2 1. Tax Lot Assignment Tool Assign all tax lot values and ORMAP number (from the map number) to tax lot polygons and automatically create and place tax lot annotation. Tax lot values can be incrementally assigned. This is a procedural tool that leads the user through a process. The procedure also requires entry to a form and mouse manipulation (+ORMAP NUMBER) 2. Calculate or Enter Rotation Angle Enter or calculate a rotation angle. This will be applied to the rotation constant or to rotate selected features. This tool would be used to provide input into tools #3 and #4. Entered 3 Pts 2 Lines Inverse Record VS Inverse 3. Set Rotation Angle Constant Tool Set the rotation constant for the edit session. The calculated rotation angle should populate the angle constant setting. 4. Rotate Features Tool Rotate selected features. This tool should rotate all selected features in a map (tax lot lines, annotation, tax lot polygons, etc ). This tool is different from the set constant tool defined previously in that it just rotates only selected features. 5. Tax Lot Locate Function Find and zoom to a selected tax lot Tax Lot Number: Entered Zoom To Map Location Function Enter or select a map number from a list and zoom to the selected map number. 3 7. Tax Lot Consolidation (Combine/Join/Delete-Join) Tool/Wizard To quickly and easily consolidate multiple tax lot features into one new account. This is a tool that will perform several actions after initial menu entry is complete. It will only combine tax lots from one given map and does not cross map boundaries Line Split Direction Function This is to make proportion and line split work more quickly. When you select the line it will automatically set the from and to so you do not have to. This saves mouse clicks and ensures you do not have to have arrows for arc direction always turned on. From To 9. Add Spiral Curve Tool Generate a line with spiral curve information and to save the spiral information for later use. Increasing Radius 10. Stationing Tool To add stationing attributes to road centerlines, generate a point at the end-point of those junctions, assign an attribute to the end-points and create annotation for that point. Enter in initial station value. StartStation: ie: Generate Control: Yes No Generate Anno: Yes No Assign Help Quit Generate control points and linked annotation at junctions. Execute stationing command. Get help or quit. Generate Report Stationing Report Line Length Start End OK Cancel Allow user to make changes to start and end stationing values. 4 11. Station Update/Control Tool To update any stationing information assigned to a line feature class. (Centerline or Construction line feature class.) The following interface is NOT what the interface should look like but illustrates the needed information that must be obtained from the user to run. StartStation: EndStation: ie: High/Low station for selected Update station information, go to next arc in collection, get help or quit. Update Next Help Quit This process allows the user to update individual low/high stations for all selected lines. This will allow the user to override record information. As each arc in the collection is selected (with the next button) it will be highlighted. If update is pressed the information in the text boxes will be assigned. 12. Offset From Station Tool For selected lines with stations the tool will create offsets and connect them. It will also allow the user to save the information to file. Example Interface: Choose side of road for offset. Side: Right Station Left Offset Enter station location and offsets. Save or restore the entered information as a system.txt file or print it out. Save Load Print Assign Draw Help Quit Create the offset lines, draw them (not create), get help or quit this menu. 13. 5 14. Cross Cross two lines ignoring intersections with other lines. Intersecting line may be a cogo line, cogo curve, or multivertex line. 15. Inverse Tools Several definitions exist for INVERSE this section summarizes four important functions where an inverse (display of record and map information) is used. Counties use several tools based around the inverse button. None really operate like the ArcMap Inverse Command. Several alternatives exist for interfaces and button calls. a. Add2ptLine: Add a 2point line, calculate & display inverse, ask if user wants to change it. If so, change it, and place inverse info in record. b. AddJoin: Like above only get inverse from a line prior to starting. (like old join command). This may be part of 9.0. c. DisplayInverse/CalcInverse: Display the calculated inverse between two points. d. IDInverse: Display the calculated and record inverse for a line. This is like the old Arc/Info Report command. 16. Area Calculation Tool Calculates area of a closed polygon(s) based on record information. This tool is used for displaying calculated results for an existing polygon or for generating a report of a selected group of polygons. The tool needs to display record area, closure error, and map area. 17. Widen Tool Create new lines similar to how the old Arc/Info WIDEN command worked. This tool works with straight lines, curves, and combinations of both. Distance: Map Index Tool Update or add map information to the map index polygon feature class. Users will be able to enter in all the information about a map index using this menu or optionally the user will select a map feature which will update the menu with the information. Users will be able to then update the attributes and by pressing update the user will be able to assign those attributes to the selected map feature class. Pressing the GetDefaults control will allow the user to get TwnPrt, TwnDir,RngPrt,RngDir, information from a default area. ORMAP ARCMAP TOOL REQUIREMENTS 5

6 19. Subdivision Tool This application operates in a very similar way as the update map index operation previously discussed. After pressing the select control the user will select a subdivision polygon feature(s) and attribute information (if any) will be updated from the menu. The user will be able to change the attributes and by pressing the update control the information in the menu will update the attributes for the selected feature class. 20. Plat/Lot Number Tool This tool automates the process of assigning plat information. Enter the start number and increment. As mouse is pressed the lot is updated, annotation is updated, and next number calculated. Start Number: 1 Increment: Segregation Wizard A Segregation tool could be developed but may be too complex to fit into a pre-defined process. Nothing has been selected for this. 22. Display Help Tool Display help files stored as RTF s or PDF s inside a scrolling window. Rather then develop special controls for help files or develop an index for help files it would work well to view the help file in whatever native mode viewer the user has on their computer. RTF s and PDF s work well in that they support graphics and are relatively operating system independent. 23. Set Initial Settings Tool The tool would be used to set standard menu settings when application is setup so that the system works for a specific county. This could be a file or a series of inputs in a menu. 24. Query Definition Tool This tool sets standard menu settings when application is setup so that the system works for a specific county. This could be a file or a series of inputs in a menu. It is a menu tool that sets definitions so the user does not have to go through a lot of steps. 25. Change Feature Class Tool Tool will allow user to move selected feature(s) from one feature class to another. Tool automatically copies feature, pastes it into the new feature class in desired symbol (LineType, AnnotationClassID, possible point symbol field (?), or polygon symbol field?), and automatically deletes feature from old feature class.
