2 Before start, [Support Package] Video Server must use v above version. Download IP Utility from ACTi website: Always download the latest version from ACTi website(latest version till 2009/Apr is ). There are 2 kinds of configuration for ACTi multi-channel video server, system configuration and channel configuration. For system configuration it will be shown as MacAddress-0.ini after you backup to your local computer. For channel configuration, it will be shown as MacAddress-channel number.ini. Chapter1. How to backup the configuration Step1: Discover device from IP Utility Use IP Utility to discover the multi-channel video server connected in your network. In this support package, we take ACD-2400 ( 16 channel video server) as example. Expand the video server, the 16 channels will be shown on IP Utility window as above. Make sure all channels are shown here. Step2: Backup system configuration Page 2
3 Below image illustrate the step for backup system configuration. 1. Click the icon here to shrink the menu down if it s expanded. 2. Check the checkbox. 3. Input the Account and Password. 4. Click Backup Configuration button. 5. Input the path that the exported configuration files will be located. For Example, C:\ACD2400_090409\ 6. Click Apply. 7. Popup window will inform user backup finished as below. Step3: Backup channel configuration Page 3
4 1. Click the icon here to expand the video server menu, all channels will be shown. Make sure all the channels are available here. If not, click Refresh. 2. Check the check box. When backup channel configurations, it s allowed to backup all channels at the same time. 3. Input account and password. 4. Click backup configuration button. 5. Input the path that the exported configuration files will be located. For Example, C:\ACD2400_090409\ 6. Click Apply. 7. Popup window will inform user backup finished as below. 8. Visit the specified folder for the configuration files to check the exported configurations. Page 4
5 Chapter2. How to restore the configuration Step1: Discover device from IP Utility Use IP Utility to discover the multi-channel video server connected in your network. In this support package, we take ACD-2400 ( 16 channel video server) as example. Expand the video server, the 16 channels will be shown on IP Utility window as above. Make sure all channels are shown here. Step2: Restore System Configuration Below image illustrate the step for restore system configuration. Page 5
6 1. Click the icon to shrink the menu down if it s expanded. 2. Check the checkbox. 3. Input the account and password here. 4. Click the Restore Configuration button. 5. Input the absolute path for the exported configuration file, for system configuration file, the format is MacAddress-0.ini. 6. Click Apply 7. The IE will popup a window to inform user that the restore finished as below. Page 6
7 Step3: Restore Channel Configuration As restore the channel configuration, it s only allowed to restore one channel each time.(restore channel by channel). Below image illustrate the steps to restore the channel configuration. 1. Click the icon here to expand the video server menu. 2. Check the checkbox for the channel need to be restored, refer to the Chn ID column to find the correspond channel ID. 3. Input account and password. 4. Click Restore Configuration button here. 5. Input the absolute path for the exported configuration file, for system configuration file, the format is MacAddress-channel number.ini. 6. Click Apply 7. The IE will popup a window to inform user that the restore finished as below. Page 7
