The Java mdel hlds the infrmatin fr the creatin f Java classes, especially what cncerns the structure f these classes, namely the package reference, the attributes and the methds. Tls: The required transfrmatin may be implemented in any mdel transfrmatin language. The descriptin f the exercise in this dcument assumes that metamdels will be expressed in KM3 [2] and ATL [3] will be used fr writing the transfrmatin prgram. A pssible target metamdel f Java (see Figure 2 cnsists principally f JavaElements which all have a name. A JavaClass has Methds and Fields and belngs t a Package. Methds, Fields and JavaClasses are subclasses f Mdifiers and therefre indicate whether they are public, static r final. JavaClasses and Methds declare with the isabstract attribute whether they are abstract r nt. PrimitiveTypes and JavaClasses are Types. A Methd has a Type as return Type and parameters f certain Types. A Field has als a Type. Page 2

Express the surce and target metamdels in the KM3 language. 2. Write a transfrmatin prgram that transfrms UML mdels cnfrming t the surce metamdel t Java mdels cnfrming t the target metamdel. If yu have difficulties then yu can cnsult the slutin given further in this dcument. Remember that there is n single right slutin. It is always useful t cmpare yur slutin with ther slutins. 2 An Example Slutin Example ATL Cde: This ATL cde fr the transfrmatin f a UML t Java cnsists f several functins and rules.
