Fix It Project H Contests For Project H, you will need the following files: a0h_mwb_contests a0h_mwb_logo You will save your database as: Lastname_Firstname_H_MWB_Contests Midwest Botanicals offers three yearly sweepstakes to program viewers who subscribe to the show s newsletter online. In the following project, you will modify a form and a subform to enter the data for the sweepstakes participants. You will also modify a subreport based on the entries. Make the following modifications to the H Contest Entries Form: In the main form, drag the right edge of the textbox controls to the 5-inch mark on the horizontal ruler. Align the right edge of the subform with the 4.5-inch mark on the horizontal ruler. Be sure all field names and data are visible in the form and subform. Resize the form s width to 5 inches. Resize the subform so you can view all eight records and the new record row in Form 1. Add a 2 pt border around the subform in a theme color. Move the subform down to allow 1 inch of space between the form and subform. Edit the subform title control to read Contest Entries Posted by Firstname Lastname Increase the font size of the subform title to 14; change the color to match the subform border, and make it bold. Resize the control so the text displays on one line. Center the label across the main form area placed right above the subform. Center the subform below the subform s title control. If you are instructed to submit this result, create a paper or electronic printout of Record 1. Make the following modifications to the H Contestant Report: In the main report, increase the font for all controls to 11 point; size the controls to fit the data. Resize the Description textbox control until it reaches the 5-inch mark on the horizontal ruler. Bold the description. In the subreport, delete the Contest label control and text box control, and move the controls to the left edge of the subreport. Delete the subreport label control. Resize the subreport to 2.5 inches wide and 3.25 inches high. Select the textbox control, and click the Totals button on the DESIGN tab. Count the contestants; be sure to include a descriptive label. Change the font color to match the Report header shading. Edit the Page Footer to include your name before the date by typing Prepared by Firstname Lastname on & to the right of the =. 2 GO! Fix It Project H Contests (continued) Copy and paste the logo to the right of the title so the left edge aligns with the 5.5-inch mark on the horizontal ruler. Center the title between the logos. Draw a 2 pt line below the column headings (label controls) to the right edge of the Description text box control. Apply a Theme Color to coordinate with the form. Adjust the width of the report so it displays on a portrait page, moving controls as necessary. Make It Project I Advertising For Project I, you will need the following files: a0i_advertising a0i_mwb_logo A new blank Word document You will save your files as: Lastname_Firstname_I_Advertising Lastname_Firstname_I_Tab_Control_Form From the student files that accompany this textbook, open the a0i_advertising database file. Save the database in your Chapter folder as Lastname_Firstname_I_ Advertising Modify the design of the form so it includes a tab control and displays the appropriate title, fields, and caption on each tab. Modify the design of the report so it displays the I TV Shows information in a subreport, removing the repeated field from the subreport and adjusting the controls so all data fits across a landscape page. Edit the Report Header, and delete the subreport label control. Your form and report should display as shown in Figure.53. Create a paper or electronic printout as directed. Solve It Project J Host Travel For Project J, you will need the following files: a0j_host_travel a0j_mwb_logo You will save your database as: Lastname_Firstname_J_Host_Travel Andi Shell and Lynda Kay are co-hosts of the television show Midwest Botanicals. The show includes some broadcasts from beautiful historic gardens around the world. The travel itineraries for the hosts have to be planned a year or more in advance. In this project, you will open the a0j_host_travel database and save it as Lastname_Firstname_J_Host_Travel Create a split form based on the J Historical Gardens table. Set the form so it is printed, and place the datasheet on top. Move the splitter bar between records 6 and. Add your Lastname Firstname before the form title. Resize the text boxes and form so it prints across a portrait page. Save the form as Lastname Firstname J Historical Gardens Split Form Create a paper or electronic printout of Record 3. Make a copy of J MWB Employees Form named J MWB Employees Main Form Using the copy as the main form, create a subform from the J Itinerary table. Change the subform s default view property to single form. Save the subform using the default name. Remove the Host text box control and label control from the subform, and move the additional fields up. Resize the subform so no scroll bars display. Delete the subform label control. Adjust all label and text box controls to display all data. Resize the detail area to close the gap following the subform. Add your first and last names to the form title, and place J MWB Employees on a second line. Be sure the form will print across a portrait page. Save the form. Create a paper or electronic printout of the first record of the form. Using the J Itinerary Parameter Query, create a report. Display the records by J Itinerary, do not apply any grouping, and sort by Arrive. Display the report in Landscape orientation, and name the report Lastname Firstname J Itinerary Add the a0j_mwb_ Logo to the right of the title, and resize it. Add an appropriate subtitle identifying the report and host by using the parameter in a report header text box control. Remove First Name from the report detail. Apply color in backgrounds, outlines, and fonts to create a well-formatted report. Resize the controls so all data displays on one page. Create an itinerary for each host Andi and Lynda. Think Project M Seminars For Project M, you will need the following files: a0m_seminars a0m_mwb_logo A new blank Word document You will save your files as: Lastname_Firstname_M_Seminars Lastname_Firstname_M_Tab_Control_Form Ruthann Hansen, president of MWB Productions, has tasked three of her employees with the responsibility of researching and lecturing on various seminar topics. These seminars are held at the television studio from which the Midwest Botanicals show is broadcasted. In this project you will open the a0m_seminars database and save it as Lastname_ Firstname_M_Seminars Using the M Seminars and Presenters form, you will create a multi-page form using fields from the M Seminars and Presenters query. Display the seminar information on the first tab (date and topic) and presenter information on the second tab (full name and phone #). Add appropriate captions to the tabs. Resize the tab control as necessary. Adjust all label and text box controls to display all data. Add the a0m_mwb_logo and size the width to approximately 2 inches. Add a title that includes your first and last names. Save the form. Select the fifth record. Use the Office Clipboard and Microsoft Word to save a copy of both tabs of the form. Save this document as Lastname_Firstname_M_Tab_Control_Form If you are instructed to submit this result, create a paper or electronic printout of the document. Open the M MWB Presenters report in Design view. Drag the M Seminars table into the Detail area. Remove the Presenter controls, and resize the subreport to 4.25 inches wide. Delete the subreport label control. In the report title, replace Lastname Firstname with your name. In the subreport s Report Header, change the font color for the text boxes. Change the color of the subreport outline to match. Save the report. Resize the report to 6.5 inches wide. Project N Club Directory For Project N, you will need the following file: Lastname_Firstname_6N_Club_Directory (your file from Chapter 6) You will save your database as: Lastname_Firstname_N_Club_Directory Create a personal database containing information about a club and its activities if you do not already have one from Project 4N. Name the new database Lastname_ Firstname_N_Club_Directory If you do not have the database from Project 6N, create two related tables, one that lists the activities your organization has planned and the other to serve as the directory of the group. The Activities table should include information about the name (primary key field), date, cost, and location of the activity. The dates must all occur next year; consider attaching directions to the event to the table. The Directory table should include full name, address, phone number, , and an activity they are planning. If you have the database from Project 6N, save as an Database in your Chapter folder. Create a split form from the Directory table. Be sure the datasheet displays on top and the Split Form Printing property is set to Form Only. Edit the title so it reads Lastname Firstname Club Membership and Club Membership displays on a second line. Be sure all data is visible on the form; move the Split Form Splitter Bar as necessary. Apply a 2 pt outline to the label controls. Save the form as Lastname Firstname N Membership Split Form If you are instructed to submit this result, create a paper or electronic printout of the form for Record 3 only. Create a report that includes all of the fields in the Activity table. Add the Directory table as a subreport below the main report. The title of the report should be Membership Activity Report Edit the date footer to include Prepared by Firstname Lastname on before the date. Be sure all data is visible in the report, and apply formatting as desired. Save the report as Lastname Firstname N Membership Activity Report If you are instructed to submit this result, create a paper or electronic printout of the report.
