3 System Overview Interactive Exam Room (PIXR) is an all-in-one touch screen installed in exam rooms. The system connects to the Internet using an Ethernet connection. Each of these PIXR signs will need to have a cable run to network jack, or above ceiling to network data closet; as specified by POC. You have been furnished a site survey that outlines the installation configuration for the site. You must review the site survey prior to your appointment. It is CRITICAL that you understand the equipment installation location(s) prior to beginning the installation process. Contact your vendor support desk if you have any questions. If the primary office contact wishes to deviate from the site survey instructions you MUST receive approval from PatientPoint BEFORE PROCEEDING. For any questions or problems, contact your Vendor Helpdesk. 3

5 Installation Guide 1. Site Notification Check in with the Primary Contact listed at the top of the Site Survey. Call Vendor Help Desk to check in. If the Primary Contact refuses any part of the installation, or wishes to change monitor location or deviate in any way from the site survey, you must call your Vendor Help Desk to receive approval from PatientPoint. 2. Data Port Test STOP AND READ The data port test is designed to verify internet access to the PIXR servers. It MUST be performed before the technician begins installation. The port test is an internet page; once the page is opened please allow time for the page to fully load before beginning the test. If the test returns errors, please repeat test at least 3 times to ensure the page loaded fully before calling the Vendor Help Desk. Technician should determine (by site survey or POC) the location of data ports PIXR signs will connect to. Open internet browser and type in: Wait for page to fully load and click on Begin Port Test. (Fig. 1) If the results are successful proceed to the next step. (Fig. 1) 5
6 (Fig. 2) If the test is unsuccessful FOR PIXR SERVERS ONLY, errors will be shown (Fig.2). Retry test at least three times. If test fails after three attempts, stop and call your Vendor Help Desk. STEP 3 Unpack & Inventory Equipment Unpack all boxes and confirm all necessary equipment is there. Should confirm correct number of signs, power cords, mounting hardware, Cat 5 and Panduit per sign. There may also be DLinks switches if necessary. Confirm all equipment is present and nothing is damaged or missing. Please report discrepancies to help desk. STEP 4 Determine and Run Cable to Sign Locations All exposed wires must be covered with Panduit. Remember to attach Panduit with small screws not adhesive back. STEP 5- Preparation of Wall and Install Wall Plate Locate the monitor placement provided in site survey. Use the stud finder to locate studs. An edge-toedge stud finder is highly recommended. The wall plate for this system does NOT need to be installed in any studs, but if the wall plate mounting holes should happen to line up with a wooden stud then 2 of the 10mm lag style screws (supplied) should be used in the wood stud, otherwise the snap toggle style anchors can be used in any wall material with the exception of concrete. If the wall plate mounting holes lines up with a metal stud then use the ½ drill bit to install the snap toggle anchors. The site survey should indicate concrete walls and 6
7 anchors will be provided but the tech should be prepared in the event the wall is concrete but is covered by a different material. Place wall plate on wall as a template. The side with three holes is the top of the wall plate. The lower edge of the wall plate should be 63 from the floor. Level plate, and mark the center of the four corner mounting holes and drill with ½ inch drill bit (note wooden stud does not need to be predrilled, the 10mm lag bolt is self tapping). Install snap toggle anchors as shown in Fig. 5. (Fig. 5) Screw the Philip head machined bolts through the four corners of the wall plate to attach the plate to the wall. If the there s a wood stud substitute two snap toggles for the 10 mm lag bolts. If there s a metal stud, use all four snap toggles. 7
8 Step 6 Installing Touch Screen Connect power cord to the system. Excess cord between the power brick and the system should be condensed zip tied and secured with the brick in the opening on the back of the screen. THIS IS IMPERATIVE PLEASE READ!!! The screen can now be hung on the wall mount and secured with the locking pin (supplied). The locking pin will be inserted into the two holes that line up on either side of the mounting brackets. Push firmly to insert the locking pin. 8
9 Power cord should be routed down from center of screen to power outlet and should be concealed in Panduit. Remember to attach Panduit with small screws not adhesive back. STEP 7- Confirm Connectivity Plug in system and select power button to power on. System should boot up and content should begin playing. Once this has been completed FOR EVERY SIGN call your vendor helpdesk and ensure each sign has hit PPT server. STEP 8- Take Pictures and Record Serial Numbers Take an environmental picture of each PIXR screen. PICTURE MUST ALSO BE PROVIDED OF THE DATA CONNECTION LOCATION FOR EACH SIGN. Write down the location (IE exam room 4) with corresponding computer name and serial number. IT IS IMPERATIVE SERIAL NUMBERS, COMPUTER NAMES AND LOCATIONS ARE ACCURATE. If there is any confusion on where a specific sign should go please call your vendor help desk to confirm. STEP 9- Clean Up and Check Out Remove and discard all shipping boxes. Sweep or vacuum up any dust/debris created while drilling holes. ENSURE all site equipment is working correctly prior to POC sign off. Verify with POC and get sign off. Call Vendor Help Desk to check out and confirm completion of the installation. Fax signed checklist to vendor for payment. If system needs to be reimaged due to software issue, refer next page 9
10 Imaging IXR Signs Insert flash drive containing IXR image into USB port and power up computer Hit F12 repeatedly to open boot options Select proper boot device (Kingston Data Traveler) PatientPoint Digital Signage Appliance Image Recovery Page will open Select The Network Image to Use (5 options listed) Select Option #4 IXR- Image Version 2.0 Hit Enter Warning screen will appear Do you want to restore this image? Hit Y Last Chance.. Are you absolutely sure you wish to apply image c:\images\ixr_v2\ixr2.gho for IXR to this machine? Continue? Hit Y 10
11 Ghost will start and reimage process will begin 11
12 Computer will reboot to technician screen 12
13 Select Change Computer Settings to re-name the computer after reimaging. Name with correct computer name, according to your work order. Complete steps 1-6 in sequential order Step 2- please ensure time zone, date/ time, am/pm is accurate Step 3- should be omitted unless proxy server use has been specified Step 4- once again run port test to ensure internet connectivity Step 5- the Windows activation code is found on the back of each individual sign and keyed in Upon Netkey install, system should reboot 2x- and content should then begin to play Verify system has successfully hit the server Additional Admin Functions are not necessary unless directed from help desk.. TO ENTER TECH SCREEN - 1. Hit the windows key to bring up the explorer bar and launch Internet Explorer. 2. Hit [Ctrl] + [F4] to kill Chrome and launch IE that way. 13
