4 1 Introduction 1.1 Validity This document applies to the installation of the SeMSy III Interface Server software and the related SeMSy III Interface Clients. 5 2 General Notes 2.1 Appropriate Use The SeMSy III Interface Server software forms an interface between external devices and a SeMSy III video management system. The interface software receives data from external devices (e.g. cash register, access control, dealing shoe) over the Ethernet and saves them to the integrated SQL database. The received data can be processed and forwarded to various devices in the SeMSy III video management system (recording systems, SeMSy III PGuard 7 Server, SeMSy III Workstation) in order to trigger an action. 2.2 Performance Features Database for a local configuration and external data integrated Connection of up to 500 external devices over Ethernet and up to 2000 logical data sources Processing and forwarding of messages in real-time Receiving of configuration data from the SeMSy III Setup Server 2.3 Warranty The terms and conditions valid at the signing of the contract shall apply. 5

7 4 Installation 4.1 Interface Server The installation of a SeMSy III Interface Server is done in two steps. First, the database management system (DBMS) is established. Then the SeMSy III Interface Server software will be installed for each required interface Database Management System The SQL database management system MariaDB will be installed. The setup file generates all required components on the system. A SeMSy III Interface Server is configured after installation via the SeMSyConfig application (see section Interface Server Software on page 9). Note before the start that administrator rights are required for installation. that a SeMSy III Setup Server must be available in the network. Proceed as follows: ¾¾Close all runing applications. ¾¾Start the xxxxxxxx_databaseinstallationsetup.msi application. If the DBMS installer is launched, it runs automatically and the introductory dialog is displayed. Fig. 4-1 ¾¾Click Next >. 7

8 The dialog for selecting the configuration parameters is displayed. Fig. 4-2 ¾¾Enable the Dbms check box for the installation of the MariaDB SQL database. ¾¾Enable the Tools check box if required. The installation of the MySQL tools is recommended. However, other SQL database tools can be used. ¾¾Confirm the selection with Finish. The installation of the database management system is complete. 8

9 4.1.2 Interface Server Software In the next step, the software for the SeMSy III Interface Server and the required interface is installed. The setup file generates all required components on the system. ¾¾Start the application of the Interface installation manager with the xxxxxxxx_iim.msi file. The setup runs automatically and the introductory dialog is displayed. Fig. 4-3 ¾¾Click Next >. The dialog for entering and selecting the configuration parameters is displayed. 10 ¾¾Enable the Alter Table in local Database checkbox and select the required option: Recreate if no database exists. Update if an existing database is to be used. ¾¾Enable the Subscribe this Interface on a SeMSy Setup Server checkbox in order to integrate this interface client on the SeMSy III Setup Server and for configuration in the SeMSyConfig application automatically. ¾¾Confirm the settings with Next >. The dialog is dispalyed for the connection settings to the SeMSy III Setup Server. Fig. 4-5 ¾¾Enter the Setup Server IP / Host Name of the SeMSy III Setup Server. ¾¾Check the Interface Server IP field the IP address of the SeMSy III Interface Server. ¾¾Enter semsy as the database schema in the Semsy Schema Name box. ¾¾Enable the Encrypt Password checkbox if credentials should be encrypted. The SeMSy III Interface Clients software from version is required for password encryption. ¾¾Check the connection with Test Connection. ¾¾Click Finish after a successful connection test. The installation of the SeMSy III Interface Server is complete. The configuration of a SeMSy III Interface Server is done with the SeMSyConfig application (see chapter SeMSyConfig on page 13). If the database and server installation was once fully executed, further interface server can be added subsequently to the same system with the installation manager. For this, run the installation manager with the application icon and install the required interface servers as described in this document. Interface Installation Manager 10

11 4.2 Installation Interface Clients On a SeMSy III workstation is set up the software SeMSy III interface clients. For the interfaces that are installed on the SeMSy III Interface Server will be modules with user interfaces intergrated that provide convenient access for settings and evaluations to the server database. Note before the start that administrator rights are required for installation. that a SeMSy III Setup Server must be available in the network. ¾¾Close all runing applications. ¾¾Start the xxxxxxxx_interfaceclientssetup.msi application. The Configuration Names dialog is displayed for the selection of the interface clients to install (all interfaces that have already been subscribed on the SeMSy III Setup Server are enabled by default and displayed with their IP addresses). 12 ¾¾Enable / disable additional interface clients if required. ¾¾Confirm with Finish. The installation of the interface clients is complete. These can now be opened and edited on the SeMSy III workstation. 12

13 5 SeMSyConfig The server configuration is done with the SeMSyConfig application after the installation of the SeMSy III Interface Server. ¾¾Start the SeMSyConfig application. The login dialog is displayed. Fig. 5-1 ¾¾Click More>>. The dialog is expanded. Fig. 5-2 ¾¾Enter the required login data: User Name: semsy (default setting) Password: semsy12345 (default setting) Database Host Name: IP address of the SeMSy III Interface Server Database Name: semsy (default setting) ¾¾Confirm with LogIn. 13

14 The user interface of the SeMSyConfig application is displayed. Fig. 5-3 ¾¾Expand the High Level Interfaces directory. ¾¾Select the required interface. 16 6 Update A SeMSy III Interface Server installation can be updated. In this case, the previous version of the Interface installation manager must first be uninstalled. ¾¾Uninstall the InterfaceInstallationManager V x.x.x application in the corresponding Windows dialogs. ¾¾Start the new version of the Interface installation manager application with the new xxxxxxxx_iim.msi file. The setup runs automatically and the introductory dialog is displayed. Fig. 6-1 ¾¾Click Next >. The dialog for entering and selecting the configuration parameters is displayed. 17 ¾¾Enable the Alter Table in local Database checkbox and select the Update option in order to update all existing database tables without data loss. ¾¾Perform the following installation steps as described above. 17
