1 New 3D_Evolution 4.0 version 1. 3D_Evolution 4.0 presents a totally new graphic interface: - Easy to use, - Faster access to tools and commands, - Streamlined interface design, - Larger graphical window, - Display and selection improvement, - Customizable interface tools. 2. New Enterprise Data Manager product replaces old Batch Manager. 3. New analysis tools (also available in 3D_Analyzer): - Check drafts, - Check undercuts, - Ghost link detection, - Comparison of attributes, - Validation of tessellation parameters, - Validation of JT files, - Sharp edges detection (integrated to the Check thicknesses tool). 4. New sketcher capabilities (Quick sketch). 5. Creation of geometry (Direct modeling). 6. New documentation presenting 3D_Evolution New installer. 8. Improvement of the PMI reading and writing in all formats and with plug-ins. New Enterprise Data Manager (EDM) 1. New Digital Mock Up (DMU) application: - Manage big data easily, - Custom reports (collision detection, compare), - Assemblies versioning. 2. New Enterprise Batch Manager: - New scripts UI syntax (XML style), - Easier way to get script arguments (getparameter( id_of_argument )), - New Web Interface. Interfaces 1. Important information for users of 3D_Evolution 2014 and previous versions There are several points you must be informed of before using the new 3D_Evolution 4.0. Settings You can import your settings from your previous 3D_Evolution installation. To do this, open the Edit menu, click Import Settings then select the configuration files (.cfg) of your previous installation (usually in a folder like: C:\Coretechnologie\evolution\work). The settings of 3D_Evolution 4.0 are no more stored in configuration files. Now they are stored in Windows registry. For more information, have a look to How to import settings? in the documentation. Incompatibilities Here is a list of incompatibilities between the old versions and the new 3D_Evolution The configurations of conversion to JTOpen have changed. New configurations are replacing the old ones: - JT Tessellation-Only: only the tessellation is saved, no BRep. - JT Jt-Brep: the BRep is saved in Jt format. - JT Xt-Brep: the BRep is saved in Xt format. - JT Daimler: replaces previous configuration JT-plmxml-Daimler-Xt. 2. Old Evolution scripts are compatible with 3D_Evolution 4.0, however they are not displayed in the new Enterprise Data Manager. In other words, command line launched scripts are still working but you cannot be launched from the new Web Interface. 3. Old migrations scripts are obsolete. 4. The generation of a new licence is necessary to use the EDM. Please contact your local support before migrating from the Enterprise Batch Manager to the new Enterprise Data Manager.
