3 Release Notes A-VIEW 4.0 Page 2 of 7 Overview This release note describes the software upgrade requirements (teacher and student nodes) for A-VIEW version 4.0. Enhancements to existing features and known issues are also explained in the respective sections. System Requirements Software Requirements: A-VIEW is supported on Windows, Mac OS 10 and Android (2.2 and above) platforms. Hardware Requirements: Please refer the hardware requirements document from New features/enhancements in A-VIEW 4.0 Following are the new features in A-VIEW 4.0 Features Details User Interface UI of the application has been improved changes have been made in application icons, buttons, toolbars, etc. Positional changes in Admin, face registration, quick note, help, feedback module icons and network connection status. Display order of the modules have been changed, new order is document sharing, whiteboard, video sharing, desktop sharing, 3D, 2D, video wall, quiz & poll. Show/Hide menu option has been added to display and hide the module menu which is located below the application title bar. UI changes in document sharing & whiteboard containers, toolbars, thumbnails, etc. Bandwidth checking window appears within the main A-VIEW window. Pop-out introduced for chat and 3d modules. Feedback form UI has been improved. Confirmation dialogue box will be displayed when application is closed.

4 Release Notes A-VIEW 4.0 Page 3 of 7 Audio-video Audio-video settings page has been simplified, camera type gets detected automatically. Advanced video settings now has only 2 parameters, Keyframe & FPS. Video mode has been introduced in Audio-video settings page. Presenter can choose Less Delay mode if the session is very interactive; otherwise he can go for Higher video quality which gives better video quality with minimal delay. Presenter has the option to see the Audio-video status of all users who are logged in. Presenter can use this to select users for interaction. Moderator can perform view video & user filtering even after giving presenter control to a user. When Presenter switches from video wall to a different module, video wall gets closed and presenter video gets displayed above the user list for all viewers. Video layout buttons are added in video wall. User needn t go to preference settings window to change the video wall layout. Option to enable or disable Multiple user interaction is provided below the user list. Audio-video settings button has been added in My video panel. If a user has started his video then he can change the audio-video settings from here and then restart the video. In the previous version user had to first stop the video for changing the settings and restarting. Audio mute and video mute options are provided in My video panel. If a viewer makes a hand-raise, then the Presenter can start interaction with him by clicking the handraise icon in the user list and selecting the start interaction option. Institute level user filtering has been introduced in the user list. Every incoming video panel has a refresh button to refresh individual videos. User gets a notification alert when he is selected for interaction or made the Presenter or when push to talk is used (on audio mute/talk).

5 Release Notes A-VIEW 4.0 Page 4 of 7 Question interface Questions raised by users will be notified to the Presenter in the userlist with a notepad icon. If presenter clicks on it he can view the question(s) and will have the option to answer, delete or ignore the question(s). The presenter can also start interaction with the user directly from here. Document sharing Support for uploading animated PPT files can be enabled/disabled by the administrator. Presenter will be able to upload animated PPT s only if it is enabled by the administrator. Document upload window disappears once a document is given for upload. Once the document is uploaded and converted the document gets downloaded to the document container. Presenter is allowed to download previously converted documents when another document is getting uploaded and converted. If the presenter does so then the document being uploaded doesn t get downloaded to the document container after conversion, instead an alert is thrown saying that document got converted and can be downloaded. Active document upload now has visual indication. If document upload is in progress and user tries to exit/logout/close A- VIEW, a popup comes to block the exit until the upload is complete. This is to prevent failure of document upload. Meeting Option has been provided for users to share their meeting groups with other users. Whiteboard Drawings made using free hand tool gets smoothened automatically. New features like Create new page from any page (earlier this could be done only from the last page), Undo, Redo, Select and move object, Export as image have been implemented. Desktop sharing Shared desktop appears within the A-VIEW main window (in 3.7 it appeared as a separate window) Improved desktop sharing quality. Presenter can change Desktop Sharing Quality'

6 Release Notes A-VIEW 4.0 Page 5 of 7 Refresh option to refresh the application list has been implemented for application sharing. Pretesting Pretesting UI has been modified and improved. Microphone, Camera and Speaker tests have been simplified. Polling Once presenter starts a poll, the polling window stays at viewer side only for 2 minutes. Viewer has to submit the answer within the time limit. Monitoring This is a new user role. Any user who is assigned with this role can monitor the videos of all the participants of the class and can also perform private chat with them. People Count Enabling this feature for a class will display the count of attendees at each center, in the userlist. Attendance Report Administrator/Moderator/Teacher can get the attendance report of all the sessions conducted(to which they are registered or have privilege). The report will have details of all the users registered for a session as well as the users who actually attended the session. It will also have details of the count of attendees at each center when the session was conducted. Known Issues # Scenario Error Messages/Screen Display 1. While trying to run A-VIEW. Some of the components are missing, please reinstall A-VIEW full package. Solution Manually install the full version of A-VIEW.

While logging into the classroom (On Win 7/Win 8 machine while using Low bandwidth single bitrate or Low bandwidth/low latency/ High definition multibitrate ) Application hangs while entering into a class & the user will not be able to start his video. Close A-VIEW. Start screen camera application with administrator privilege and then log into A-VIEW. 3. When moderator plays a youtube link. The youtube video will not play at viewer side. 4. While performing desktop sharing. Desktop sharing appears blank at viewer side. 5. While playing 2d files or while sharing videos. 6. While uploading animated Powerpoint files. 7. Moderator/viewer logs in from Win8 machine and publishes video. 8. Moderator logs in from Win8 machine & publishes multiple streams ( multibitrate class ). 9. While playing 2D files along with chat, recording or video sharing. 10. While using 'Higher video Quality' video mode for publishing video. 11. While performing pretesting on win 7 machine 12. While sharing video with many clients attending the session. 13. While performing multiple seek operations very quickly on recorded sessions. 14. While sending meeting invitation to guest users Users experiences echo issue at their end. Animated file upload takes a lot of time depending on the number of slides. Moderator/selected viewer video gets stuck after around 30 minutes but audio will be heard. Medium & high quality streams of moderator will be blank. Application gets stuck. Lip sync issue for presenter video Application gets closed 1) When moderator pauses the video it keeps playing for few viewers. 2) Video gets stuck/blank for few viewers when moderator performs multiple seek or play/pause operation. (Both issues happen rarely) Application gets closed. Guest users do not get the invitation mail on time. Issue can happen 1. if the youtube video doesn t have copyrights or 2. if the viewer side firewall restricts the access to YouTube or 3. if the flash player on the machine is not valid. Click on refresh button on the shared desktop window. To eliminate echo, either deselect the selected viewer or use push to talk to mute the selected viewer. Animated files should be uploaded before the actual class and not during the class. Moderator / selected viewer should be logged in from Win 7 machine. Moderator should be logged in from Win 7 machine.
