Fix It Project 2H New Jobs In this project, you will construct a solution by applying any combination of the skills you practiced from the Objectives in Projects 2A and 2B. 2Word For Project 2H, you will need the following file: w02h_new_jobs Lastname_Firstname_2H_New_Jobs From the student files that accompany this textbook, locate and open the file w02h_new_jobs, and then save the file in your Word Chapter 2 folder as Lastname_Firstname_2H_New_Jobs This document contains errors that you must find and correct. Read and examine the document, and then edit to correct the errors that you find and to improve the overall document format. Types of errors could include, but are not restricted to: Spelling errors Grammar errors Word choice errors Duplicate words Unattractive table column widths Title not merged across the top row of the table Inconsistent spacing before and after paragraphs in the table Things you should know to complete this project: Viewing the document in Print Preview will help identify some of the problems The Spelling and Grammar checker will be useful Adjust the column widths before merging the title Add the file name to the footer. For the document properties, type your course name and section number in the Subject box. Make It Project 2I Training For Project 2I, you will need the following file: New blank Word document Lastname_Firstname_2I_Training Start Word and display a blank document. Save the file in your Word Chapter 2 folder as Lastname_Firstname_2I_Training Use the skills you practiced in this chapter to create the table shown in the Figure below. The first row font is Cambria 16 pt, the remainder is Cambria 14 pt. The spacing after the first row is 36 pt, and the spacing at the bottom of the rows is 12 pt. Add the file name to the footer; in the properties, add your name and course information and the tags online training. Save your document; and then submit as directed. Solve It Project 2J Job Postings For Project 2J, you will need the following files: New blank Word document w02j_job_postings Lastname_Firstname_2J_Job_Postings 2Word Print the w02j_job_postings document, and then use the information to complete this project. Create a new company letterhead and save it as a template in your Word Chapter 2 folder. Then use the template to create a document named Lastname_ Firstname_2J_Job_Postings Add the file name to the footer. Add your course name and section number and the tag job postings to the document properties. The document will be a list of new jobs posted by the Career Center at Florida Port Community College. The job posting should include the letterhead, introductory text, and a table that includes the information about the new jobs that are currently available. The job list should be in table format. Use either two or three columns, and label the columns appropriately. Format the table, the table borders, and the text in an attractive, readable manner. Submit your file as directed. Performance Level Exemplary: You consistently applied the relevant skills Proficient: You sometimes, but not always, applied the relevant skills Developing: You rarely or never applied the relevant skills Performance Criteria Create and format a letterhead template Insert a table Format the table structure The text in the letterhead is appropriately formatted, the company name stands out, and the spacing between paragraphs is attractive. The inserted table has the appropriate number of columns and rows to display the information. Table column widths fit the information, extra space is added between the rows, and borders are attractively formatted. The letterhead is complete, but the line spacing or text formatting is not appropriate for a letterhead. The table is not structured to effectively display the information. The column widths do not reflect the amount of information in the column, and the spacing between the cells is insufficient. The spacing and formatting is not appropriate for a letterhead. No table is inserted in the document. Table displays only default column widths and spacing. Format the text in the table Important text is highlighted and formatted appropriately, making the text easy to read and interpret. 4 Outcomes-Based Assessments Rubric The following outcomes-based assessments are open-ended assessments. That is, there is no specific correct result; your result will depend on your approach to the information provided. Make Professional Quality your goal. Use the following scoring rubric to guide you in how to approach the problem and then to evaluate how well your approach solves the problem. The criteria Software Mastery, Content, Format and Layout, and Process represent the knowledge and skills you have gained that you can apply to solving the problem. The levels of performance Professional Quality, Approaching Professional Quality, or Needs Quality Improvements help you and your instructor evaluate your result. 1-software Mastery 2-content 3-Format & layout Your completed project is of Professional Quality if you: Choose and apply the most appropriate skills, tools, and features and identify efficient methods to solve the problem. Construct a solution that is clear and well organized, contains content that is accurate, appropriate to the audience and purpose, and is complete. Provide a solution that contains no errors in spelling, grammar, or style. Format and arrange all elements to communicate information and ideas, clarify function, illustrate relationships, and indicate relative importance. 4-Process use an organized approach that integrates planning, development, self-assessment, revision, and reflection. Your completed project is Approaching Professional Quality if you: Choose and apply some appropriate skills, tools, and features, but not in the most efficient manner. Construct a solution in which some components are unclear, poorly organized, inconsistent, or incomplete. misjudge the needs of the audience. Have some errors in spelling, grammar, or style, but the errors do not detract from comprehension. apply appropriate format and layout features to some elements, but not others. overuse features, causing minor distraction. demonstrate an organized approach in some areas, but not others; or, use an insufficient process of organization throughout. Your completed project Needs Quality improvements if you: Choose inappropriate skills, tools, or features, or are inefficient in solving the problem. Think Project 2M Schedule For Project 2M, you will need the following files: Weekly appointment sheet template from Microsoft s Online templates w02m_workshop_information Lastname_Firstname_2M_Schedule 2Word To keep track of workshops provided to students and graduates, the trainer fills out a weekly schedule. Each workshop lasts two hours. Print the w02m_workshop_information file and use the information to complete this project. Search Word s online templates by using the search term schedule and then select a template for example the Weekly appointment sheet template. Create a schedule for a week, and include the first part of each workshop series, along with the Creating a Resume workshop. Customize the template as necessary to include Room and Workshop titles for each day of the week. The computer skills workshops are held in the Lab; the others are held in Room 104. The trainer always schedules the hour before each workshop for preparation. Fill out the workshop schedule and use your choice of formatting to indicate that the workshops cover a two-hour period. Add appropriate information to the document properties. Save the document in your Word Chapter 2 folder as Lastname_Firstname_2M_Schedule and submit it as directed. end You have completed Project 2M Project 2M: Schedule Word 5

Project 2N Personal Resume For Project 2N, you will need the following files: New blank Word documents You will save your documents as: Lastname_Firstname_2N_Personal_Resume Lastname_Firstname_2N_Personal_Cover_Letter Locate and print the information for a job for which you would like to apply, and then create your own personal resume using a table and a cover letter. Include any information that is appropriate, including your objective for a specific job, your experience, skills, education, and honors or awards. Create your own letterhead and cover letter, using the cover letter you created in Project 2B as a guide. To complete the assignment, be sure to format the text appropriately, resize the table columns in the resume to best display the information, and check both documents for spelling and grammar errors. Save the resume as Lastname_Firstname_2N_Personal_Resume and the cover letter as Lastname_Firstname_2N_Personal_Cover_Letter in your Word Chapter 2 folder. Add the file name to the footer in each document. Add your name, your course name and section number, and the tags my resume and cover letter to the document properties. If your instructor assigns this project, he or she will provide you with information and instructions to work as part of a group.
