Managing product master data plays an important role in any company's measure of business performance. Establishing a single view of product master data and associated domains such as suppliers, vendors, customers, and locations enables companies to address key strategic business initiatives throughout an organization. Typical use cases include workflow collaboration scenarios built around various business initiatives such as multi-channel commerce, supplier on-boarding, enterprise product catalog, new product introduction, and Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) compliance. 3 Rich data model for numerous aspects of product information Companies must manage various dimensions of product information, including item, location, and organization data, and all the linkages among those, including prices and trade terms. With InfoSphere MDM Server for PIM, you can manage item and location information with diverse classification, merchandising, geographic, and operational hierarchies. The rich data model allows you to: Manage items and various relationships among items (packaging, substitution, cross-sell, up-sell, bundles, or prepacks) Manage locations, location hierarchies, and various attributes related to locations Deliver superior category hierarchy support Support specific attributes and attribute values Category Location Organization Relationship Organizational modeling with role and attribute-level security administration Product information is often owned and modified by users from multiple departments within a company. Manufactured Goods means a good or service, or a component of a good or a service, that is of interest to the Licensee and that is enumerated in the program's Entity Count Tool under the Manufactured Goods classification. 11 Assets and Commodities means any asset, tangible or intangible, owned by the Licensee, or for which the Licensee has a material financial interest, and that is enumerated in the program's Entity Count Tool under the Assets and Commodities classification. Examples include, but are not limited to hardware, such as tools, manufacturing equipment, and computer hardware; software licenses owned by the Licensee, vehicles and rolling stock; real estate and intellectual property, such as digital media and content. Locations means a location (identified via a physical address or geospatial attribute); a geography; a territory or region; a collection of geographies, territories, or regions that is of interest to the Licensee and that is enumerated in the program's Entity Count Tool under the Locations classification. Examples include physical addresses for retail outlets, distribution locations, drop-ship points, independent distributors, and agent offices. Trading ner and ies means an individual or organization with which the Licensee has a contractual relationship for the purpose of obtaining goods and services from that individual or organization, or for distribution of goods and services to that individual or organization for the purpose of resale. Examples include distributors, suppliers, franchisees, and employees. Workgroup Edition - RVU and license restrictions The program provides licensing under two available product packages: the Workgroup Edition and the Standard Edition. The Workgroup Edition is a limitedlicense version of the program that is intended for smaller or departmental organizations seeking to deploy InfoSphere MDM Server for PIM. Contact your IBM account representative for information regarding the Workgroup Edition. Customers current on subscription and support licensing for WebSphere Product Center and InfoSphere MDM Server for PIM will have their licenses migrated to InfoSphere MDM Server for PIM Standard Edition - Manufactured Goods. Contact your IBM representative or IBM Business ner if the Manufactured Goods category does not apply to your business. Customers on WebSphere Product Center processor-based subscription and support will not be entitled to use InfoSphere MDM Server for PIM until they have converted to RVU licensing.
