2 GETTING STARTED ACH Overview Welcome to Mission Bank! Our website is ACH origination services allow our customers to send or collect batches of electronic remittances through Online Cash Management. There are two types of transactions that can be originated: 1. PPD Prearranged Payments and Deposits which are used for consumer transactions, such as payroll deposits or club membership dues payments. 2. CCD Corporate Credits or Debits which are business-to-business payables or receivables transactions. There is also a module for Tax Payments, which can be used to initiate electronic payments to various governmental agencies. You must be registered with the EFTPS to use this option. The deadline for submitting ACH batches to Mission Bank for same-day processing is 3:30 p.m. Pacific time. If you attempt to submit a batch after the cut-off time you will receive an error message and the batch must be resubmitted the following business day. To guard against unauthorized transactions, Secure Tokens are required for customers with ACH origination access. ACH NACHA File User Guide (6/2018) 1

3 Secure Tokens Secure tokens are available as an app for your smartphone or tablet, or a physical token fob can be obtained from Mission Bank. Secure token for Apple and Android: from the app store download the VIP Access app Secure token for other mobile devices: from your mobile browser go to the URL m.vip.symantec.com Users will be prompted to register their token when logging in to online banking for the first time, and after registering the token code will be used at each subsequent login. If you download the app on a mobile device and that device gets replaced, you will need to download the app again on your new device and your company administrator will need to call the bank at (888) to have your ID reset. User tip: Only one token can be associated with a user ID, so if you log into online banking with various devices, such as a desktop unit at work and tablet at home, it is recommended that the token be installed on a smartphone so it is always available. 4 ACH FILE ORIGINATION Upload a NACHA File If you have a software program that can export a NACHA-formatted file, then you can upload that file directly into the ACH module in Online Cash Management. Please note: the company name in your software s ACH file settings must exactly match the company name we create in our system, otherwise there will be an error when you upload a file. Prepare your file and save it on your computer (saving with a.txt file extension is recommended). Click the Cash Manager tab, ACH > Batch List will open, then select Upload on the sub-menu. Browse to locate your file and then click Upload. After the file uploads, you will be automatically directed to the File Status page and your upload will show as Queued. Click Refresh List and the status will change from Queued to Uploaded when the file upload is complete. Once the Uploaded status appears you can go to the ACH > Batch List screen to initiate your batch. ACH NACHA File User Guide (6/2018) 3

5 Initiate an ACH Batch The deadline for submitting ACH batches to Mission Bank for same-day processing is 3:30 p.m. Pacific time. If you attempt to submit a batch after the cut-off time you will receive an error message and you will need to resubmit your batch the following business day. Debit batches (collecting receivables) need to be initiated one business day ahead of the effective date and credit batches (payables), particularly payroll, should be initiated two days in advance. At the ACH > Batch List screen you can check one or more batches and click Initiate Selected or you can open the drop-down menu belonging to an individual batch and select Initiate. Select the effective date from the drop down-menu (only valid processing dates will display), choose the account to offset for the transactions, and initiate your batch. You will receive a confirmation number for your records. User tip: Batches already created/uploaded will remain on the ACH Batch Listing screen in Ready status for use as templates. If you always upload a new batch, which is typical, it is recommended that you purge initiated batches on a regular basis to avoid confusion. You can use the Select All button or select the batches individually, then Delete Selected. ACH NACHA File User Guide (6/2018) 4

6 OPTIONS MODULE The Options tab in Online Cash Management allows users to manage their personal profile, their display options, and set alerts for themselves. If you are a company administrator, you can access our mobile banking app and ACH batches can be initiated through the app. Alerts Alerts are a very effective way of managing or monitoring certain activities in the accounts. They are set up by individual users, and the user has their choice of delivery methods for alerts: , at login, or text message. Your address and/or mobile phone number and mobile carrier for Alerts are managed in Personal Settings. We encourage you to explore and use alerts. ACH NACHA File User Guide (6/2018) 5
