Thank you for understanding the significance of this manual, and for helping The Miami Foundation maintain its graphic integrity. When using The Miami Foundation logo, approval from the Communications Team must be obtained. This manual preserves logo/branding consistency when creating all types of applications. Please request original files to avoid re-creation.

3 1 Introduction to The Miami Foundation Logo The Miami Foundation has two different logos for use in ads, publications and internal and external communications materials. Always use the tagline version (A) if the space permits. If space is limited use version (B). (A) The Miami Foundation Logo - With Tagline (B) The Miami Foundation Logo - Without Tagline This guide details all the specifications you need to follow when using our logos. Please do not attempt to re-create either logo. Instead, request original files.

4 2 Clear Space To ensure the logo stands out beautifully, please review the guidelines on minimum size and clear space. Clear space is based on the height of the M in Miami and is measured from the top, left, and bottom edges of the border surrounding the Logotype. No text, image, or other graphic element should encroach on this space. 3 Minimum Reproduction Size The Miami Foundation Logo with tagline should never be printed or reproduced smaller than 1 inch in width. The logo without tagline should never be smaller than inch in width. Minimum Size for Logo with Tagline 1.0 or 72px in width Minimum Size for Logo without Tagline or 45px in width Our logo should NEVER be reproduced larger than 3 in width without the written consent from The Miami Foundation.

5 4 Logo Color Versions There are two versions of The Miami Foundation logo. (A) The black logo should only be used on white or light colored background. Using this logo over dark images or complex backgrounds is prohibited. (B) The reversed logo (All White) is primarily shown over black. The white logo can be used over dark images and dark colored backgrounds.. (A) (B) 5 Logo File Names The Miami Foundation Logo with tagline should never be printed or reproduced smaller than 1 inch in width. The logo without tagline should never be smaller than inch in width. 6 6 Logo Typeface The Miami Foundation logo is based on the Gotham typeface. The logotype has been modified to create a mark that is unique. As such do not attempt to re-create the logo using the typeface. 7 7 Logo Usage Do s & Don ts Consistent use of The Miami Foundation logo is paramount in gaining instant recognition across all media channels. By following the do s and avoiding the don ts, The Miami Foundation logo will remain clear and legible. Do allow proper clear space around the logo Do place the white logo on dark colors and images. Do not use white logo on light colored backgrounds Do not rotate Do not alter the logo or the tagline color Do not move logo elements Do not add a stoke Do not place black logo on dark colors Do not place black logo on gradation Do not place black logo dark background Do Not Place Logo On Textured Backgrounds Nothing should appear within the logo s clear space. This refers to 3rd party logos, body copy, or any other graphics.

8 8 The Miami Foundation s Brand Pillar Colors The three pillars of The Miami Foundation are represented visually in the three square lock-up. The height of the pillars is comparable to the x-height of the n in Foundation. The distance from the logo to the pillars is exactly half the distance of the full logos height.
