2 1 Abstract This document contains information on news and changes that are introduced with the current version of the software. Additionally, it provides an overview on the tested and supported functional range of the various software versions. 2 Validity This document applies to the software SMAVIA Recording Server, pre-installed on the appliance IPS Compatibility The software SMAVIA Recording Server is compatible with the following hardware and software after the update to the current version: SMAVIA Viewing Client as of version SMAVIA Viewer as of version PService as of version NOTICE Software Download The current software versions can be downloaded from the appliance in the System > Download dialog. 4 Notes Note that this update is free of charge. this update is suitable for appliances with a version as of this update is suitable for appliances with a valid maintenance license. the innovations are only generally described in this document. the use of some functions may require a license subject to charges. the Dallmeier support hotline is always available for further questions. 5 Procedure The update is available on the corresponding product page at It can be executed via network with the PService software or directly at the appliance by using a USB flash drive. 3 NOTICE Duration The transmission of the update (PService) takes only some minutes. The execution of the update on the appliance may take up to 30 minutes. 6 Innovations Panomera Combinations SMAVIA Recording Server has been enhanced to capture information about combined Panomera multifocal sensor systems. The appliance now bundles all the information on several Panomera multifocal sensor systems, which are combined in a single array. This information is provided to the client software SMAVIA Viewing Client. They allow the combined display of the overview modules of the individual Panomera multifocal sensor systems. Requirements Network Cameras with VCA Technology SMAVIA Recording Server now supports Dallmeier network cameras of the series 5000 that are equipped with VCA technology (Video Content Analysis). The SMAVIA appliance continuously receives the results of the VCA analysis functions as event messages with the corresponding metadata in addition to the recorded video stream. The SMAVIA appliance uses the received motion events to control the recording of the video stream in the Motion Detection mode. Furthermore, the received event messages are stored with the corresponding metadata in a database and kept for evaluation with SMAVIA Viewing Client. The SMAVIA appliance recognizes a camera that is equipped with the new VCA technology during the camera test. After deactivating the option Image processing on recorder, all necessary settings for storing and providing analysis events and metadata are automatically made. All other settings, such as the configuration of the Motion Detection recording mode, can be performed as usual. 4 LAN Data Interface SMAVIA Recording Server has been extended for the reception of data from third party systems (AWEK POS and NPC II protocol converters) via the network interface. This new feature also includes linking, saving and viewing data with the video recordings.
