

12 VI. Page Approval Procedure 1) When the files are uploaded and have been processed by the InSite server you will see the approval request in the Pages tab. 2) Click the Smart Review button in Summary tab for page checking and approval. 12

13 3) In the Smart Review, pleasee only select both Trim Lines and Bleed in View of menu bar. As forr other in View, they can be unselected. Then check the content with the tool bar on thee left. 4) Below are the function of the annotation tools: Tool Pan Zoom in Zoom out Text Annotation Function Move the page around a the Zoom in the vieww area Zoom out the view area Make remark onn the page view area Pen Annotation Line Annotation Rectangle Annotation Oval Annotation Ruler Square Ruler Horizontal Guide Annotationn Vertical Guide Annotation Draw a shape too illustrate your remark Draw a line for remark Draw a rectangle for remark Draw an oval forr remark Check the size Check the area size Check the horizontal of the page Check the vertical of the page Densitometer Check the dot percentage p of the page 13

14 5) If you are checking supplied correction, click the Compare Mode to see the pages side by side to make a comparison.. The difference will be highlighted and shown on thee right hand side. NB * the name of the re-uploaded file MUST bee same as previous file name. 6) If the page is OK you can click the Approve Page buttonn then click OK. 14

15 7) If the page needs to be revised, you can click the Rejectt Page button and give some information in the comment box, then t click OK. 8) If the page is approved, it will be shown by. If the page is rejected, it will be shown by. Also, the user name is shown so you can seee approved or rejected the page. 15

16 VII. Versioning Page Approval Procedure Most of the procedures are same as Chapter VI. You just focus on the Smart Review. There is an optionn for view and approve the different edition. 1) Go into Smart Review and click the option at top of pagee list. 2) There will be a list for choose edition. 16

17 3) Make page approvall as Chapter VI after choose edition. 4) You can check the approval status for different edition. Return to Pages and click Version. 17
