2 IPAD VEJLEDNING 2 FIRST SETUP Your ipad needs to be configured the first time you use it. 2. Select country the same way and click Næste/Next. 1. Select the desired language. You can expand the list of languages by clicking on the arrow at the bottom. Move on by clicking on the blue arror in the top right corner. 3. Decide if you want to turn lokalitetstjenester/local Services on or off. It allows the ipad to detect your location using GPS. You can read more about this by clicking on Hvad er lokalitetstjenester?. You can always swtich this service off later. 4. Connect to a wireless network. Click Tilslut/Connect. Select asbvip and enter your ASB username and password. Fortsættes næste side

3 3 IPAD TUTORIAL 5. You are probably asked to accept the certificate of the network. Click Enig/Accept. Your ipad is now activated. 9. Now accept Apple s terms and conditions for using the ipad. Press Accept/Enig. 10. Decide whether you want to send diagnostics and user data to Apple. Press Next. 6. You are now connected to ASB s network. Click Next. After a while, you will recieve a message that you ipad is now ready to use. Press Continue. 7. You are now asked to set up your ipad as new or from a backup copy. Select configure as new and click Next. You ipad is now configured. In the following sections, you will learn how to access the wireless network, configure and calendar and how to install applications on your ipad. 8. You are asked to log in with your Apple-ID, create one or skip that step. For now, select Spring over/skip Step.

4 IPAD VEJLEDNING 4 ACCESS THE WIRELESS NETWORK This is how to connect your ipad to the wireless network (asbvip): 1. From the desktop, press Indstillinger/Settings. 5. You are asked to accept the network s certificate. Press Enig/ Accept. 2. Select Wi-Fi in the menu. You are now connected to the wireless network. 3. Select the asbvip -network. 4. Enter username and password and press Tilslut/Connect.

5 5 IPAD TUTORIAL SETUP This is how to set up the ipad to access your ASB From the desktop, press Indstillinger/Settings. 5. You will now recieve a message: Kan ikke kontrollere serveridentiteten. Press Fortsæt. 2. Select E-post, kontakter, kalendere in the menu. 6. Select what to synchronize to your ipad and press Arkiver. 3. Press Microsoft Exchange. 4. Type in your address, domain (ASB), your ASB username and password - and optional description. 7. You can now access your via the icon on the desktop (NOTE: it may take a while before all your s are in your inbox.) NOTE! You can find even more settings for (i.e. changing signature) under Settings/Indstillinger under the manu point E-post, kontakter og kalendere.

6 IPAD VEJLEDNING 6 FEATURES This is how to use basic features on the ipad: Your inbox is found from the top left corner. Edit Text If you hold your finger down on a word, you get a loop with a marker. Move your finger left and right to easily edit text and spelling errors, etc. You can also find other folders by pressing Postkasser. In the top right corner, you can move and open to a different folder, delete the , reply, forward, print, etc. and compose new . Select, cut, copy, paste and other text features You can select all text by pressing anywhere in the text and then press Select All/Vælg alt in the tool bar that appears. You can select a single word by double-clicking on it. You can also extend the selection by dragging the little blue circles. You can cut or copy text from the tool bar. Paste by double tapping in the exact place in the document you want to paste the text, and then select Sæt ind/paste. Via the tool bar, you can also perform a spelling check, make text bold, italic, underlined or make a citation block.

7 7 IPAD TUTORIAL CALENDAR FEATURES This is how you use your calendar: When you have set up your ASB , you also have access to your work calendar. You can quickly shorten or extend an event by tapping on it and then dragging up or down in one of the two circles. NOTE! If you decided not to synchronize your calendar during first configuration of , you can change your choice under Indstillinger/Settings, go to E-post, kontakter, kalendere in the menu and select the account you set up. You can move events easily by holding your finger down on the event and dragging it up or down. You can find your calendar from the desktop. You can edit events by clicking on them in the calendar, and you can add events by pressing + in the bottom right corner. You can also move an even to a different day. Press down your finger on the even while you press the desired day in the date line in the bottom. NOTE! When you have an Internet connection, the changes in your calendar are automatically synchronized with Outlook on your PC or Mac.

8 IPAD VEJLEDNING 8 INSTALL NEW APPLICATIONS You can install useful programs ( apps ) on your ipad from Apple s online store, itunes Store - also called the App Store. In this guide, we will show you how to install Adobe Reader, so you can open PDF-files on your ipad. 5. Press INSTALL APP. This is how you install Adobe Reader: 1. Press the icon, App Store from the desktop: 6. Before you can download the app, you have to log in with your Apple-ID or create one. You Apple-ID is your personal account on the App Store. 2. Use the App Store s search bar to find Adobe Reader. 7. Confirm the purchase. Press Fortsæt/Continue. 3. Select Adobe Reader from the search results (don t forget to choose the ipad version). 8. You are now asked to select payment type. Since Adobe Reader is free, you don t need to enter credit card detail. So, select Intet/None. 4. Click the little square that says Gratis/Free under the icon. Continues on the next page

9 9 IPAD TUTORIAL 9. Adobe Reader is now downloaded to your ipad. You are possibly asked to accept terms and conditions for itunes Store use. When the app installation finishes, it will be placed on the next page of your desktop. Go to the desktop and swipe your finger across the screen to left or right. The money on the gift card is then credited to your App Store Account and can be used to purchase apps. NOTE! All purchased apps are permanently connected to your account and can be found in the App Store under Købt/ Paid. You can also re-install them from here at another time. Rearrange the Desktop Adobe Reader is free, but some apps cost money. For instance, this goes for Numbers and Pages, that are Apple s versions of Excel and Word. When you hold down your finger on an icon, all the icons start wriggling. Move the icons around by dragging them. You can move an icon to another desktop by dragging it over the edge of the screen. You can also drag the icon over another icon to create a folder (click the name to change it). Or you can drag it to the shortcut list at the bottom, which has 6 icon slots. Unwanted programs can be deleted by tapping the X. The procedure to install apps you pay for is the same as with free apps, but requires that you in step 8 choose to pay with a credit card. The icons stop wriggling once you click Hjem/Home If your department has given you a dift card to purchase apps, you can redeem it using the following method: 1. Open the App Store and select Købt/Paid in the menu at the bottom. Log in with your Apple-ID, if you are asked to. Suggested Apps for your ipad: - Adobe Reader open PDF-files - Microsoft OneNote make notes - Numbers work with Excel sheets - Pages work with Word documents 3. Press Indløs/Redeem 4. Enter the code of the gift card and press Indløs/Redeem.

10 IPAD VEJLEDNING 10 GET MORE Update Your ipad Once your ipad is updated, you have access to the newest features and improvements. You can update your ipad by going into Settings, then select General, then Software Updates. Search the ipad You can search in your ipad by going to the desktop and pressing Home/Hjem. Save Screenshot You can save a screenshot by holding down Home/Hjem and pressing the Off/Sluk button.
