3 How do I apply for my part-time course? Find what you re interested in Look through this course guide and find the course or courses you want to do Applying to study at Hull College is simple. Just follow these steps... Not sure? I ve made my choice Contact the Information Team for some advice on (01482) or info@hull-college.ac.uk Great, if the course you ve chosen states that you need an interview then you need to complete an application form. You can do this online at Otherwise you can enrol straightaway on the course of your choice. Take the next step invest in your future Aged 19 or over and thinking about further education? You may qualify for the Advanced Learner Loan. These loans can help you to pay fees up front for courses from Level 3 up to Level 6. Depending on the course, you may be invited to; An interview with your future tutor A meet-and-greet to find out who else will be on your course Take a literacy or numeracy test If any of the above is relevant to the course of your choice we ll be in touch to arrange a suitable date and time. What are they? The Advanced Learner Loan is available to help you with the costs of studying a qualification from Level 3 up to Level 6 at Hull College Group or with an approved training provider. Am I eligible? To qualify for the Advanced Learner Loan, you ll need to be: Aged 19 or over at the start of your course A resident in the UK for 3 years or more Enrolling to undertake Access to HE Diplomas or vocational, technical and professional qualifications at level 3, 4, 5 and 6 Note: This does not affect your legal entitlement to full funding for your course if you are aged 19 to 23 and do not already hold a full Level 3 qualification or above. Those who already hold a Level 3 qualification and all those aged 24 and over will need to either self-fund or apply for a loan. How much can I get? It depends on you and your course. The Advanced Learner Loan can be taken for the full amount of your tuition fees or you can pay part of it yourself. What about paying it back? Unlike a bank loan, your monthly repayments will be based on your income. Payments will then only start once you are earning over 21,000 per year. Repayments start at as little as 7 per month (based on an income of 22,000 per year before tax). Where do I apply? Studying part-time has meant I have worked alongside all age groups with different careers and aspirations also helping me prepare for my future. You will gain experience whilst studying which in my opinion makes you stand out above the crowd! Also doing it this way means I can apply any theory I learn in the classroom to the workplace increasing my understanding. I also won t end up in debt! I now have a new job which I wouldn t have been prepared for had I not attended this course.
