The adaptor plates in the blanking, mains termination and PSU mounting kits are fitted with an earth lead terminated in a female blade connector; similar leads are fitted to the printer chassis and zone LED chassis. Where required, kits are supplied with a male blade to ring converter to connect these leads to the rack earth. This procedure, together with all wiring instructions, is given in the Installation Instructions sheet supplied with the PSU. Discard the cables and wires supplied with the PSU and use those supplied with the daptor kit. Cut the M4 ring off the red and black dc power cables. Further wiring instructions are given on the next page. 5

6 If PSU is mounted below the asic Equipment Kit, secure dc and signal cables to underside of this surface using cable ties supplied If PSU is mounted below the asic Equipment Kit, secure input mains cable to back of adaptor plate using three M4 cable ties and screws supplied The PSU can be mounted either directly behind or directly below the asic Equipment Kit. ecause there is restricted access within the 19-inch rack enclosure, all wiring connections at the PSU should be made EFORE the PSU adaptor kit is installed into the rack. Mains, dc, battery and signal cables must be cut to length. Example arrangements of the 19-inch rack mains and earth wiring are shown in the 19-inch Rack Mounting pplication Guide, PN: The following applies: a. If the PSU is mounted below the asic Equipment Kit, use the cable ties to secure the dc/signal and mains cables in the locations shown opposite. Firstly loop the cable ties loosely, then connect the dc/signal cables to the PSU connectors and the mains cable to the terminal block. Thread the cables through the appropriate cable ties and then pull the ties tight. PREPRE CLE TIE LOOSELY THRED CLE(S) THROUGH TIE WHEN CLE RUN IS STISFCTORY, TIGHTEN CLE TIE EXMPLE USE OF RION CLE CLIPS Secure ribbon cable with supplied clips at suitable locations. b. If the PSU is mounted behind the asic Equipment Kit, only those cable tie locations adjacent to the PSU connectors and the terminal block are needed (for strain relief). Use additional cable ties to form a cable loom between the PSU and the asic Equipment Kit. c. Use additional cable ties to secure the battery cables to the rack enclosure. d. To tighten connections to the DTP screw terminals, insert a screwdriver through the slot provided in the front of the asic Equipment Kit adaptor plate. 6
