1 Assurances By the end of the second grade, the Student will: 1. Demonstrate classroom rules for proper computer care and usage. 2. Model respect for others' electronic work. 3. Identify parts of a computer system. 4. Demonstrate proper keyboarding techniques and finger placement. 5. Format a basic word document (change font characteristics) and add a graphic image. 6. Save and retrieve files. 7. Reinforce classroom learning objectives using appropriate educational software (JumpStart, Claris Works for Kids, Math Blaster, etc.). 8. Perform a keyword search to acquire information (e.g., work search in an encyclopedia program). 9. Use PowerPoint or Publisher to create and share a class project (e.g., weather data, birthdays, animals, etc.).
