4 1 Introduction 1.1 Validity This document applies to the installation of the software. 6 2 General Notes 2.1 Appropriate Use The new HD-ready software provides you with a functional control tool for one ore more Dallmeier devices. provides many useful features and functions for video image display in the user area as well as for the administration. 8 3 System Requirements In there is the possibility of parallel decoding multiple HD streams over the GPU of a graphics card. 9 Performance 1 A very good decoding rate can already be achieved with one of the specified graphics cards. When the cards are not used for Panomera multifocal sensor systems, they can also be used to decode and display a large number of conventional HD network cameras. A further increase in decoding performance can be achieved by the use of two graphics cards. In this case uses one graphics card for display and the second completely for decoding. This specialization then allows for the decoding and display of up to three Panomera S4 or two Panomera S 7/8. 10 4 Installation The installer setup of installs all required components on the system. Note before start that administrator rights are required for the installation. Proceed as follows to install on a suitable system (see chapter System Requirements on page 8): ¾¾Close all running applications. ¾¾Make sure that the license dongle is not connected. ¾¾Open the directory of the SMAVIA-ViewingClient.exe file. ¾¾Right-click the SMAVIA-ViewingClient.exe file. ¾¾Select Run as administrator. ¾¾Confirm the following user account control Windows dialog with Yes. The welcome dialog is displayed. Fig. 4-1 ¾¾Click Next. 10

11 The EULA (End User License Agreement) dialog is displayed. Fig. 4-2 ¾¾Enable the I confirm to observe the valid data protection regulations for the use of this application checkbox. With this checkbox you agree to respect the applicable data protection regulations. ¾¾Click Accept. The Destination dialog is displayed. Fig. 4-3 ¾¾Select via the Browse button a storage directory for the installation of SMAVIA Viewing Client if required. ¾¾Click Next. 11

The Start dialog is displayed. 14 5 First Start 5.1 Logon ¾¾Start. The factory-set User is Administrator. The factory-set Password is admin. The Login dialog is displayed. Fig. 5-1 ¾¾Enter the User and the Password. ¾¾Confirm with OK. The license check is performed (see below). 5.2 License Check The basic license is included in the SMAVIA Recording Server. The basic license allows access from a with full functionality. A can only access one SMAVIA Recording Server with one basic license. If acquiring a floating license, the basic license to a floating license is converted. Option 3: Unlock dongle by input of its serial number This option is needed for Dallmeier devices of the 3rd and 4 Generation. ¾¾Connect the compatibility dongle. ¾¾Enter the license code. ¾¾Confirm with OK.
